Dan Heng Being Hunted Down
“Heh, alright, everyone. This time we’re truly saying goodbye, oh. You’ll miss me, won’t you? Welt?” Void Archives looked at Welt, a playful glint flashing in its golden eyes.
“I won’t.” Welt pushed up his glasses, his voice cold and hard, “Even if you ask hundreds of millions of times more, my answer remains the same.”
Void Archives merely smiled, its figure gradually turning into golden points of light that dissipated into the air.
Himeko looked at the spot where it vanished, somewhat perplexed: “This guy really is as elusive as a ghost…”
Kal’tsit and Welt exchanged a glance, both carrying a tacit understanding of vigilance in their eyes.
They knew all too well how dangerous Void Archives was.
“I’ll go check out another room first.” mon3tr greeted them and floated toward the neighboring area.
Kal’tsit arranged for Himeko and Welt to send the survivors back to the Astral Express first, then immediately went to look for mon3tr.
In the corridor, cabin doors were forcibly blasted open one by one.
When Kal’tsit found mon3tr, she discovered her standing rigid in front of an open cabin door, her shadow form fluctuating violently.
“What’s wrong? mon3tr…” Kal’tsit walked closer, and instantly her pupils constricted—
The cabin was piled high with the corpses of researchers, layer upon layer.
She quickly inspected the other cabins, which without exception were in the exact same tragic state.
Of the more than 1,000 personnel across the entire Space Station, 97% were concentrated right here.
“Some died from cold weapons, some died from energy weapons…” Kal’tsit found it somewhat unbearable to look straight at them.
“This was indeed done by the Antimatter Legion. But why pile all the corpses here?”
mon3tr’s shadow tightly wrapped around Kal’tsit’s arm: “Doctor Kal’tsit… This is too cruel…”
Suddenly, intense sounds of fighting came from afar.
Kal’tsit’s expression turned stern, and mon3tr immediately transformed back into her combat form, floating above her head as the two swiftly rushed toward the source of the sound.
There they saw a black-haired youth dressed in a damaged security uniform, locked in fierce combat with a frantically laughing man wielding a long sword.
The youth already had numerous wounds on his body, yet still put up a stubborn resistance.
“mon3tr!”
The shadow struck out like lightning, its double claws precisely piercing the swordsman’s chest.
Seizing the opportunity, the security youth retreated to Kal’tsit’s side, panting as he offered his thanks: “Hello, miss, thank you for the help.” Follow the newest chapters on g.com.
mon3tr transformed back into human form and walked over, prompting the youth to suddenly shout: “Careful! He can’t be killed!”
Before his words finished falling, mon3tr delivered a beautiful spinning kick that sent the resurrected enemy flying, then condensed emerald energy beams in both hands to completely obliterate the opponent’s upper body.
“Hah…” The youth let out a long breath.
“My name is Dan Heng. That person is a member of the Stellaron Hunters, named Blade.”
Kal’tsit nodded: “My name is Kal’tsit.” She took out a medical kit: “Let me give you a simple bandage first.”
mon3tr stood guard around them, waving friendly to Dan Heng: “Hello there, little brother Dan Heng! I am Doctor Kal’tsit’s memory spirit, mon3tr~”
Dan Heng was visibly startled, then praised: “I didn’t expect there to be a memory spirit like Miss mon3tr. Truly an eye-opener today.”
After the bandages were applied, Dan Heng anxiously said: “Miss Kal’tsit, you must have encountered a few surviving researchers, right? We need to leave quickly, that Stellaron Hunter will resurrect!”
The three quickly evacuated, the journey along the way being unusually quiet.
When they returned to the platform, Himeko and Welt were already waiting.
“It seems there are no other survivors.” Welt pushed up his glasses, his gaze heavy.
Dan Heng nodded gloomily: “Mhm.”
mon3tr couldn’t help asking: “Why were all those corpses piled up inside the room?”
Dan Heng’s voice was hoarse: “That was the security room… I thought it was the safest place…” He clenched his fists tightly.
“In the end, it turned into a mass grave instead…”
Kal’tsit swept her gaze across everyone: “Once we return to the Astral Express, everyone must undergo psychological counseling.” Her gaze swept past the rescued survivors.
“Including them.”
As they boarded the Astral Express, mon3tr quietly tugged at Kal’tsit’s sleeve: “Doctor Kal’tsit… Are you alright?”
Kal’tsit remained silent for a moment, gently patting her hand: “I’m fine. Go help Himeko settle the wounded.”
The Astral Express slowly sailed away from this dead Space Station.
Outside the portholes, countless stars twinkled quietly, as if mourning this tragedy.
And in an unnoticed corner, a few golden points of light quietly drifted away…
She put down the report in her hand and let out a long breath.
The report results were just as she expected—Himeko had suffered minor psychological trauma due to witnessing such a bloody scene for the first time; Welt and Dan Heng behaved normally; whereas among the surviving researchers, a few had even developed irreversible psychological trauma.
“Himeko,” Kal’tsit looked up at the red-haired woman before her, “regarding those few researchers, I suggest sending them to professional psychiatric treatment at the next planet. The medical conditions on the Astral Express are limited.”
Himeko nodded, her fingers unconsciously twisting the corner of her clothes: “Doctor Kal’tsit… I have a request.” Her voice was much lighter than usual.
Kal’tsit put down the documents, her light green eyes looking straight at her: “Granted, as long as it’s not an excessive request.”
“These past few days… I’ve been having nightmares continuously.” Himeko rarely revealed a vulnerable side.
“Can I stay here with you for two days?”
The medical room fell into a brief silence.
Kal’tsit’s cat ears twitched gently: “Have you asked mon3tr?”
“I’ve asked.” Himeko revealed a trace of a smile.
“mon3tr said as long as Doctor Kal’tsit agrees, she has no objections.”
Kal’tsit helplessly pressed a hand to her forehead: “… Just one night.”
Right at this moment, mon3tr carrying homemade lemonade arrived at the door of the medical room, just in time to run into Himeko walking out with a satisfied look on her face.
A hint of puzzlement flashed in her emerald-green eyes as she walked into the medical room and cautiously asked: “Umm… Doctor Kal’tsit… You didn’t agree to Himeko’s request, did you?”
Kal’tsit nodded lightly, reaching out to take the lemonade.
After setting down the cup, mon3tr quietly retreated from the medical room.
Outside the door, mon3tr bit her sleeve, her black hair bristling with anger: “Detestable Himeko! Ungh… Why do you have to fight with me for Doctor Kal’tsit!” Like a little kitten whose snacks had been snatched away, she paced back and forth angrily in the corridor.
Inside the medical room, Kal’tsit sipped mon3tr’s specially made lemonade, the corners of her mouth curling up unconsciously.
Of course she had heard the soft complaints outside the door, but this time…
perhaps letting mon3tr be a little jealous wouldn’t be bad?
“Hmm? Why would I think like that?”
Outside the window, the galaxy remained brilliant, and the Astral Express sailed steadily along its track.
And in a certain guest room, Himeko was happily preparing bedding for the night, completely unaware of the grievance-filled shadow drifting past outside the door…
