Natasha’s Light of Redemption!
21: Chapter 21 Hospital Miracle!
Natasha’s Light of Redemption!
In the afternoon, the automatic doors of the hospital lobby slid open, and Nari, carrying the nutritious meal prepared for his daughter, stepped inside.
The entire noisy lobby seemed to have a mute button pressed, instantly falling silent.
The young nurse at the front desk, who was on the phone, dropped her phone onto the desk with a ‘thud’.
The intern doctor pushing a medicine cart nearby fumbled, almost dropping several bottles of saline solution.
Even the patients and family members sitting on the long benches, waiting for their numbers to be called, all turned their heads in unison, their movements as synchronized as if they had undergone military training.
A small boy in a hospital gown tugged at his mother’s sleeve and shouted, “Mom, look!
It’s Natasha!
Is she here to give us injections?” His mother immediately covered his mouth, yet her own eyes were fixated on the scene.
Nari felt like he wasn’t visiting a patient but attending some new product launch.
Under the gaze of everyone in the room, his mind was frantically scrolling: Calm down, I’m just delivering food.
Yes, an ordinary citizen in a red and white uniform, carrying an insulated lunchbox.
Just then, a middle-aged man in a white coat and gold-rimmed glasses walked out of the director’s office.
He was Aiko’s attending physician, Dr.
Shiku.
Dr.
Shiku was looking down at the medical records in his hand, muttering, “Why has this child’s condition relapsed again…” He looked up, wondering why the lobby was so quiet, and then he froze in place.
The medical record book in his hand scattered to the floor with a ‘clatter’.
Dr.
Shiku adjusted his glasses and blinked hard.
Indeed, a living, breathing Natasha, seemingly stepped out of a game, was standing in the center of the lobby, carrying an insulated lunchbox identical to his own.
As a rigorous materialist medical professional, Dr.
Shiku felt a huge crack appearing in his worldview, which had been established for over thirty years.
He mechanically walked over, helped Nari press the elevator button, remaining silent the entire time, only looking at him with an expression of someone studying a prehistoric creature.
Nari felt his scalp tingle under the gaze and could only brace himself and enter the elevator.
After the elevator doors closed, Dr.
Shiku picked up the medical records from the floor and murmured, “An illusion…
I must have had too many surgeries recently, causing hallucinations…” Nari arrived at Aiko’s ward.
Dr.
Shiku had already given a heads-up.
After he left, Nari pushed the door open and entered.
Aiko on the hospital bed was very weak, her small face lacking color, but her eyes brightened when she saw Nari enter.
“Fairy…
Daddy?” Nari placed the insulated lunchbox on the bedside table, sat on the bed, and habitually reached out to touch her forehead to check her temperature.
Aiko, however, turned her head, pouted her small mouth, and protested in a childish voice, “Why does Fairy Daddy want to touch my forehead!
Mommy said that if someone touches your forehead, you won’t grow big!” Nari almost laughed in exasperation.
This little girl, so sick, yet still thinking about such trivial things.
He felt both annoyed and amused, but mostly heartache.
He gently placed his hand on Aiko’s forehead, silently wishing in his heart: Get well soon, my little darling.
In that instant, he felt a faint warm current in his palm.
A soft white light, almost imperceptible to the naked eye, flashed from Aiko’s body and disappeared.
This was Natasha’s healing ability, [Maternal Radiance].
Nari himself was stunned for a moment, thinking it was just sunlight reflecting from outside the window.
But then, he saw Aiko’s originally pale cheeks turn a healthy rosy color at an incredible speed.
“Huh?” Aiko herself felt it.
She blinked her big eyes, “Daddy, I feel like…
I’m not so uncomfortable anymore.” As she spoke, she actually propped herself up in bed, and then, under Nari’s astonished gaze, she threw off the covers and jumped directly off the hospital bed!
“Wow!
I’m better!
I’m really better!” Aiko bounced twice on the floor, as happy as a little rabbit, “My Daddy really is a Fairy Daddy!” Natasha Nari’s heart almost leaped out of his throat.
He quickly covered Aiko’s mouth, nervously glancing at the door.
Alarm mixed with excitement was evident on Natasha’s beautiful, mature face, making her look both innocent and seductive.
“Shh!
Aiko, quiet!
This is our secret, you can’t tell anyone, understand?” “Oh!
This is my and Daddy’s secret, Daddy and I have a secret!” Aiko nodded vigorously, but a cunning glint sparkled in her bright, big eyes.
Nari pursed his lips helplessly.
He had an ominous premonition that this girl would definitely sell him out for an ice cream.
Soon after, the ward door was pushed open.
Seeing Aiko suddenly out of bed startled him instantly.
“Aiko, how did you get out of bed?
This behavior is very dangerous.” Dr.
Shiku gave a reproachful look at the flattered Natasha Nari.
“Mr.
Nari…
uh, Mr.
Nari, how can you be so careless.” “Oh!
Dr.
Shiku, I’m so sorry, I’ll be more careful next time.” Nari quickly apologized, but under the succubus Natasha’s aura, there was a misleading impression of being endearing.
Looking at Natasha like this, Dr.
Shiku subtly swallowed, his face slightly flushed.
Damn, how could he bear to scold such a beautiful face.
“Oh!
It’s nothing…
just be careful in the future, that’s all…” Dr.
Shiku quickly changed the subject and began to examine Aiko.
Soon, he rushed back in with an expedited examination report, a look of having seen a ghost on his face.
“Impossible!
This is absolutely impossible!” He rushed to the hospital bed, saw it was empty, then saw Aiko happily jumping around on the floor, examining her toes.
The report in his hand was trembling.
“Nari…
Aiko, you…” Dr.
Shiku pointed at Aiko, unable to complete his sentence, “All your indicators…
how…
how did they suddenly return to normal?
Especially the inflammation index, it’s a cliff-like drop!
This is not scientific!” Aiko saw Dr.
Shiku, immediately puffed out her small chest, and proudly pointed at Nari, announcing loudly, “Fairy Sister helped me!
She touched my head, and my illness was cured!” Upon hearing this, Nari felt his blood pressure shoot up instantly.
He looked at Aiko reproachfully.
What a daughter, always getting her father into trouble!
Aiko, however, pouted stubbornly, with a triumphant air that said, ‘I know your secret.’ Dr.
Shiku, of course, didn’t believe a child’s words.
He simply turned his gaze to Nari.
It was a complex expression, a mix of shock, confusion, inquiry, and a hint of awe.
He was a doctor; he believed in science.
But everything happening before his eyes, and the report in his hand, were violently challenging his scientific beliefs that he had held for decades.
Could it be…
that in this world, there really exist forces that science cannot explain?
Nari felt uncomfortable under his gaze and was about to find an excuse to explain, something like, “Maybe the hospital food is more nutritious.” The ward door was pushed open once again.
A cool-looking girl in a blue and white school uniform, carrying a school bag, stood at the doorway.
She was also carrying an insulated lunchbox, evidently also here to deliver food.
It was Nari’s eldest daughter, Masako.
Masako’s expression was usually calm, but the moment she clearly saw the situation inside the ward, a crack appeared on her perpetually icy face.
She saw her sister, bouncing around.
She saw Dr.
Shiku, looking as if he had seen a ghost.
Then, she saw the woman standing next to her sister, dressed in a red and white nurse’s uniform, with a figure so good it would make all girls want to call the police…
That woman also happened to turn her head.
Their eyes met.
Masako clearly saw that face.
It was a face she had seen for years, a face so familiar it couldn’t be more familiar.
It was her dad, Nari’s face.
The insulated lunchbox in Masako’s hand fell to the floor with a ‘clang’.
