It didn’t take long for the group Mall to become a total mess.

Because uploading anything earned points, all sorts of random junk started filling up the interface—mostly courtesy of Elysia.

‘A half-drank glass of juice,’ ‘a bitten piece of bread,’ and even ‘pink cardstock with a lipstick kiss print.’ Looking at the strange merchandise, Zane felt a vein twitch in his temple.

He quickly set a daily upload limit of ten items per person.

“…” Furina stared intently at the Mall.

She had spotted a ‘Water Flow Staff’ capable of granting its wielder absolute control over hydro elements.

Even though she was the Hydro Archon, she didn’t have any real divine power and had survived for five hundred years just by pretending.

The staff made her heart pound.

Fifty thousand points was a huge price, but it gave her hope.

She wouldn’t have to keep worrying about being found out.

Even without counting the daily check-in points, uploading 10 cakes a day would earn her 1,000 points.

That meant…

it would only take fifty days.

After being trapped for 500 years, fifty days felt like nothing.

She started breathing faster, excitement building inside her.

—•——•——•——•——•——•— The bathroom door creaked open, and Silver Wolf stepped out.

Her previously mud-caked, dirty little face was scrubbed completely clean, revealing eyes that shone with a fierce light.

For a ten-year-old girl, she was surprisingly pretty.

She wore an oversized white T-shirt and shuffled around in fluffy white bunny slippers.

She looked completely different from the muddy kid she’d been in the alley.

When she noticed Zane staring at her, Silver Wolf suddenly felt awkward.

“This…

this T-shirt is a prank, right?” She quickly looked away and pointed at the picture on her chest to change the subject.

Printed dead center in bold words was ‘Three Clueless Chicks’, accompanied by three chibi yellow chickens with very distinct attitudes.

One had a question mark over its head with the text: ‘Where am I?’ The second had its wings spread in a shrug, reading: ‘I don’t know.’ The last one pointed haughtily off to the side: ‘Go ask someone else.’ It was pretty hilarious.

“Don’t you think it’s cute?

Come on, let’s eat.” Zane pointed to the table, deciding not to tease her anymore.

“Whoa!!” Silver Wolf finally noticed the massive feast covering the table.

Her eyes went perfectly round, and she gulped hard in disbelief.

There was golden, crispy roasted chicken, smooth almond tofu, and perfectly grilled fish with a shiny glaze.

“Is…

is this all for me?” “Of course!” Silver Wolf jumped onto the chair, grabbed a piece of Spicy Pepper Chicken, and stuffed it into her mouth without caring how hot it was.

The chicken was tender and cooked just right.

As soon as she bit in, hot, savory juices filled her mouth.

The mix of spice and numbness made her taste buds tingle.

She finished the chicken in a few quick bites, then scooped up a big spoonful of almond tofu.

It melted on her tongue, sweet and fragrant, making her feel light and happy.

She moved on to the grilled fish, sliced meat, and spring rolls, and finished with half a bowl of sweet pear soup, eating everything as fast as she could.

“Ah~ I’m so full…” After eating and drinking her fill, Silver Wolf leaned back in her chair.

She rubbed her full stomach and closed her eyes in pure satisfaction.

“Alright, take a break and then go to bed.

Your leveling quest starts tomorrow.” Zane glanced out the window at the darkening sky and snapped his fingers.

Beep-beep!

A translucent Cartridge quest window popped up directly in Silver Wolf’s field of vision.

[Quest: Decimate the Wolf Pack.] [Objective: 0/100] [Accept?] “A wolf…

pack?

You mean the ones over at Scrap Mountain?!” Silver Wolf read the description closely, her shoulders trembling slightly.

Even though her Cartridge was activated, her stats were still firmly stuck at Level 0.

She had absolutely no supernatural abilities.

If she was going up against a vicious pack of wolves, she would have to rely entirely on the combat mechanics she had memorized from video games.

“What’s wrong?

Scared?” Zane flashed a teasing smile.

“Who said that?

It’s just a main story quest.

Consider it accepted!” Like a cat getting its tail stepped on, Silver Wolf’s spine went completely rigid.

She gritted her teeth and forcefully jabbed her finger into the prompt.

[Quest Accepted.] [Progress: 0/100 (In Progress)] “Go to sleep.

Rest up and get ready for tomorrow.

Oh, and there’s a set of clothes waiting for you in your room.” “Got it.” Silver Wolf nodded and turned toward the bedroom, her heart hammering violently in her chest.

‘Kill a hundred wolves?

I’m literally a ten-year-old child!’ She opened the door and saw an outfit on the bed.

It was a mostly black, cyberpunk-style jacket with a thick fur collar.

The black hood had two playful bunny ears sticking up.

Zane had made it to look like the ‘Haxxor Bunny’ battlesuit from Honkai Impact 3rd.

“…” Silver Wolf brushed her fingers over the fabric.

Suddenly, Zane’s underlying message clicked in her head.

She was Silver Wolf.

The outfit was the Haxxor Bunny.

When the Haxxor Bunny got hungry, she hunted.

Even a weak rabbit could have the fangs to take down wolves.

Starting today, she would be the rabbit that turned the food chain upside down.

