King’s Road.
At that moment, a huge entourage was crossing the King’s Road with horses and carriages. The banners of House Lannister fluttered in the wind.
Inside one of the carriages, two men, one middle-aged and the other younger, about seventeen years old, sat side by side.
Both had golden hair and green eyes; the resemblance between them was striking. Besides being very handsome. They were none other than Loreon and Tymond Lannister, Lord and Heir of Casterly Rock, respectively.
"Father, this is a trap set by the king. Are we really going to enter King’s Landing, even knowing it’s a trap?" Tymond asked with a worried tone. No one from the Great Nobility was stupid; everyone could see that Jaehaerys wanted to use House Lannister to attack Maekar without losing his own reputation.
"That’s exactly why it’s a trap we must go to." Loreon sighed and spoke in a calm, deep tone. "The only way out of this trap is to lean on someone powerful."
"You’re not talking about the king, are you?" Tymond asked with an incredulous tone. It wasn’t new that the king was suppressing the Great Noble Houses with heavy taxes to enrich the royal treasury. After all, the debts with the Iron Bank were too great. Even almost sixty years after Maegor’s Civil War, the crown still owed a significant amount of money.
"Prince Baelon is sick, rumors say he won’t survive to see another year. When he dies, the throne will pass to one of Baelon’s sons." Loreon said in a calm tone. "Daemon is out of the question, no one wants to see him as king; Maekar is even more out of the question, he’s a legitimized bastard. Only Viserys remains, for whom the king has great affection."
Tymond understood that his father wanted Viserys’s help to get out of this dangerous situation.
"Is it Prince Aemon’s daughter, Princess Rhaenys, or even Rhaenys’s son, Laenor?" Tymond couldn’t help but ask, remembering that Prince Aemon’s descendants were still alive and well.
"Tymond, you are young and don’t understand." Loreon shook his head and spoke in a cold tone. "If Princess Rhaenys sits on the Iron Throne, House Velaryon will become more powerful than ever. Not to mention that we, the Great Houses, would not accept such a thing either. House Velaryon is not even a great house and dares to become stronger than us, the descendants of great heroes and kings?"
"What about my marriage to Princess Gael?" Tymond asked with an excited tone. Marrying the Princess, especially one with a dragon rider, wouldn’t that make House Lannister stronger, and his children could also have dragons!
"Since the king wants to use us as a sword, he has to bear the price; a princess with a dragon is a valid price." Loreon said with a smile. He was also excited about the idea of House Lannister having dragons.
He even harbored some rebellious intentions, after all, he was a descendant of kings and could very well proclaim himself king if he had more dragons than House Targaryen.
If Jaehaerys knew of Loreon’s thoughts, he would only mock him, for this marriage was not destined to happen. He only wanted Maekar out of the continent; that doesn’t mean he would marry Gael, who was a dragon rider, to a Great Noble House.
What happened to Rhaenys should never be repeated. How could Jaehaerys not see the damage and consequences this could cause in the long run? Honestly, Jaehaerys had long hoped that Rhaenys would die to recover Meleys.
"What about Maekar?" Tymond asked with a cold tone. "He has a dragon."
Loreon frowned, thinking about the legitimized bastard. This was indeed a problem. Having once been young, how could he not know that young people are impulsive? If Maekar really rides his dragon and burns them, the king would only exile Maekar, but they themselves would die under dragonfire.
"Prince Viserys must have a way to calm Maekar." Loreon said in a calm tone.
Tymond nodded; his anxiety disappeared with his father’s words. He was increasingly excited to arrive in King’s Landing and meet his fiancée.
King’s Landing.
The arrival of House Lannister spread quickly; the court nobles were waiting to watch a good show of chaos, and the chance to watch the show had arrived. The king was holding a banquet that very night. As for the reason for the banquet, it was not stated.
Maekar naturally received the invitation and showed a cold look. Since everyone wanted to watch, he would start a bloody play.
Looking at Gael, completely naked, lying on the sofa with only a red sheet covering her nudity, Maekar was finishing the painting he had been working on for days.
Looking at the beautiful princess’s flushed cheeks, Maekar chuckled and knew that Gael was extremely embarrassed and shy. This only made her extremely adorable.
After saying that he would kill all the suitors Jaehaerys chose in a duel, Gael no longer cared about the decency of a young unmarried princess and didn’t mind helping her beloved paint the picture. The girl practically gave herself completely to Maekar; perhaps this was the madness of passion and love.
Before Maekar’s extremely concentrated and intense eyes, Gael felt her cheeks burn even more. Every time his gaze fell on her, Gael felt a burning sensation on her skin, causing shivers and making her blush like never before.
She couldn’t believe she agreed to be Maekar’s model to paint such an obscene and erotic picture. However, as a lover of arts, be it music, painting, or sculptures, she loved this artistic side of Maekar.
This only reinforced in her passionate mind that he was the perfect husband for her. As for what her father wanted, she no longer cared.
"I’m done." Maekar said with a smile, putting down the brush and paints on the table beside him. He looked at the painting and couldn’t help but show a satisfied expression. He loved painting such pictures. Eroticism for him was just a beautiful aspect of life.
Gael got up from the sofa with the sheet pressed against her body and walked towards Maekar. The sunlight fell on her body; her pale skin glowed as it was embraced by the red sheet.
She looked like Hemera, the personification of day, walking towards Maekar.
Maekar, seeing the scene before him, couldn’t help but be mesmerized by what he was seeing. He truly felt like a lucky man to have such a woman by his side.
Maekar opened his arms and felt her body press against his; Gael practically clung to Maekar tightly.
"Husband." Gael spoke softly, making Maekar hold his breath. He had to admit, that word had great destructive power. For a moment, Maekar wanted to reduce House Lannister to ashes to marry Gael at that very moment.
Fortunately, his lucid mind subjugated his desires and impulsiveness, making him calmer.
"My wife." Maekar gently kissed Gael’s bare and delicate shoulder and said with a smile. Gael’s pale skin was so delicate that the mere kiss left a red mark on her skin.
"Hmm..." Gael just made a nasal sound and closed her eyes, enjoying Maekar’s kisses on her skin. She liked him being so gentle and loving.
"Did you like the painting?" Maekar gently kissed Gael’s sweet and red lips and asked as his hands sank into her waist.
Gael opened her eyes and looked shyly at the painting; she couldn’t help but widen them seeing the figure lying on the sofa in the image.
"Is that me? Do you see me like that?" Gael asked with an incredulous tone. Before her was the image of a goddess lying on the sofa, with an intense expression and flushed cheeks.
"Of course, you are my goddess, Meraxes, the goddess of the sky." Maekar replied with a smile as he smelled Gael’s pleasant scent and felt the warmth of her skin against him. Even though their bodies were separated by a sheet.
Gael blushed at Maekar’s words; she felt her heart beat extremely fast, knowing that Maekar found her as beautiful as a goddess.
"You always like to embarrass me." Giving Maekar a few gentle punches on the chest, Gael said with a resentful tone, but her smile couldn’t be hidden.
Maekar didn’t answer and stood up, still holding Gael in his arms. Walking towards the bed, he whispered to Gael.
"There’s still time before the banquet, let’s have some fun."
Gael blushed, but intertwined her arms around Maekar’s neck. Although she hadn’t crossed the final line, she had already done everything else.
