My basement is this awesome?

When Mei walked back up the stairs to the living room, Nana was slumped on the sofa munching on an apple, her legs propped up on the coffee table, staring intently at a Honkai fan-made video on the TV.

Hearing the movement, she looked up vaguely.

“Mei, are you done cleaning?

Why did you spend so long behind the entryway cabinet?

I remember that small area shouldn’t take that long to clean…” “Yeah.

I cleaned it, and by the way…

I found something interesting.” Mei placed the flashlight on the entryway cabinet.

Seeing Nana’s bewildered expression, she couldn’t help but curl her lips.

“In your basement, there’s a ridiculously large training base hidden away.” “What the heck???” The apple in Nana’s mouth almost fell out.

She suddenly sat up straight and tossed the apple core into a plate.

“Wait, what?!

A basement??

My house has a basement??

Mei, don’t lie to me!” “You’ll know if you go see for yourself~” Mei turned back toward the entryway cabinet and reached out to push it further aside, fully revealing the metal door embedded in the wall.

“I just discovered it too.

Below isn’t just a basement; there’s also the Quantum Manifold, the Memory Battlefield, and even…

the Elysian Realm.” “What the f—?!

The Elysian Realm?!” Nana’s voice suddenly spiked.

She didn’t even change her shoes, rushing over barefoot and repeatedly stroking the metal door while squatting.

“Holy crap…

this thing…

I’ve lived here my whole life and never knew my house had this…

Mom never mentioned it either!

And the Quantum Manifold and Memory Battlefield?

Are they the ones I’m thinking of?” Nana turned her head, looking at Mei with a hint of doubt and a need for confirmation.

Mei nodded.

The door was right there; there was nothing to lie about.

“Mm-hmm?

It’s exactly the ones you’re thinking of.” Mei smiled and opened the metal door.

A cold wind carrying a faint metallic scent rushed out.

“As for who built it…

I can’t say for sure yet, but it can certainly serve as practice for us.

However, the Elysian Realm is locked; only the Quantum Manifold and Memory Battlefield are available.

The enemy encyclopedia is quite complete, even mixing in monsters from Honkai Gakuen 2 and Honkai: Star Rail.” “Are they the honkai impact 2 and honkai: star rail I’m thinking of…?” “Yes.” Nana was beyond shock now; she was filled with pure curiosity!

She had to see it!

Grabbing the flashlight from the entryway cabinet, she dashed down the stairs.

Her voice floated up: “Mei, hurry up!

This is too ridiculous!

My basement actually hides these things?!” Mei followed slowly, listening to Nana’s series of exclamations ahead.

Passing through the piles of old furniture on the first basement level, when the metal wall with the recessed groove slid open under Nana’s hand, revealing a blue-lit corridor, she heard Nana gasp.

“Hiss…” “My god…” Nana stood before the sensor door, staring at the floating space behind it, her eyes wide as saucers.

She tentatively stepped through the sensor door onto the floating steps.

The pale blue energy ripples spread beneath her feet, scaring her into quickly grabbing the nearby handrail.

“T-this is where the Quantum Manifold is?!

And that platform over there…

is the Memory Battlefield!?” Like a curious cat, she scurried over to the light screen of the Quantum Manifold and poked the “Red Lotus” difficulty icon.

The screen immediately rippled.

Then she rushed to the Memory Battlefield console and clicked on the enemy encyclopedia.

When she saw the familiar monsters from Honkai: Star Rail mixed into the list, she almost jumped…

“No way!

It has all of these?!

This is too crazy!!” “Don’t just stand there looking.” Mei walked to her side and pointed at the filter panel on the console.

“I’ve already filtered the enemies to standard common Death Soldiers from Honkai Impact 3rd.

If you want to try, you can start it now.” “Try!

Of course I’ll try!” Nana’s eyes were terrifyingly bright.

She immediately began operating the panel, her fingers moving so fast they were almost a blur!

“I’m choosing the Memory Battlefield!

I’ll fight Sirin!

Let me see how puffed up the Pufferfish is!

I’ve been looking for a place to test the combos I’ve been practicing lately!” Little did she know…

Nana herself was puffing up right now, her ego rivaling Sirin’s rate of puffing up.

As soon as she finished speaking, the Memory Battlefield platform suddenly lit up with white light.

The simulated environment instantly switched to the urban ruins of a Honkai descent.

Beneath the distant sky, a phantom of the Herrscher of the Void slowly materialized, a familiar pressure washing over them.

She was like a queen.

No—she was a queen, slowly walking down from the sky.

Looking down disdainfully at that overconfident white-haired Paramecium?

Nana instantly manifested a weapon out of thin air.

This was a feature of the calibrated Memory Battlefield: providing trial weapons when none were equipped.

Nana’s eyes gleamed as she shouted excitedly.

“Mei, don’t interfere!

Let me try this alone!” She dashed out at a blurring speed, her dual pistols firing bright arcs toward the queen in the sky amidst the ruins.

The Herrscher of the Void calmly used the Spear of the Void to block the attacks, resulting in crisp metallic clangs.

Mei leaned against the console, watching Nana weave through the battlefield and execute combos.

Her movements were much sharper than during regular training, and her eyes held the keenness of real combat.

She also saw the playfulness in the Herrscher of the Void’s eyes, like a high-and-mighty ruler toying with her subject.

She couldn’t help but frown.

Until…

The Herrscher of the Void gave a wicked smile and a twitch of her lips, just like a returning Dragon King, not even bothering to act anymore.

Spears of the Void shot out from voids filling the sky in a simultaneous volley.

“Now is…

the Moment of Judgment.” The shocked Nana, who was as puffed up as a Pufferfish, was instantly sent flying, her HP dropping to zero.

The airborne Nana sat slumped at the edge of the platform, panting.

Watching the phantom of the Herrscher of the Void dissipate, she wiped away sweat, still wanting more.

“This simulation is too realistic!

It’s a hundred times better than the training grounds we found outside!

Even though I couldn’t win, it felt so good!” Mei thought to herself…

Does getting beaten up count as feeling good?

She turned to look at Mei, grinning with a row of white teeth, as if the battle-hungry genes in her body had been awakened.

“Mei, let’s come here to practice every day!

Quantum Manifold floors in the morning, Memory Battlefield bosses in the afternoon, and review in the evening.

We’ll definitely improve at lightning speed!” “I was thinking the same thing.” Mei walked over and handed her a bottle of water.

“But we have to control the intensity.

Don’t overdo it.” “I know, I know!” Nana took the water and gulped down more than half the bottle, then suddenly stood up and looked toward the Quantum Manifold area.

“Want to try the Quantum Manifold now?

I want to try pushing for the Red Lotus difficulty!” Seeing her excitement, Mei was both helpless and amused.

“What’s the rush?

You want to push for Red Lotus without even finishing original sin?

Clean up the battlefield first.

And…” She paused and looked toward the locked Elysian Realm area.

“I wonder when the Elysian Realm will be ready.

Once it’s unlocked, maybe we’ll see even more things?” “Probably!

I’m really curious about what’s inside too!” Nana nodded vigorously and skipped toward the Quantum Manifold light screen.

“Forget the Realm for now, Red Lotus difficulty, here I come!

Mei, come join me!” “I told you, don’t be in such a hurry.

Start with original sin first.

Haste makes waste!” “Oh…” Accompanied by the hum of the Quantum Manifold starting up, the basement echoed with one enthusiastic shout after another!

Along with the sounds of weapons clashing.

For them, this secret base hidden underground was not just a place for training, but a new starting point filled with surprises and anticipation.
