When Tang Yaoyao came out of the bathroom, she saw them moving the shelves around and clearing out a large open space in the middle.
She walked over, placed two pieces of cardboard on the floor, then brought over two quilts and spread them out. It was much better than sleeping in the cafeteria.
Han Liuliu followed her example and moved over to lie beside her.
“Yaoyao, are we going to the base with them too?”
Tang Yaoyao put a lollipop into her mouth. “Of course we are!”
If she did not go with them, what would happen to her System Points?
Just then, she suddenly felt someone watching her. Following that gaze, she looked over and saw a handsome, cold face staring at her darkly.
Tang Yaoyao panicked inside and quickly lay down with her back to him.
He would not kill her just to silence her over something so trivial, would he? Right now, she was weak and easy to bully.
Professor Xie’s gentle voice came from nearby. “Zian and I will take the first half of the night watch.”
Xi Yanfeng replied, “All right. Li Hai and I will take the second half.”
Seeing that they had arranged the night watch, Tang Yaoyao finally relaxed and went to sleep.
Late at night, everything was completely silent.
“Bang, bang, bang! Help! Open the door!”
The cries for help outside woke everyone who had fallen asleep.
Tang Yaoyao rubbed her eyes and looked toward the glass door. A man was frantically pounding on it, as if he had encountered something terrifying.
Professor Xie, who was on watch, was walking over to open the door for him.
Just then, a zombie suddenly appeared behind the man outside and bit down on his neck, spraying blood across the glass door.
Bai Youyou screamed, “Ah! Is he dead?”
Mu Yunyi said coldly, “Be quiet.”
It was Tang Yaoyao’s first time seeing a living person get killed by a zombie. Her face turned pale as she pressed a hand against her rapidly beating heart.
Come to think of it, could that just now have been a speed mutated zombie? She remembered that Level 2 zombies were not supposed to appear this early.
How was she supposed to survive now? She had not even exchanged for a superpower yet, and there were already Level 2 zombies.
The smell of blood outside attracted numerous zombies, which gathered around and began pounding furiously on the door.
Han Liuliu nervously leaned against Tang Yaoyao.
“They won’t break in, will they?”
Tang Yaoyao was thinking about the same thing. A Level 2 speed mutated zombie should probably be hiding somewhere farther away, right?
Fortunately, the door was sturdy, and the zombies in the early stages did not have much strength. Hopefully, that Level 2 zombie was the only one.
Professor Xie walked over. “What do you think? Should we go outside and clear them out?”
Did they not know that there was a Level 2 zombie? But how was she supposed to warn them?
“Let the ability users go outside. The other girls can stay here,” Xi Yanfeng said, making a reasonable arrangement.
Just as they were preparing to go outside, Tang Yaoyao stood up.
“Wait.”
They turned around and looked at her in confusion.
“Don’t you think that zombie just now was moving very fast?” she reminded them gently.
After her reminder, they thought about it carefully and realized that it had indeed been much faster than the zombies they had encountered before.
Ji Moyu swept his dark eyes over her. Her powers of observation were pretty good.

Suppressing her excitement, Tang Yaoyao continued, “Think about it. If humans can mutate, then of course zombies can mutate too.”
“What Tang Yaoyao said makes sense. We should wait until dawn and see what happens,” Professor Xie said, clearly enlightened by her words.

Seeing that they had decided not to go outside, Tang Yaoyao also breathed a sigh of relief.
“009, show me the list,” she said. “Could those seven points have come from the ability users?”
She checked the list and saw that Ji Moyu was included as well. The final point should have come from Professor Xie.
She had struck it rich overnight. Fortunately, she had been quick witted. Twenty four System Points, what a delightful haul!
