“Boom…”
Just as everyone began to relax, the mutated lion suddenly burst out of the vehicle, its entire body engulfed in flames.
“Everyone, spread out!” Xi Yanfeng warned vigilantly.
It charged toward Bai Youyou, who was the closest to it, and let out a furious roar.
“Ah! Save me! I don’t want to die!” Bai Youyou screamed in terror as she watched the mutated lion charge toward her.
Xie Zian launched a water ball at it, while Xi Yanfeng followed up with a perfectly coordinated bolt of lightning.
After being struck by the attacks, the mutated lion writhed in agony on the ground. Before long, it turned into a charred black mass and stopped moving.
Tang Yaoyao still wasn’t sure whether it was really dead. She was terrified that it might suddenly jump back up.
Xie Youlin called out, “Let’s go. We should leave this place first.”
Tang Yaoyao timidly said, “I remember reading in novels that zombies have crystal cores in their heads. Do you think it might have one too?”
After hearing her, Mu Yunyi picked up a stick and was about to poke open the mutated lion’s head.
“Let me do it.” Xi Yanfeng stopped her, stepped forward, and used a dagger to cut into the mutated lion’s head. A red crystal core about the size of a fingertip fell out.
The System prompted, 【Favorability Points +8】. She now had 16 points.
Tang Yaoyao was ecstatic. This was exactly the benefit of having read so many novels.
There were nine people present besides her, though, so she didn’t need to think hard to figure out who hadn’t given her any Favorability Points.
“Brother, there’s a village up ahead,” Xie Zian said as they walked.
Soon, they entered the village. Along the way, they encountered several zombies, which they dispatched with ease.
They found a three story residential house. As soon as they opened the door, two zombies charged toward them wildly, only to be pierced through the heads by Xie Youlin’s ice blades and collapse to the ground.
Xie Zian dragged the bodies outside, then casually tossed out a water ball to wash his hands.
“Yaoyao, why don’t these zombies have crystal cores?” Xie Zian asked. He had been poking into the zombies’ heads all along the way.
Tang Yaoyao explained, “Maybe only Level 2 zombies have them.”
“Okay.”
After checking the entire house, everyone sat down on the sofas in the living room.
“Yaoyao, I’m so hungry, and I left my backpack in the vehicle,” Han Liuliu whispered to Tang Yaoyao beside her.
Tang Yaoyao’s eyes lit up. If she took out some food from her Spatial Ability right now, wouldn’t she be able to gain another wave of Favorability Points? She was just about to take something out when Ji Moyu suddenly brought out an entire table full of snacks, including ham, instant noodles, water, and even self heating preserved meat rice.
Uh…
The blow came so suddenly that she was caught completely off guard.
“Wow, Brother Moyu, you actually have a Spatial Ability!” Bai Youyou stared at him like a lovestruck girl.
Tang Yaoyao shot him a resentful look, but he simply sat there quietly as though nothing had happened.
Then she remembered that she still had an RV, which made her feel a little better. She picked up the self heating preserved meat rice from the table and opened the package.
“By the way, Li Hai, how is the injury on your back?” Chen Dongming asked with concern.
Li Hai’s face was pale as he answered weakly, “It’s nothing serious. I’ll be fine after resting for a few days.”
Everyone knew that ability users were less likely to turn into zombies after being injured, so they weren’t particularly worried.
As Tang Yaoyao ate her steaming hot rice, she suddenly thought of something and laughed.
How could she have forgotten about her ability? It really was a case of finding a way out when all hope seemed lost.
Everyone looked at her in confusion. What they had been talking about didn’t seem funny at all.
Fortunately, they weren’t looking at her as though she were an idiot.
“Um, sorry about that.” Tang Yaoyao quickly covered her little mouth, then looked toward Li Hai. “I can heal you. Would you like to let me try?”
Everyone’s expressions changed in surprise, and they immediately understood what she had been laughing about.
Li Hai looked both surprised and flattered. “Yaoyao, you… then, give it a try.”
