“Lilith Nott!” A boy with black curly hair abruptly stood up, glaring at the golden-haired doll-like girl as if blaming her for being too talkative and recklessly stirring up conflict.
Although, that was indeed the case.
Lusa observed the boy with interest. Apart from a momentary flash of anger, his face remained almost expressionless—a standard icy poker face. Only when he looked at the little golden-haired beauty did his eyes hold deep loathing and contempt.
Strange, doesn’t this boy appreciate doll-like beauties, or is there another reason?
“I don’t think Lilith meant it, Theodore. Be gentler with girls; she is your sister, after all.” A dark-skinned boy with peach-blossom eyes soothed the one called Theodore, then flashed a lethally charming smile. In a rather gentle tone, he introduced himself, “Blaise Zabini. Pleased to meet you, Miss Riddle. It seems you haven’t answered Miss Nott’s question yet. I believe you have the right to speak.”
Though it appeared he was defending Miss Nott, Lusa knew this Blaise was clever and quite adept at reading the situation. He was giving her a chance to explain, or perhaps a step to ease internal tensions. Lusa understood his intent and nodded at him. “Lusa Riddle. Unfortunately, I’m a Half-blood.”
Although Lusa didn’t care about pure-blood or Half-blood status and thought such heroics based on bloodline were utterly foolish.
But here in Slytherin, one must adapt to local customs. Should she stubbornly stick out her neck, flaunting her extraordinary rebelliousness, and angrily retort: Hmph! What nonsense pure-blood superiority! So what if I’m a Muggle-born?! Come on, hit me! Try to kick me out of Hogwarts! Let’s see if you dare!
That would be far too arrogant and stupid! She’d definitely get ambushed and beaten to a pulp, left half-dead if not worse.
“Half-blood? Well, at least that’s cleaner than Mudblood!” Draco Malfoy wrinkled his nose as if disgusted by the term “Mudblood,” speaking without any courtesy. Even when met with Lusa’s cool, half-smiling gaze, he merely twitched the corner of his mouth, still arrogantly looking down his nose. “Riddle, since you’ve been sorted into Slytherin, don’t let the other half of your blood tarnish the nobility of being a wizard.”
Hah, where’s the nobility in that?
Given your lack of brains, I won’t bother holding a grudge against you. Lusa thought magnanimously. Considering your father Lucius still holds some influence and skill, I’ll just note you down in my little book for now.
But, Merlin, what kind of script did she get? Why, just as one arrogant Malfoy quieted down, another white lotus appeared?
“I’m sorry, Riddle, I didn’t mean it. My brother always misunderstands me. I’m sure you won’t mind my careless words, right?” Lilith Nott wore an innocent, beautiful little face, pitifully leaning closer to Malfoy while her watery eyes fixed on Lusa, putting on an affected expression that screamed, “If you don’t say you forgive me, you’re not kind.”
Wow, where did this Qiong Yao-style little white flower come from? Wait, wasn’t there no Lilith Nott in the Harry Potter series?
The most famous girl with “Lily” in her name was only Harry’s mother, Lily Evans.
Lucius’s mind was racing. She remembered there was a character named Theodore Nott in the movies, from one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight families. It seemed there weren’t many Notts in this generation—aside from the Death Eater Mr. Nott Sr., there was only an only son, Theodore Nott. So where on earth did this Lilith Nott come from?
Could she be a transmigrator from the modern world, just like herself?
Otherwise, why would she act so much like a naive, delicate flower? Probably watched too many of Qiong Yao’s dramas—utterly baffling. If she really was a fellow transmigrator, why would she start targeting her the first time they met?
But her acting skills were truly subpar, bordering on nauseating.
Her surname was Riddle, so this Lilith should also know Voldemort’s real name. Since they couldn’t have a harmonious “fellow transmigrators meeting with tears in their eyes” moment, she would just have to observe this suspected transmigrator and deal with whatever came her way. After all, Lilith wouldn’t dare expose her own identity either—otherwise, she’d be in trouble herself.
As Lucius pondered this, a deeply sarcastic smile appeared on her face. “I didn’t expect Miss Nott to have such self-awareness, recognizing her own recklessness and rudeness. I’m deeply gratified.”
Before Lilith could change her expression and angrily retort, Lucius continued, “I believe Miss Nott should not only apologize to me for her unladylike behavior but also to Mr. Nott. What do you mean by ‘my brother always misunderstands you’? That statement is quite ambiguous. In my opinion, Mr. Nott was simply being too much of a gentleman—he only called your name without bluntly pointing out your rudeness. That was already quite considerate, wasn’t it?”
“You…” Lilith’s face flushed purple with rage. If not for her desire to maintain an elegant and perfect ladylike demeanor in front of the boy she fancied, she would have long since lunged at Lucius with a ferocious expression, tearing apart that beautiful face and that overly sharp tongue.
Lilith Nott was also a transmigrator. Her original name was Huang Meili. In her previous life, she was the illegitimate daughter of a wealthy playboy. Though never acknowledged by the main family, she still inherited a portion of the estate. Even without working a day, she could live comfortably by staying home reading novels, watching videos, and idly playing keyboard warrior online. She owned three properties and two shops, and the rent she collected alone exceeded half a year’s salary for an ordinary office worker.
Aside from partying, shopping, dating, and being a homebody playing games, she did little else.
Because of her obsession with the newly released Harry Potter mobile game, Huang Meili unfortunately died from staying up all night playing—she was only twenty-six.
But luckily, Huang Meili was reborn into the Harry Potter magical world. Her fate wasn’t bad at all—in fact, it was even better than her previous life. From birth, she was the little princess of the Nott family, named Lilith Nott.
She perfectly inherited her mother’s blonde hair and blue eyes, possessing innate beauty and her father’s noble pure-blood lineage. At home, if not exactly able to command the wind and rain, she lived in comfort and privilege, feeling quite pleased with herself.
Even during the period when her father, Mr. Nott Sr., nearly ended up in Azkaban after Voldemort’s disappearance, Lilith had never been publicly humiliated like this—and in front of Draco, no less! It was utterly mortifying!
Lilith admitted it—she hated Lucius, this outsider.
When she heard the name Lusa Riddle, especially the distinctive surname Riddle, she realized that this world was not home to only one transmigrator like herself. She felt furious and filled with a sense of crisis—not because she feared the other might be Voldemort’s daughter, but because she worried this person might steal her heroine’s halo.
A world with two transmigrators inevitably meant one would be the heroine and the other a supporting female character. Lilith, of course, had no intention of playing the supporting role. She was beautiful, came from a good family, and was destined to marry the Platinum Prince, Draco, becoming the envied Mrs. Malfoy.
Thus, even when facing Lusa, a suspected fellow transmigrator, Lilith felt no joy—only malice.
If she could make the people of Slytherin believe Lusa was a lowly Muggle-born, then this Riddle girl’s days would surely be miserable. After that, she could secretly fan the flames…
But fantasies were plump, while reality was bony. Lilith never expected her cheap brother to suddenly yell at her, nor that Blaise—who had always treated her fairly well—would meddle in her affairs. What hurt even more was that after Lusa Riddle ruthlessly mocked and ridiculed her, Draco actually shot her a disdainful glance and distanced himself from her. Her rival, Pansy Parkinson, watched the scene with increasingly unrestrained, mocking amusement…
“Ah—you’re all horrible!” Lilith screamed, then rushed out of the bustling Great Hall.
