Early the next morning, Harry was ready and waiting at the door.
“Morning, Reya.”
“Morning, little female.”
Harry had plain features, but compared to Dora, he was at least the pick of the litter.
His hair color fell somewhere between orange and yellow, betraying his subpar strength.
The three of them packed up and soon headed into the forest.
The early morning forest was filled with the chirping of birds, and the air was rich with the fresh scent of grass and earth.
However, Misha and the others searched hard all morning without seeing a single piece of prey.
They only spotted a few scattered rabbits and roe deer, but because they were too far away, the animals vanished before they could even give chase.
“What’s going on?
We can’t find a single prey,” Misha said, feeling a bit frustrated.
She had just fallen in love with hunting; how could it be this difficult?
Reya’s expression was serious as he observed their surroundings.
“It’s our scent.
We have the scent of tigers on us.
Once they smell it, they automatically stay away.”
It actually worked like that?
“Reya, why don’t we rest for a bit?
We’ve been walking all morning, and I’m really exhausted.”
Reya looked at the disappointed Misha beside him and gave a faint nod.
“Mhm.”
Misha squatted on the ground in frustration, drawing circles in the dirt with a branch.
[Host, for just 5 points, the system can scan the prey’s location for you!
You get a total of 5 scans.
It’s an absolute steal for 5 points.
Do you want to give it a try?]
“Five points?
That’s too expensive,” Misha habitually haggled with the system.
[Host, 5 points is truly a bargain.]
“Ten scans.”
[…]
[The host has successfully spent 5 points to redeem 10 uses of the Prey Scanner.]
Misha opened the map and clicked “Scan.” A dense cluster of red dots appeared before her eyes, with the sizes of the dots indicating the sizes of the prey.
She selected a thumbnail-sized red dot and clicked “Track.”
“Reya, I know where the prey is!
Quickly, follow me!” Instantly revived, Misha called out and sprinted off into the distance.
Worried about her, Reya hurriedly chased after her.
Harry, who had only just caught his breath, had no choice but to follow them with heavy steps.
“Slow down, will you!” Harry hadn’t expected a young female like Misha to have better stamina than him.
By the time he caught up, Misha and Reya were already fighting a black bear.
Valuing his life, Harry found a short tree and climbed up to watch the battle from a safe height.
The black bear had a head wound, and the pain drove it into a frenzy.
Its sharp-clawed paws swiped relentlessly at Misha, but she dodged every single strike.
Reya assisted from the side, occasionally lunging to bite the bear and tearing off chunks of bloody flesh.
The ground was soon dyed red, and the black bear collapsed from severe blood loss.
Hiding in the branches, Harry’s jaw dropped at the sight.
He thought, “This…
this little female is way too fierce!” He was now absolutely certain that Reya and Misha had hunted those two tigers themselves yesterday.
Such terrifying strength—and lifting a boulder weighing several hundred kilograms with ease!
Even his father, Saki, might not be able to do that.
After resting for half an hour, Misha was about to scan for prey again.
Unexpectedly, a wild goat with big, watery eyes wandered into their vicinity.
Before the two males could react, Misha picked up an egg-sized stone from the ground and hurled it at the goat’s neck.
THWACK.
Blood splattered in all directions.
The goat collapsed, unable to get up, its eyes left wide open in death.
“Is she really a little female?
Could she be a male in disguise?” Harry exclaimed in shock.
A flash of doubt crossed Reya’s mind, but it quickly vanished.
“She is a little female.” There was absolutely no mistaking Misha’s scent.
“Are you sure?”
Reya nodded solemnly.
“Yes.”
After a brief rest, Reya and Harry carried the black bear and the goat back to the Dog Clan Tribe.
A few nosy onlookers had been waiting at the tribe’s entrance.
The moment they spotted the group from afar, they ran inside to announce their return to the entire tribe.
By the time the trio arrived at the tribal square, Clan Leader Saki was already waiting there with the clansmen.
“Harry, did you hunt this black bear and goat?” Dora was the first to speak.
As soon as she said this, the clansmen’s gazes toward her instantly changed.
Was she blind?
Couldn’t she see the blood covering Reya and Misha?
Besides, with Harry’s subpar Yellow-level male strength, they might believe he’d hunted a goat, but taking down a black bear?
She had to be dreaming.
Harry also noticed the clansmen’s looks, and his cheeks flushed slightly.
“It wasn’t me.
Reya and Misha hunted them.”
The smile on Dora’s face froze instantly.
“How is that possible…”
“Did you see them hunt it with your own eyes?” Saki asked with a serious expression.
Harry rubbed his nose.
“Yes.
Misha is incredibly strong—stronger than a male.
She hunted the goat all by herself.
She killed it with just a single stone.”
To prove his point, Harry dug his hand into the wound on the goat’s neck.
He pulled out a blood-soaked stone.
“She actually killed a prey just by throwing a stone!”
“Wow, Misha, you’re amazing!”
“Yeah, I wish I could be as amazing as you one day.”
The young females looked at Misha with stars in their eyes.
Everyone admired the strong.
For a young female like Misha to possess such abilities was a blessing to all of them.
Dora was so furious she nearly bit through her lip.
With a cold snort, she pushed her way out of the crowd.
Saki, meanwhile, pulled Harry aside and asked in a low voice, “Is what you said true?”
Harry nodded.
“It’s true.
I think Misha’s power level is at least equivalent to a Green-level male, if not higher.”
After all, he had never seen a male with a higher level of strength.
The male strength levels in the nearby tribes were uniformly Yellow-level; only the Snow Wolf Clan had produced two Green-level males.
“Harry, are you willing to become Misha’s mate?”
Saki knew his own son well—he lacked strength and had a soft personality.
Although Saki could use his authority as Clan Leader to secure a mate for him, weak male mates rarely had any mating rights.
But Misha was different.
She was an outsider and currently only had the intention of taking Reya as her mate.
Furthermore, she was strong and capable of hunting her own prey, meaning Harry wouldn’t have to suffer if he followed her.
They might even be able to produce offspring.
“Ah, with her?
But she’s way too ugly.”
Speechless, Saki glared at him and had no choice but to drop the matter.
“Since Reya has proven with his strength that he can take good care of a young female, I hereby announce that the Dog Clan Tribe approves of their union as mates, and we wish them an early birth of offspring!”
Reya was overjoyed.
Misha felt it was only natural.
If it weren’t for the need to find a stable place to rest during her pregnancy, she wouldn’t have bothered playing along with Saki’s theatricals.
That night, a bonfire was lit in the tribal square.
The males and young females danced and sang around the flames.
Misha joined them after washing up.
Amidst the chorus of congratulations from the crowd, there were bound to be one or two harsh, grating voices.
“Congratulations, Misha!
Such an ugly little female like you finally found a male who wants you!
What a joyous occasion!
“You really should thank Reya for being willing to accept you.
Then again, who else could he accept?
After all, he’s infertile.
The two of you will just have to make do with each other!”
