All these anomalies would never appear out of thin air, nor would they start changing all of a sudden. If such obvious changes had manifested over the past two years, then premonitions must have begun appearing much earlier than that.
Sang Hua began trying to recall some of the details he had overlooked before he went into seclusion.
However, before he could ponder much further, Duan Junyi began disrupting all his thoughts. Wrapping one arm tightly around Sang Hua’s waist, he pushed him into the cabin and let down all the curtains surrounding the interior.
In an instant, the space inside the cabin was completely isolated from the outside world. As the painted boat drifted slowly across the surface of the lake, fragments of sunlight filtered intermittently through the heavy curtains, spilling into the cabin and making the air within feel thick and viscous.
Duan Junyi pressed almost his entire weight against Sang Hua. The two of them were pressed so close together that with every breath they took, hot, scalding air brushed directly against Sang Hua’s cheeks and ears.
Who knew how much wine Duan Junyi had actually consumed? A hazy layer of mist had risen within his bright eyes, obscuring them.
Over these past few days, Sang Hua had grown far too accustomed to witnessing Duan Junyi’s sharp and icy demeanor. Beneath the influence of the alcohol, the hazy mist in his eyes melted away the cold exterior shell wrapped around Duan Junyi. For a moment, Sang Hua was lulled into believing that his little disciple had returned, making him reluctant to push the young man away from his body.