“Stupid old man…

I’m definitely going to make you proud,” Silver Wolf murmured under her breath.

She changed into her pajamas, got into bed, and soon fell asleep.

It was the most peaceful sleep she’d ever had.

She finally had a home and a ‘stupid old man’ looking out for her.

In her dreams, she became the undisputed overlord of the Black Web Empire, recruiting rangers and taverns alike before finally ascending as the new master of Device IX.

—•——•——•——•——•——•— The next morning.

Freshly washed and brushed, Silver Wolf opened the group chat, only to instantly burst into laughter.

[Martial Arts Addict Fox]: “@Kiki Cat, Miss Himeko, could you please upload a few more cups of your ‘Special Coffee’?

It serves as an excellent crucible for tempering my mental fortitude, which is very beneficial to my training.

Additionally, it appears effective for interrogating prisoners.” [Kiki Cat]: “…” Inside the parlor car, Himeko had just brewed a fresh pot and was about to take a sip when she made a complicated face.

She felt like Miss Miyabi was a lot like Dan Heng.

With a helpless shake of her head, she uploaded the coffee to the Mall anyway.

“I really need to buy some more mugs.” The rest of the chat was utterly speechless.

Was Himeko’s coffee really that bad?

It could build willpower?

It could be used to interrogate people?

Things were getting out of hand.

[Elysia]: “Oh my~ Suddenly, I’m super interested in big sister Himeko’s coffee.

What should I do?” [Holy Spirit]: “Hold it back, hand!

Don’t do it!

Legend has it that Himeko’s coffee packs enough punch to knock out an Aeon.” [Kiki Cat]: “…” Since when did I not know about this?

Breakfast was savory scallion pancakes stuffed with bacon, pork tenderloin, and fresh greens.

Silver Wolf ate like she hadn’t eaten in days, drank a carton of milk, wiped her mouth, and gave Zane a determined look.

“Old man, let’s move!” “…” Zane looked her over and laughed.

Wearing her black cyberpunk outfit with the bunny hood up, Silver Wolf really looked like the Haxxor Bunny.

—•——•——•——•——•——•— Scrap Mountain.

It was a huge area filled with endless piles of trash.

Rusted metal frames, broken hovercars, old cybernetics, and all kinds of industrial waste were stacked high, turning the place into a wild steel graveyard.

The entire Scrap Mountain was strictly controlled by the ‘Slag Gang’.

The gang’s core operated out of the slums and waste-processing zones, monopolizing almost all of Punklorde’s scrap recycling, black-market trade, and under-the-table rackets.

However, the northern foothills of the mountain were infested with a pack of notoriously vicious wild wolves.

Even the Slag Gang couldn’t completely clear them out.

This was their exact destination.

To get there, the two of them first had to navigate through the fringe zones, which were crawling with drifters and scavengers.

“Tsk.” Zane looked up at the mountain of garbage and clicked his tongue.

As soon as they stepped into the area, dozens of malicious stares locked onto them.

“Level 0?” When their scanners registered the [LV.

0] tag floating above Silver Wolf’s head, the entire sector fell eerily silent for a split second.

“Well, well.

A Level 0 cockroach actually has the balls to stroll right into Scrap Mountain?” A green-haired thug walked up.

His right eye glowed red, and his left was cloudy.

His right arm was a huge, crab-like cybernetic pincer.

He looked Silver Wolf up and down, his greedy expression obvious.

“Hey, hey, hey, looks like I judged too fast.

This little chick is actually pretty damn cute.

The big shots down in Night City’s red-light district would pay top credit for a piece like this.” The green-haired thug licked his cracked lips and grinned wider as he got closer.

His freezing, metal pincer arm slowly reached toward Silver Wolf’s shoulder.

“It’s a damn shame for the kid.” “Yeah.

Running into ‘Iron Crab’ is just pure bad luck.

He’s Level 18, the Slag Gang’s lieutenant for this turf.” “Why the hell would a Level 0 newbie wander into a death trap like this anyway?” “She’s a goner.

What a waste…” The surrounding scavengers whispered among themselves, shaking their heads in pity.

As for Zane standing right beside her, he was completely ignored.

A guy without a single Level indicator was obviously an undocumented ghost—a total nobody without even a basic Cartridge.

“Take your claw off me.” Silver Wolf snapped her head up, her eyes erupting with bone-chilling, murderous intent.

“Oh ho?

She’s got a temper!

And if I don’t, what are you gonna do about it?

Kill me?

Come on, kill me!

If you’ve got the guts, just do it—” Iron Crab threw his head back and roared with arrogant laughter, treating her like an absolute joke.

But in the very next second, his laughter abruptly ceased.

Iron Crab saw only a black blur zip past, too fast for his cyber-eye to follow.

Then a flash of light hit his senses.

He felt something cold across his throat, and then hot-red liquid sprayed into the air.

It was his own blood…

As his consciousness rapidly faded, the belated realization finally hit him.

A blade had cleanly sliced his throat wide open.

“…” Silver Wolf flicked her wrist, snapping the crimson beads of blood off her combat knife.

Her youthful face showed zero emotion.

“Seriously…

I have never heard such a ridiculous request in my entire life.” — A little support goes a long way.

Every little bit helps the story survive and grow!
