His question made the staff overseeing things sweat a bucket.

"You are seeing yourself what’s going on and stepped here on your own wish, so why are you questioning me with this time?"

’Did I offend him?’

Thinking about it, he just bowed his head down and remained silent.

Mina stared at Grim’s deadpan face, then looked at the stage above with a heavy sigh. Unlike Grim, she wasn’t affected at all. Rather, she was used to this.

Many were forced while many entered willingly. The people selling themselves didn’t have hope of entering a noble household, but by serving one day, they could earn some quick bucks.

They knew themselves that once they were used, they would be seen as dirty and wouldn’t be taken, but a few times were enough for them to accumulate well.

"My Lord, you should take it slow."

Grim snapped towards Mina angrily. His brows furrowed as he stared at her. He felt frustrated seeing her calmness.

’I thought my world was already bad, but this is just a pure rotting mass of hell.’

He stared at the people around him, and remembering that in the game Silvia was sold here by the original Grim made him feel suffocated.

’Grim, you fucking piece of shit...’

’Bastard! Bastard... You deserve to die...’

The staff sweated as Grim was blocking the way, so he gathered his courage and coughed before speaking.

"Lord, you should take your seat. If you don’t like it, you can leave."

Grim didn’t need to weigh his options.

"Leave..."

He turned his heels and walked away towards the exit, leaving Mina flustered. She quickly looked at him and took a step forward when a loud banging sound suddenly echoed through the place.

BANG!

Grim paused when he heard the sound. His gaze slowly rotated around before stopping at the rooftop.

Others also stood up after hearing the banging sound. Their faces showed confusion as they looked around, trying to figure out where the noise was coming from.

"What?"

"What is this noise?"

"Damn! Which bastard is creating nuisances? This is the first time here and someone is causing trouble."

The sound of banging became louder and louder. The entire place seemed to tremble slightly with every impact.

Grim realised what was about to happen and turned towards Mina.

"If we separate, go and wait for me at the place we departed from the car."

Mina opened her lips to say something, but Grim had already rushed ahead.

"Hey, wait..."

She ran to chase after him when the roof suddenly exploded, sending chunks of debris crashing down.

BOOM!

Mina quickly raised both hands and covered her face as dust and debris flew through the air. People screamed and moved away from the falling pieces while several guards looked up in panic.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

The sound of footsteps echoed from above.

A group of men jumped out one after another, dressed in heavy black armour.

People froze when they saw them.

The men didn’t say anything at first. They simply stood there with their weapons drawn, their cold eyes scanning everyone in the room.

"Who are you?"

One of the guards finally gathered enough courage to step forward.

The armoured man turned his head towards him.

SMACK!

A heavy slap struck his face.

The guard’s body spun through the air before he crashed onto the floor several meters away.

The entire hall went silent.

The people stared at the fallen guard with pale faces.

Some tried to move towards the exits, but the moment they took a step, several weapons were raised.

"No one is allowed to move."

The voice was cold and firm.

A man near the entrance slowly raised his hands.

"I-I didn’t do anything..."

"Down."

The armoured man pointed his weapon at him.

The man immediately dropped to his knees.

Another person tried to run.

"Stop!"

He sprinted towards the exit with everything he had, but one of the armoured men moved faster.

BANG!

The man was struck in the stomach and thrown back. He crashed into a table, sending bottles and plates flying across the floor.

"AH!"

Screams erupted throughout the hall.

People began pushing each other in panic as they tried to find somewhere to hide.

"Please! Don’t kill me!"

"I didn’t do anything!"

"Stay down!"

However, not everyone was willing to obey.

A well-dressed man stepped forward with an angry expression. He pointed a trembling finger at the armoured men as his face turned red.

"Do you know who I am? How dare you try to harm us?"

Another man standing beside him also stepped forward. His expression was filled with anger and disbelief.

"How dare you!"

The armoured men didn’t answer.

One of them slowly raised his weapon.

BANG!

A shot rang through the hall.

The well-dressed man’s face turned pale as the attack passed dangerously close to him.

Before anyone could react, the other armed men immediately raised their weapons.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Several shots were fired into the air.

The loud gunshots shook the entire hall and caused everyone to cover their ears and duck down in fear.

"Move!"

One of the armoured men shouted as he stepped forward.

"Disarm everyone with weapons."

The order spread through the hall immediately.

Several armoured men moved forward and began forcing anyone carrying a weapon to drop it.

**********

Grim ignored the loud noise creaking up from behind and climbed up ahead. The door was locked, but he felt strange screams coming from behind.

With a soft creak, he opened the door and witnessed a scene of brutal chaos, with people screaming and shrieking.

People were running away like headless chickens while being chased by people dressed in black bodysuits.

"The Inquisitors..."

Grim’s eyes narrowed as he fell into deep thought.

In the game, this incident happened because of Silvia. The despair and trauma caused her blessings to flare up, which was picked up by the people from the Church of Light who had the ability to divine.

Appearing at the scene, they witnessed an utterly despondent sight of fallen humans, which irked the protagonist and caused a full charge.

’But Silvia isn’t here so how did they appear here?’

Coming out he sa2 the group of drunkard gamblers were beaten to shit.

’Why does everything go wrong when I do something?’

Putting the set of curses in the back of his mind, he crouched down and crawled out.

He didn’t want to fight the madmen of the Church. It would be troublesome if he killed them, so the best choice now was to avoid them.

There were already bodies piled up on the floor that acted as easy cover. If he sensed anyone getting close, Grim just needed to act unconscious.

The plan went along well until Grim heard a bang and saw a sharp object darting across.

BANGG!

He managed to move his hand out of the way in time when a sword struck the place.
