Lu Qiao had only ever heard about this kind of “play” before always, and only, through the distant connections of others’ friends and relatives. He never imagined that just two months after his rebirth, he would encounter it himself, and worse, become the protagonist of such a story. The thought made Lu Qiao feel a strange, restless excitement.

Wait no, that won’t do!

Lu Qiao took a deep breath, turned his face away to avoid the man’s hand, and cried out in panic:

“Get out! If you don’t leave, I’ll call for help!”

A flicker of regret passed through Mo Yunchong’s eyes, but he hadn’t really expected anyone to be foolish enough to cause trouble on their wedding day. He took two steps back, gazing meaningfully at Lu Qiao as he said:

“Sister-in-law, we’ll meet again.”

Lu Qiao stared back expressionlessly.

Only after the man left the room did Lu Qiao sigh, pulling out his phone:

“Hey, Yu Jiadong.”

Yu Jiadong now prioritized Lu Qiao above all else, and on the wedding day, his most important task was to ensure everything went smoothly for him. The moment the phone rang, he answered immediately.

“Hey, Yu Jiadong, I’m in a room on the second floor. Come over here there’s something I need you to do.”

After hanging up, Lu Qiao looked toward the man in the hallway. The staircase between the second and first floors was some distance away, and Mo Yunchong was still walking down the corridor, his steps arrogant and dismissive.

Lu Qiao slipped his phone back into his suit pocket and silently followed. Just as the man was about to turn toward the staircase, Lu Qiao struck him with a swift chop to the neck. The man’s eyes rolled back, and he crumpled to the floor. Lu Qiao stepped aside, then, after a moment, reluctantly dragged the unconscious man back into the room.

A few minutes later, Yu Jiadong opened the door and walked in:

“What’s going on?”

Lu Qiao was sitting on the sofa by the window and gestured with his chin toward the back of the couch. Yu Jiadong walked over and nearly had a heart attack.

There was a man lying there

Wait, should he be worried that there was an extra man in his “younger brother’s” room on his wedding night, or should he be concerned about this man’s current state of unconsciousness and uncertain fate?

He was bearing far too much pressure for someone his age.

Lu Qiao motioned with his chin and said, “Take this person to a remote place and have someone beat him up.”

Yu Jiadong wondered if he had misheard.

“What? I didn’t catch that. Did you say beat him up?”

Lu Qiao replied nonchalantly, “Yeah.”

“But… why?” Isn’t this your wedding? Who wants to see violence on their wedding day?

Lu Qiao shot him a cold glance. “Just do as I say. Stop asking so many questions.”

“After the beating, remember to take photos. The goal should be similar to when you had people beat me up last time.”

Yu Jiadong recalled the gruesome state of his friends in those photos and couldn’t help but shiver.

He couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for the man on the floor. How had he managed to provoke Lu Qiao? Why would anyone willingly invite such trouble?

After Yu Jiadong carried the man away, Lu Qiao tossed his phone aside and leaned back on the sofa.

A trace of mockery flickered in his eyes.

A mere illegitimate son of Mo Beiqi, daring to show up at his and Mr. Mo’s wedding, speaking so arrogantly about Mr. Mo.

Since Mr. Mo had given him so many gifts, he would consider this his gift in return.

Lu Qiao rested in the room for a while before heading back out. Mo Hanzhou was no longer drinking and was chatting with a few friends. Lu Qiao walked over and naturally blended into their conversation.

The evening banquet lasted until half past eight. During that time, Lu Qiao received a message from Yu Jiadong. Looking at the photo of a face even a mother wouldn’t recognize, he gave a satisfied like.

Guests gradually began leaving the villa, though some remained, still in high spirits. By the later part of the evening, the newlyweds no longer needed to entertain. The two of them took a car back to the house at the foot of the mountain.

In the car, Mo Hanzhou held Lu Qiao’s hand and asked gently, “Are you tired?”

Lu Qiao shook his head. “Not tired.”

