Beside him, having finished posting to Moments and sitting idle, Ji Jinwei watched Shi Yi bent over his phone, hesitating several times as if she wanted to say something.

In the end she couldn’t hold it back, “Actually, Shi Yi, I think President Lu really is good to you, really, in all my years I’ve never seen someone with such a good temper, such a… devoted person.”

Shi Yi and Lu Huaiqian had been married three years, and Ji Jinwei had known Shi Yi for three years too.Full novel: Husband, Please Pay Some Attention to Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Because of Shi Yi, Ji Jinwei had privately met Lu Huaiqian quite a few times, and she knew how good Lu Huaiqian was to Shi Yi.

No matter what Lu Huaiqian was doing, as long as Shi Yi was willing to call him, Lu Huaiqian would definitely come.

Even if Lu Huaiqian had already boarded a flight abroad, the moment he got off the plane, if he saw a message from Shi Yi telling him to come back.

He would definitely find a way to rush back as fast as possible.

Wherever he went, he’d bring Shi Yi a gift.

A large portion of the famous luxury items at auctions ended up with the Lu family, in Shi Yi’s hands.

He’d never once had a falling-out with Shi Yi. Even when Shi Yi got angry and cursed at him, no matter how harsh the words, Lu Huaiqian never got angry, only kept humbly and gently coaxing him.

Shi Yi held absolute say over Lu Huaiqian.

Someone like that, rich, good-looking, and capable, it could be said very few people wouldn’t be moved by him, but Shi Yi just happened to dislike him.

He even loathed him.

“Is that so?” Shi Yi raised his head, those eyes still carrying the warmth of a smile looked straight at Ji Jinwei in the hazy, dim light, making her heart skip a beat.

Shi Yi looked at Ji Jinwei, his tone trailing off with a smile, his mood unclear, “What, do you like Lu Huaiqian now too?”

Ji Jinwei snapped back to herself and said hurriedly, “Like him, my ass. You know perfectly well I’ve been into women since birth, I’m not interested in men at all.”

Having said that, Ji Jinwei explained further, “I just think, you two have been married this long now, and I can see you don’t hate gay people, so why not try accepting Lu Huaiqian a little?”

“Well, that’s convenient, I’m not interested in men either.” Shi Yi’s eyes kept smiling, “I really don’t hate gay people, I just find Lu Huaiqian disgusting. All right, stop worrying about me, go check whether your Ning Qian has responded yet.”

Shi Yi wasn’t angry that Ji Jinwei had suddenly spoken up for Lu Huaiqian.

He knew she didn’t mean anything by it, she just wanted him to live a little more at ease.

But ever since Lu Huaiqian made that proposal to the Shi family three years ago, he’d been destined never to be at ease for the rest of his life.

If he wasn’t happy, then nobody else got to be happy either.

Tormenting each other, that was pretty fun too.

“I’m not looking, whether she’s responded or not is none of my business, I’ve already decided, this time I’m definitely breaking up with her!” Ji Jinwei pouted and glared, talking tough, but the next second, she still picked up her phone.

Seeing this, Shi Yi couldn’t help but smile, and bent his head to open his Moments comments again too.

Among the dozen-plus messages, he finally saw a few familiar faces.

【Human Trafficker No. 1: Shi Yi, what do you think you’re doing?! What are you up to now? Who told you to go out fooling around? Delete that Moments post right now, if you’re not embarrassed I am.】

【Human Trafficker No. 1: Just because Xiao Qian doesn’t discipline you, do you really think you can do whatever you want?】

【Human Trafficker No. 1: How many times have I told you, you’re already married, do you still think you’re unmarried? Is this how you repay Xiao Qian? I’m telling you, delete that Moments post right now, then go apologize to Xiao Qian!】

【Lu Yunyi: Shi Yi, you’re absolutely shameless! No sense of decency as a husband!!!! I’m telling my brother! My brother must have been blind, I really don’t know how my brother fell for someone as shameless as you, I will never, ever acknowledge you as my sister-in-law! I’m going to make my brother divorce you!】

