Wuning nervously prepared herself.

Ever since treating Cook and Eli, Wuning had indeed become somewhat hesitant to casually enter others’ mental landscapes.

She noticed that when guides or females performed soothing, it didn’t seem to be a big deal. Was it because she didn’t have SSS-level Mental Power?

Headquarters was too stingy—they didn’t even give her this little cheat ability.

“Trust me,” Bo Yin whispered in assurance, his gray eyes devoid of pressure, only a calm strength flowing silently within them.

Wuning nodded, took several deep breaths, and released her Mental Power.

She trusted Bo Yin, and she trusted herself.

She wouldn’t let a little pain hold her back.

Bo Yin’s calm and composed demeanor in the face of Mental Power made Wuning feel relaxed and reassured.

Honestly, the previous few had been a bit too much like addicts.

“Uh… it’s pitch black. Did I get in?” Wuning asked with her eyes closed, sounding puzzled.

Bo Yin’s silver-white eyelashes trembled violently for a moment, his breath tense and restrained. “Mm, don’t be afraid.”

Wuning turned left and right in the darkness, feeling a bit confused.

There was nothing here.

Void.

“What should I do?” Wuning couldn’t help but ask.

“Just stay inside,” Bo Yin replied, staring at the girl before him as he raised his hand and covered her eyes.

Then he leaned down deeply, inhaling her scent.

From her hair, to her cheek, to the hollow of her neck, he finally pressed Wuning firmly onto the bed, burying his face in the Medic’s embrace, revealing a disheveled and fierce side.

During mental power guidance, most Medics tended to ignore their physical surroundings and bodily sensations.

So Wuning had no idea what was happening to her at that moment.

Following Bo Yin’s instructions, she sat quietly in the darkness.

When she grew tired of sitting, she chose to lie down.

Slightly relaxed, she swayed her feet lazily, almost drifting off to sleep.

What was going on? Was this Bo Yin’s spiritual world? It felt so safe—truly befitting of a leader.

But the man wasn’t faring as well.

A rich, intoxicating scent surged through his body like a roaring tide.

Something so gentle, soothing, and beautiful, yet as it washed over him, it brought intense pain and overwhelming pleasure.

Bo Yin restrained himself, lifting his face to slow his breathing. Unfathomable dark mist swirled in his gray eyes, lest he inhale too deeply and lose himself in ecstasy.

This turmoil directly affected his spiritual world.

Wuning leaped up from the ground, clutching her buttocks. “It’s so hot!”

She struggled to open her eyes to see what was happening, but as her eyelashes fluttered, she felt someone covering her eyes.

“Sorry,” the man’s low, hoarse voice sounded by her ear.

“I’m feeling a bit hot right now.”

A bit? That was an understatement.

He looked as if he had taken the strongest aphrodisiac, his skin beneath the uniform and mask flushed with a conspicuous damp redness.

Fortunately, no one else knew except him.

Bo Yin continued to cover the girl’s eyes while using his free hand to pull the mask away from his collar, revealing his sharply defined jawline and throat.

He gently kissed Wuning’s cheek.

Inside the mental landscape, Wuning froze instantly, unsure of what that sensation had been. It felt a bit terrifying, as if her entire body had been licked.

“Major General, are you done checking?” Wuning couldn’t help but ask.

Bo Yin murmured lowly that he wasn’t.

The man’s tall, straight nose lingered over the Medic’s nape and collarbone, his thin lips planting soft kisses.

Lower down, his prominent Adam’s apple slid sensually as if swallowing something, unbearably seductive.

Suddenly, he straightened up and swiftly pulled down his mask, his gaze sharp and gloomy as he fixed it on the door.

Sanchez pushed the door open, pretending not to notice the leader’s movement. “There’s an urgent mission.”

A moment later, everyone was geared up and ready to go. Wuning was also carried onto the fighter jet, her eyes filled with confusion. “Wait, am I going too?”

“Of course,” Sanchez said as he fastened her seatbelt.

“I’m just a B-rank Medic?” Wuning tried to remind him.

