“Come inside. Let’s sit down in the courtyard and talk.”

Nobunaga supported Uvogin as they followed Renn into the courtyard.

Machi stood off to the side.Full novel: Hunter x Hunter: I Grow Stronger by Disassembling Everything — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Renn pointed toward a bench.

“Sit.”

“I’ll introduce myself first. I’m Renn, and this is Machi. At the moment, our team consists of just the two of us.”

“According to the agreement we made earlier, you lost.”

“So from now on, the two of you will be my subordinates—in other words, members of my team.”

“Any objections?”

Nobunaga shook his head.

“No. A bet is a bet, and we lost. But we have one condition.”

“What condition?”

“It’s not fair for one match to decide that we’ll be your subordinates forever. I want the right to challenge you again in the future. If we win, this arrangement ends.”

“Fine.”

Renn nodded.

“Once a year, each of you will get one opportunity to challenge me.”

“But both sides have to agree on when the challenge takes place.”

“I can’t take advantage of you when you’re in poor condition, and you can’t challenge me when I’m in poor condition either.”

Nobunaga nodded.

“Agreed.”

Renn sat down.

“Then I’ll explain my plans.”

“Our team will specialize in cleanup work, including but not limited to battlefields, areas left behind after military conflicts, and sites where mafia groups have fought.”

“We’ll also take jobs involving ruins, abandoned buildings, and similar places.”

Nobunaga raised a question.

“Why take that kind of work?”

“Because it suits my Nen ability. With my ability, we can handle those jobs better than other teams doing similar work, and at a lower cost.”

With a thought, Renn called out,

“Disassembler!”

The Disassembler immediately appeared beside him.

“What’s that?”

“It’s part of my Nen ability.”

“I know that, but what category are you?” Nobunaga asked, clearly confused. Visit g.com for the full chapter.

“When you fought me and Uvogin earlier, you looked exactly like an Enhancer.”

“I’m not an Enhancer.”

Renn smiled.

“I’m a Specialist. The only reason you thought I was an Enhancer is because the two of you are too weak.”

“Neither of you was strong enough to force me to use my real strength.”

Nobunaga and Uvogin both looked irritated at that, but they had indeed lost.

“Nobunaga, toss me your sword.”

“What for?”

“I’ll give you an example.”

Nobunaga hesitated, then handed the sword to Renn.

Renn immediately tossed it into the Disassembler.

“Clack, clack!”

“Ding!”

“Disassembly successful. EXP gained: 28.”

“Swordsmanship Fundamentals acquired: 38. Current progress: 100%.”

“Swordsmanship Fundamentals progress has reached 100%. Upgrading to Swordsmanship Mastery. Current progress: 0%.”

Several Clear Cube Fragments appeared and were immediately stored in Renn’s Inventory.

Renn raised an eyebrow.

The reason he hadn’t wanted to use the Slayer Character panel before wasn’t because he disliked it.

His Swordsmanship skill had simply remained at the fundamentals level, preventing him from bringing out the Slayer’s true strength.

But now that his Swordsmanship had reached mastery, the Slayer would no longer be weaker than the Fighter.

Of course, the Gunner was still his strongest option.

After all, the Gunner was currently the only Character panel with equipment.

“Where’s my sword?”

Nobunaga stared at him wide-eyed.

“It’s gone.”

Renn said, “That’s my ability. It’s called the Disassembler. As the name suggests, it can disassemble almost anything.”

“Corpses, weapons, armor, and all kinds of other objects can be broken down by it.”

Nobunaga’s expression darkened.

“So I can’t get my sword back?”

Renn continued, “To prove how my ability works, I had to use something you were personally attached to. That way, you’d be more convinced.”

“But don’t worry. I’ll compensate you with another sword.”

“It won’t be any worse than the one you had before.”

Of course, Renn hadn’t actually disassembled Nobunaga’s sword merely to prove his ability.

He had done it to improve his Swordsmanship skill.

“I…”

Nobunaga looked deeply frustrated.

But there wasn’t much he could say.

Technically, he was now Renn’s subordinate.

And Renn had already promised to replace the sword with one that was at least as good.

Still, that sword had been with Nobunaga for many years.

He couldn’t help feeling reluctant to lose it.

“Now it’s your turn. Introduce yourselves and explain your abilities.”

Uvogin stood up.

“I’m Uvogin. I’m an Enhancer. My ability is my fists.”

“I’m Nobunaga Hazama. Just call me Nobunaga. Like Uvogin, I’m also an Enhancer. I specialize in swordsmanship, especially quick-draw techniques. Without a weapon, my strength drops considerably.”

Renn looked toward Machi.

“Machi, introduce yourself too.”

“Okay.”

Machi stepped forward.

“I’m Machi, a Transmuter. Right now, I’m still training in the Four Major Principles of Nen.”

Nobunaga glanced at her.

“Captain, is someone this weak really suited to working with us?”

Machi’s expression immediately darkened.

That was far too insulting.

“Of course she is,” Renn said.

“Machi has extremely accurate intuition, and it won’t take long before she reaches roughly the same level as the two of you.”

“You don’t need to worry about that.”

The sounds of fighting outside gradually died away.

A group of people arrived outside the courtyard.
