Inside the VIP Suite No. 1 at the □□ Hotel, a huge bed was made up, and floor-to-ceiling windows stretched along one wall. Warm sunlight spilled across the bed.
Feeling the warmth, Yu Rong couldn’t help nuzzling into the covers. It was so comfortable he almost wanted to □□.
Before he could get the words out, pain flared in his throat. His voice came out hoarse and raspy, like a broken gong.
And that unspeakable place was swollen and aching. Even the slightest movement tugged at it, drawing out a sticky mess.
Everything about him was a reminder of what he’d been through.
He’d been drunk, but he hadn’t blacked out completely. Now, an image came to mind: a pair of long, straight legs, strong and powerful, the kind that could hook around him lightly and steal his very soul.
Yu Rong’s face flushed and his heart raced. He wanted to bury himself in the wall.
Twenty-five years of keeping himself pure, gone. He’d never even dated, and he’d already given his body away. He hadn’t so much as seen the other man’s face, yet he was still savoring the memory. What kind of situation was this?
It took him a long while to calm down. Then Yu Rong got out of bed, holding his cheeks, which weren’t quite so hot anymore. His legs suddenly gave way, and he stumbled, nearly falling to the floor.
Just how rough had that man been…?
Swallowing his embarrassment, Yu Rong went to the bathroom.
He nearly jumped when he saw himself in the mirror above the sink. His lips were swollen like sausages, with little cuts on them. His body was mottled with bruises, and his face was flushed with desire. Was that really him, looking like someone who’d been thoroughly □□?
How was he supposed to face anyone looking like this?
A strange, sore ache throbbed between his legs, making him uncomfortable all over. Yu Rong blushed as he cleaned himself up, overwhelmed by embarrassment.
As he thought about everything that had happened last night, his whole face turned bright red. A small sound slipped out before he could stop it, soft as a kitten’s mew.
If that man were here, Yu Rong would want to pick a fight with him first. Terrible service, and the man hadn’t even bothered to clean him up.
One star. Never again!
Naked, he walked straight out of the bathroom. Water trickled over his cheek and slipped down his slender, elegant neck, then disappeared somewhere lower, almost out of sight.
Yu Rong shook out his hair and dried himself with a hotel towel. Only then did he notice a set of clothes laid out by the wardrobe: a white shirt and black straight-leg trousers, a very youthful outfit.
Ever since he’d taken over the company, he hadn’t worn anything this boyish.
But he didn’t have any other choice. Resigned, he pulled the clothes on. The shirt had a low neckline, leaving the dense red marks still clearly visible.
Yu Rong rummaged through the wardrobe and found a few scarves inside, one orange-yellow and one bright red.
Heaven had it in for him. Faced with a choice between looking like he was in a bizarre costume and losing all dignity, he dutifully wrapped the… orange-yellow… scarf around his neck.
He’d started out looking like a fresh-faced young man, and somehow managed to turn himself into a square-dancing auntie.
“Sir? Sir?” The hotel security guard had been keeping a close eye on the man in the white shirt and black trousers, with the orange-yellow scarf around his neck, for quite some time.
The man had stepped out of the elevator and was walking strangely, peering around furtively. The scarf covered more than half his face. He was obviously up to no good.
Yu Rong felt eyes fixed on him from every direction. People kept pointing and whispering, their gazes so hot he could barely stand it.
He’d never been this embarrassed in his life. In his heart, he added another mark against that man.
“Sir!” A hand suddenly slapped his back. Yu Rong’s heart jolted, and he nearly stopped breathing.
When he saw the security guard, he let out a breath. “What is it?”
He had no idea that the way his eyes darted around, looking everywhere at once, only made him seem more suspicious.
“Sir, when did you check into our hotel?”
“I’d like to know that myself!” Yu Rong rolled his eyes in irritation at the thought.
He had to get home as soon as possible. He couldn’t handle all the malice in this world.
“Excuse me, sir, where are we?” Yu Rong looked at the unfamiliar street and stopped a kind-looking elderly man to ask for directions.
The old man studied him carefully. His gaze paused on the orange-yellow scarf wrapped tightly around Yu Rong, and suddenly he remembered a news report about a murderer who liked wearing women’s scarves and was on the run.
The murderer liked orange-yellow scarves, too. The old man’s heart gave a jolt. He’d only just gotten a grandson. He couldn’t afford to come to any harm.
Yu Rong thought the old man’s expression was strange. It gave him goosebumps, and he shot the old man a questioning look.
To his surprise, the old man recoiled in terror, stumbling back several steps before shouting, “Help! Help!”
Yu Rong stared at him, completely baffled. Thinking the old man had taken ill, he stepped closer, about to ask what was wrong.
Seeing him approach, the old man thought he was coming to silence a witness. His eyes widened in sheer terror, and his whole body trembled.
Kind passersby gathered around them, pointing fingers at Yu Rong.
“Such a decent-looking young man, and he’s picking on an old man like that.”
“Look at the way he’s dressed. He’s obviously no good!”
“He’s the murderer! The murderer!” A shrill voice rang out, silencing everyone.
“Call the police!”
In the ensuing chaos, Yu Rong ended up sitting in a police station, answering questions, wanting to cry but with no tears left to shed.
“Name.”
“Yu Rong.”
The policewoman looked up at him. It was an unusual surname. Her gaze flicked to the orange-yellow scarf wrapped around his neck, and her expression turned peculiar.
No wonder they’d mistaken him for a murderer. He had exactly the same taste as that psycho.
“Address.”
Yu Rong noticed the policewoman’s gaze and blushed, mortified. He wanted the ground to swallow him up.
Head bowed, he mumbled the only villa address he knew. “Villa 1-105, Xintiancheng Seaside Resort.”
The policewoman looked up in surprise, searching her memory. That… she’d never heard of that address.
This policewoman came from the Qiao family, one of China’s upper-crust families. Her name was Qiao Xia, and for some reason, she’d thrown herself into police work with such passion that plenty of people had been left dumbfounded.
Back then, the police station had been packed with people coming and going. Young heirs from prominent families had flocked there, hoping to catch Miss Qiao’s eye.
Qiao Xia secretly pulled out her Apple N phone and searched Everything You Need to Know for Xintiancheng villas. The results showed several, all overseas.
In China, there was only a residential complex, and even a Xintiancheng massage parlor…
Speechless, Qiao Xia tapped and swiped for ages, trying every bizarre search she could think of, but she couldn’t find the address Yu Rong had given her.
Yu Rong saw Qiao Xia’s expression growing harder and harder to read, and his heart gave a jolt.
He was done for. She must have figured out who he was.
After all, it was such a famous place. How could anyone not know it was the home of Ruiqi Company’s president?
Though now he was a bankrupt president.
“Sir, could you tell me where this Xintiancheng is?” Qiao Xia asked cautiously, afraid she might simply be out of the loop.
“It’s on the outskirts of Jingdu. The biggest one, across from St. Paul’s Restaurant.”
Qiao Xia’s face darkened further, and she was burning with anger. The next second, Yu Rong was thrown out of the police station.
“You’ve been daydreaming too much. I know everyone who lives on that land outside Jingdu, and there’s only one family surnamed Yu. What, do you have an older brother named Yu Chen or something?”
“No,” Yu Rong shot back without thinking. He had only one younger brother, Yu Yan, and that one was an ungrateful wretch.
The male officers had seen Qiao Xia pull this kind of stunt so many times that they barely reacted. They gave Yu Rong a sympathetic look. Of all the people to lie to, he’d picked this fearsome woman at the Jingdu police station. He’d really asked for it!