【Shi Yi replying to Human Trafficker No. 1: Oh, deleted it? Too bad I’ve already sent the photos to your Xiao Qian. What now, Mom? Do you think once your Xiao Qian sees them he’ll cut off your and Dad’s cards? And won’t Dad’s company take a hit too? Whatever will we do, hahahahaha.】

【Shi Yi replying to Human Trafficker No. 1: Say, Mom, when you sold me off to Lu Huaiqian, did you not tell him I have a pretty bad temper?】

【Shi Yi replying to Lu Yunyi: I don’t know either, maybe it’s because your brother is lower than most people? Smiley face jpg.】

【Shi Yi replying to Lu Yunyi: Also, don’t worry, I don’t need your acknowledgment. This life, the next life, the life after that, I could never be your sister-in-law.】

【Shi Yi replying to Lu Yunyi: Furthermore, if you can actually get your brother to divorce me, then I would really thank…】

Shi Yi’s arm, mid-typing, was nudged.

Ji Jinwei leaned close and said, “Feels like it’s not much fun with just the two of us, how about we call some hostesses over?”

“Call them if you want.” Shi Yi finished typing his two words, sent the reply, put his phone away, and winked suggestively at Ji Jinwei, “What, did your Ning Qian see your Moments post?”

“Don’t bring her up to me, whether she saw it or not has nothing to do with me. We’ve already broken up.” Ji Jinwei huffed indignantly, raised her hand and pressed the call bell in the room, and said to the staff with the air of someone rich and entitled, “We need handsome guys to drink with us, the more handsome the better, the more the better.”

Having said that, without waiting for the staff to respond, she hung up right away.

Shi Yi just watched her and smiled, saying nothing.

How could he not know Ji Jinwei by now?

The louder she made a fuss, the less likely she was to actually break up, she was just waiting for someone to come coax her, like a child.

Within a few minutes, the staff led seven or eight uniformed male hostesses in a grand procession and knocked on the VIP room’s door.

Just as the staff was about to speak, Ji Jinwei waved the hostesses over directly, “Come here, sit with us and have a drink.”

The hostesses got the message immediately, gathered around, sat down smiling beside Shi Yi and Ji Jinwei, picked up the bottles, and poured drinks for the two of them.

Ji Jinwei couldn’t hold her liquor, and Shi Yi knew that calling the hostesses over wasn’t really about drinking.

Shi Yi glanced at Ji Jinwei and stopped the one pouring her a drink, “She’s not drinking, no need to pour for her, just play a game with her for a while.”

Shi Yi suggested playing the frog-counting game, and Ji Jinwei lost the first round.

In the argument between Ji Jinwei and Shi Yi, when Ji Jinwei finally gave in and was about to lift a glass of juice to chug it, her gaze suddenly landed on one of the hostesses sitting at the very edge, and her expression froze.

The juice she was holding didn’t move for a long while.

Shi Yi noticed her gaze and her stillness, and couldn’t help teasing, “What are you looking at? Are you trying to dodge the juice too? Drink up quick, no cheating.”

“It’s not that.” Ji Jinwei snapped back and leaned in close to Shi Yi, pointing at the guy she’d been looking at, “Xiao Yi, do you recognize that handsome guy? Why do I feel like he looks a bit like you?”

“What?” Shi Yi followed her line of sight.

In the dim light of the room, a fine-featured face was looking back at them too, with slightly upturned phoenix eyes carrying a hint of fatigue.

The next second, dark pupils rippled with a smile, red lips curving up slightly, and the hostess stood and walked over toward Shi Yi and Ji Jinwei, “Young Master Shi, Miss Ji, what’s up?”

Shi Yi and Ji Jinwei just kept looking at him, saying nothing.

He really did look alike, especially the eyes, except his eyes lacked the arrogance and confidence in Shi Yi’s, and his face wasn’t as fine-featured as Shi Yi’s.

But the overall look, and a certain feature, really did make it feel as if he and Shi Yi were true brothers.
