After speaking with Harry and Ron, Malfoy finally turned his gaze to Elavin.

Elavin’s clothes had been swiped from a high-end formalwear shop in London.

Both the fabric and tailoring were first-rate.Full novel: HP: The Mage at Hogwarts — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But the wizarding world had no such designs, so they had to be Muggle-made.

And in the arrogant young Malfoy’s eyes, anything produced by Muggles was automatically considered second-rate garbage.

“As for you, even less needs to be said.

Though you have noble blond hair and aren’t bad-looking, it’s obvious at a glance that you come from a Muggle family.

Just another inferior wizard.” Harry and Ron were both a bit surprised.

They hadn’t expected this arrogant brat Malfoy to call anyone “noble.” Blond hair wasn’t especially noble, but since Malfoy himself was blond, he naturally had to say so.

Elavin was a little surprised too.

The kid hadn’t used the word “Mudblood”?

Elavin didn’t find the term particularly hurtful, but he’d already decided that if Malfoy said it, he’d definitely have some fun with him.

But now…

A small punishment should be enough.

“You’ll soon find that some wizarding families are much better than others, Pot-tah.” “You don’t want to be friends with the wrong sort, do you?

I can help you there.” Malfoy extended his hand to Harry.

Harry refused coldly, his voice firm.

“I think I can tell who the wrong sort is.” “You’d better stay away from me and my friends, or I’ll make you pay.” At that moment, he thought of Elavin’s earlier “complex human nature” theory.

True, he shouldn’t judge someone before getting to know them.

But this boy named Malfoy — he was almost certain he was no good.

Rejected, Malfoy’s cheeks flushed slightly.

“It seems our savior isn’t very bright, preferring to mix with filthy blood—” A spell hit Malfoy, cutting off his unfinished words.

Right before everyone’s shocked eyes, Malfoy started spinning wildly on the spot while rapidly shrinking and transforming.

In the blink of an eye, he had turned into a golden toad.

“Merlin’s beard!!” “Young Master Malfoy!!” Crabbe and Goyle shrieked.

“Croak~” Toad-Malfoy panicked and started bouncing wildly across the floor.

“What’s going on?!” Harry was baffled too.

Elavin said dryly, “Looks like he’s trying to jump up and bite your knees.” “Harry Potter, you just wait!

I’m definitely telling the professor about this!!” “Young Master Malfoy’s father is a school governor!

Just you wait — he won’t let you off!” Crabbe and Goyle shouted before scooping up the Malfoy-toad and scrambling away in panic.

“What was that about?” Back in the compartment, Harry was still utterly confused.

Elavin laughed.

“Still not clear?

They think you turned Malfoy into a toad.” “But I couldn’t possibly do that!” Harry spread his hands innocently.

“I mean, I’m just a first-year who hasn’t even started school yet.

I don’t know any magic at all.” “Not necessarily!” Elavin raised his chin.

“In most wizards’ eyes, you, Harry Potter, defeated Voldemort when you were one year old.

Then Dumbledore hid you away and secretly trained you for eleven years.” “Your strength is practically unfathomable.

Turning someone into a toad would be child’s play!” Harry: “…” No, wait.

Something seriously wasn’t right here.

How had this somehow become his fault?

“Pfft hahaha…” Ron finally cracked up, clutching his stomach with one hand and pointing at Elavin with the other, laughing uncontrollably.

He’d seen the whole thing clearly — that spell had definitely come from Elavin.

“Elavin, did you do that?” Hearing Ron’s laughter, Harry finally understood.

So it was Elavin who had taught Malfoy a lesson.

“Hey, don’t accuse me!” Elavin pulled out a wand and waved it in front of them.

“This wand of mine has no trace of a Transfiguration spell on it.” “Even if Dumbledore himself came, he wouldn’t find anything!” No matter how he looked at it, something was seriously wrong here.

Harry stared intently at the wand in Elavin’s hand.

After a few seconds, he seemed to notice something.

“That wand you just used — it wasn’t this one, was it?” Ron shouted in disbelief.

“What?

You have two wands?” Elavin smiled and nodded.

“That’s unbelievable.

How can anyone have two wands?” Harry asked.

Elavin countered, “Let me ask you — how many hands do you have?” “Two?” “How many hands do you need to hold a wand?” “One?” Elavin nodded approvingly.

“See?

That’s exactly the point.” “One hand can hold one wand.” “I have two hands, so it’s perfectly reasonable for me to hold two wands.” “But that’s obviously not right!” Harry scratched his head.

“I mean, Mr.

Ollivander said the wand chooses the wizard, not the other way around.” “The wand choosing the wizard is true, of course.” “But is it so hard to understand that an exceptional wizard can earn the loyalty of multiple wands?” “It’s like how outstanding boys naturally attract admiration.” Elavin put his wand away.

“I seriously doubt you actually grew up in the Muggle world,” Ron said.

“You fit into the wizarding world even better than I do!” Just then, thumping footsteps sounded.

The compartment door suddenly slid open.

Hermione and Neville stepped inside again.

“Are you alright?” Neville looked nervously at Harry.

“They said Harry turned Malfoy into a golden toad.

Is that true?” Hermione looked worried and slightly reproachful.

“I can’t believe it!” “We haven’t even arrived yet, and you’re already fighting and causing such a big mess!” Harry was about to explain, but Elavin answered first.

“Yes, it’s true.” “Because Malfoy insulted me and called me an inferior wizard, Harry stood up for me.” “Don’t worry — if the professors question it, I’ll explain things for Harry.” Hermione relaxed.

“Oh, I see.

That’s good, then.

Thank you.” Elavin waved cheerfully.

“You’re welcome.” Harry: “…” Something wasn’t right!

Why did it feel like he was really about to take the blame for this?!

“You’d better change into your robes.” “I asked the driver at the front — he said we’re almost there.” With that, Hermione hurried off with Neville.

The three looked out the window.

Sure enough, night had already fallen outside.