His condition today was indeed a bit unusual. While his current body had plenty of explosive power, its endurance was lacking. To put it in terms of fighting time, the old Lu Qiao could fight for ten hours straight without resting. Now, at most two hours and that was only if his opponents were all amateurs.

He had been busy from morning till night today, so he should have been tired, but

“I’m not tired. We still have something very important to do.” Lu Qiao’s eyes sparkled, his energy undiminished, even more vibrant than before.

“Oh?”

Mo Hanzhou pretended not to know. “What is it?”

Lu Qiao glanced at the driver in front, leaned in, and whispered in Mo Hanzhou’s ear.

“It’s something very important. If you can’t satisfy me, I’ll have to cheat.”

Mo Hanzhou pinched Lu Qiao’s chin hard. He was getting more and more audacious, now even acting spoiled and arrogant.

Lu Qiao rubbed his chin in pain, his words slightly muffled. “Anyway, you have to satisfy me.”

Mo Hanzhou chuckled without replying, only tracing a line on his thigh with his finger.

For the rest of the ride, the two fell into silence. Only the soft light in the car seemed to hold back words, as if conserving energy for something. When they arrived home, the servants had already prepared the bathwater.

Lu Qiao’s belongings had all been moved into the master bedroom, but the guest room was still kept clean and ready for use at any time.

Once upstairs, Lu Qiao said, “You go take a bath first.”

“And you?”

“Me? I’ll go wash in the other room.”

The boy, with an innocent expression on his face, lightly bit his full lips and said word by word:

“It’s already late. We should save time.”

Save time for what? Both of them knew the answer without saying it.

As someone with leg disabilities, bathing always came with its own set of troubles. Mo Hanzhou had strong self-respect and absolutely refused to let even the most basic physiological needs, like using the bathroom or bathing, require assistance from others.

He had spent a long time training himself to bathe alone. During the most painful period, he almost drowned in the despair of feeling like a useless burden every day. But his proud self-esteem refused to let him give in. No one knew the pain he endured to avoid appearing weak. Now, however, the suffering of the past had finally paid off

At the very least, after day after day of practice, he now had the courage to face his newlywed little wife with composure.

And the capability.

Mo Hanzhou stayed in the bathroom for nearly half an hour. By the time he came out, Lu Qiao was already waiting for him in the room.

In the warm, flowing light, Lu Qiao wore a loose robe, its lapels loosely crossed over his chest, revealing pale pink skin.

His new bride gazed at him softly, her eyes gentle and unreserved.

As if he were her master.

Mo Hanzhou couldn’t help but feel his heart sway.

“Sir,” Lu Qiao called out softly.

Mo Hanzhou extended his hand.

“Come here.”

The next morning, Lu Qiao woke up in high spirits!

He stretched lazily in bed, his face glowing with vitality and energy, clearly brimming with vigor.

And indeed, that was the case. Last night, driven by the dual motives of not letting the illegitimate child look down on him and considering their future intimate life, Lu Qiao had eagerly demanded from Mo Hanzhou.

And Mo Hanzhou did not disappoint him. He proved with his actions that he was a reliable man!

Truly worthy of being the one he had chosen!

Lu Qiao cheerfully went downstairs and found Mo Hanzhou having breakfast at the dining table. Seeing Lu Qiao’s radiant appearance, Mo Hanzhou paused his fork slightly, a thoughtful expression flickering across his brow.

Lu Qiao walked over and sat down at the table. Today’s breakfast was filled with the theme of “roundness.” Although Lu Qiao hadn’t fulfilled the function of “many children and grandchildren” or “a house full of descendants,” he could still strive for “reunion and harmony.”

The servant ladled six glutinous rice balls into his small porcelain bowl, filled with sweet sesame paste.

After finishing the rice balls, Lu Qiao was about to reach for a tissue on the table to wipe his mouth when he suddenly remembered something. He straightened his posture and picked up the handkerchief beside him, gently dabbing the corners of his mouth.

Mo Hanzhou watched him with amusement.

“What’s wrong? Is breakfast not to your liking today?”