“I’ll hold you all back.”

Even though she had been training diligently lately, she couldn’t possibly compare to ordinary soldiers, let alone the Polluted.

“Don’t worry, we’re not going to the Dark Sky Zone this time, just cleaning up some trash,” Garnet said, sitting across from her, thrilled to be on a mission with Wuning.

Aha, he was determined to perform exceptionally well! He had to be number one in enemy kills!

“We’ll ensure your safety,” Sanchez said casually, raising an eyebrow as he handed the mask in his hand to Wuning, asking her to put it on for him.

“The safest place in the universe is near Squad 191. That’s common knowledge.”

Wuning showed a hint of strange suspicion.

Really?

All the danger she had faced so far had come from Squad 191!

Would she discover that it wasn’t raining outside once she left Squad 191?

Sanchez leaned in close, urging in a low voice, “Put it on for me?”

Wuning’s attention was diverted. “Now that I’m also a member of Squad 191, do I need to wear a mask too?”

The fighter jet suddenly jolted violently a few times, and Garnet shouted angrily, “Cook! Are you trying to kill us? The Medic is here!”

Cook, in the pilot’s seat, yelled back just as loudly, “Impossible! Even if I wanted to crash you all, I’d wait until she had a parachute and jumped out!”

“Then what are you doing? Are you so weak you can’t hold the control stick?” Garnet grumbled angrily.

Cook didn’t respond.

Sanchez spoke for him.

The man leaned intimately and smugly against Wuning, exaggeratingly drawing out his words in a sweet, syrupy tone, “Oh my, oh my, are you confessing to us, little lamb?”

“We accept. Now, can I have a kiss, babygirl?”

Wuning raised her hand and pressed the metal mask onto Sanchez’s face. “Don’t twist my words, sir.”

“Besides, when I first arrived, I said I was the voluntarily assigned accompanying Medic. At that time, Lieutenant Sanchez choked me pretty hard.”

Sanchez flusteredly explained and apologized, “Oh, forgive me, baby. I was wrong. My narrow-mindedness blinded me to you, and this will forever be a stain I can’t wash away.”

Wuning smiled at him without saying a word.

While Sanchez pleaded and coaxed, Garnet anxiously declared his innocence. “I didn’t do anything. I’ve always been good. Can you like me?”

“Oh, really? You were the one who said you’d skin her and use it to clean your gun before she even walked in,” Sanchez said coldly.

Garnet protested, “I—I was talking about someone else! If it were anyone else, I definitely would! But not her!”

If the fighter jet weren’t flying at high speed, Garnet would have undoubtedly unbuckled his seatbelt and lunged at Sanchez to punch him hard.

“Let’s not talk about this now. We’re on a mission. Where’s Eli?” Wuning gently pushed Sanchez away.

“He injured a Medic and is being punished according to military regulations. However, the Major General went to pick him up. He’ll continue his punishment after the mission ends,” Sanchez said, his tone light and cheerful.

Wuning glanced at him, and the man’s heart sank with instant regret.

He immediately put on a worried expression. “But we’re all very concerned about him.”

He had forgotten—the little lamb was a kind-hearted, well-behaved child who seemed unwilling to let them quarrel.

His usually smooth and cunning tongue stumbled over the words, making them sound utterly unconvincing.

Meanwhile, the innocent Garnet stared at Sanchez with a horrified look. “Cook! Has Sanchez been possessed by something filthy?! He just said he was worried about Eli!”

From the driver’s seat came a surprised, low mutter in slang. “Really? Then maybe he has a crush on Eli.”

Sanchez: “…”

Idiot, stop disgusting him!

A few hours later, they arrived at the military port, where they met up with Bo Yin and Eli, along with other units assigned to this mission, before heading together to the mission planet.

Wuning felt as if he were being swallowed up by a crowd of giants.

And it seemed he didn’t see any other Medics around.

The warship reserved most of its open space for the Polluted, with the best, most hidden, and safest spot belonging to Squad 191.

Wuning finally saw Eli.

He gasped.