“No,” the boy with a baby face said with a serious expression, “I’m an adult now. I can’t act or speak so childishly.”

Mo Hanzhou nearly burst out laughing. “Alright, alright,” he nodded repeatedly. “You’re an adult now.”

Lu Qiao pouted without saying a word. After Mo Hanzhou finished laughing, he asked, “Are you going to work today, sir?”

“There are many guests from afar who came for the wedding, and they need to be entertained.”

In fact, many companies that had friction or disagreements with the Mo family had sent representatives to attend the wedding. It was a Chinese custom to settle matters over a meal.

Some old-fashioned individuals who usually relied on their seniority to give Mo Hanzhou a hard time, making cooperation impossible, took advantage of the wedding occasion as a gift to Mo Hanzhou. They conceded profit points that had been negotiated for a long time without success, and the Mo family reciprocated with a slight “return gift,” allowing the other party to save face.

Such dull yet customary business talks weren’t worth mentioning to his newlywed little wife.

Mo Hanzhou nodded, then teased him, seeing his dignified “wife” demeanor. “Do you want to come with me?”

“No, being too clingy is annoying. I’ll just wait for you at home.”

Mo Hanzhou looked at his earnest expression and couldn’t help but find it amusing.

“Yes, our A’Qiao is a virtuous wife.”

The boy proudly shook his head.

The newlywed couple chatted for a while at the dining table before quickly changing clothes and heading out. Lu Qiao stood at the door, watching his husband leave. After the car drove away, he returned to his room.

He opened his computer and searched for Mo Hanzhou’s Baidu page. Looking at the long list of company names under Mo Hanzhou’s name, he couldn’t help but break into a blissful smile.

Ah, this was the symbol of happiness!

Lu Qiao closed his computer with satisfaction. The process of marrying into a wealthy family was quite busy, but the pre-wedding arrangements were handled by both the Mo and Lu families, and the post-wedding gifts for guests were managed by the butler. No one had the slightest expectation of him as the “husband of the household.” All he had to do was be a carefree, decorative vase.

Marrying Mo Hanzhou (a wealthy man) had been Lu Qiao’s lifelong dream. Now that it had come true, he felt an inexplicable sense of emptiness.

Bored, Lu Qiao spent a while spacing out in his room, only to realize that even games couldn’t ease this void. What would an empty, wealthy vase of a spouse do?

Lying on his back and staring at the chandelier on the ceiling, an idea slowly formed in Lu Qiao’s mind:

Shopping, of course!

Lu Qiao leaped off the bed, rushed to the door, and called out to the butler, “Uncle Zhuang, I want to go shopping. I won’t be back for lunch!”

Uncle Zhuang immediately responded, “Of course, Madam. I’ll arrange the car for you!”

Perfect. This was the life of the wealthy!

Lu Qiao didn’t have a strong shopping urge. Back in that endless world, all the money he earned went toward upgrading weapons and buying food. He did the most dangerous work but lived on the bare minimum.

After leaving that world, the dazzling array of games and movies in this new reality immediately captivated him. He spent his days gaming and binge-watching shows, never having taken the time to explore a shopping mall properly.

He had little understanding of the value of money in the real world. He knew diamonds were more expensive than oranges, but how much more expensive? What was the exchange rate? How many diamonds or oranges could an average person afford? He had no idea.

So, what would someone with no concept of money and wealth do?

Buy everything.

Mo Hanzhou had three phones: one for personal use, one for work, and one that was always left with his assistant. All three were linked to various cards, memberships, and contacts like fashion industry experts who seemed useful but were mostly irrelevant.

This phone usually only received messages from banks with greetings or invitations to events, and even those were infrequent. After all, the assistants had turned off most non-essential notifications, checking the phone only twice a day for a quick scan.

But today, the phone had been buzzing non-stop all morning. After finishing a meeting, the assistant returned to his desk and was nearly startled by the incessant ding-dong notifications, thinking he’d forgotten some important task.

When he opened the phone, he was shocked again.
