"ROAAAAAR~~~~!"
There was no denying it.
With the violent winds accompanying its entrance, followed by a deafening dragon roar, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon certainly knew how to make one hell of an entrance.
But impressive entrance aside, Derken had a much more important question.
Where the hell had this enormous white dragon come from?!
"B-Boss! A dragon! It's a dragon!!! We should run!!!!!!"
Bart shouted at Derken, his voice trembling uncontrollably.
The other mercenaries weren't much better.
Every one of them stared stiffly at the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, their faces filled with fear. Not a single one dared to take another step forward.
"Useless trash."
SLAP!
Derken sent Bart flying with a slap before roaring at the other mercenaries.
"It's just a juvenile dragon! What the hell are you afraid of?! Kill this thing, and we'll become dragon slayers! Now get in there!!!"
'I don't know how that black-haired brat managed to summon a dragon, but it doesn't matter anymore.'
'We've already offended him.'
'At this point, the only choice is to make sure he disappears from this world completely.'
Those were Derken's thoughts.
In truth, Derken had already backed himself into a corner.
There was no turning back now.
The mercenaries gradually recovered from their fear as well.
Dragons were generally more than a hundred meters long and over fifty meters tall.
Compared to them, this Blue-Eyes White Dragon was only around ten meters tall when standing upright.
So it could only be a juvenile dragon...
And once the mercenaries imagined themselves becoming legendary dragon slayers, showered with fame and wealth, their fear immediately transformed into excitement.
"OOOOOH!!!"
One after another, they charged toward the Blue-Eyes White Dragon like men possessed.
From their expressions, anyone would think they had already slain the dragon in front of them.
"Hmph!"
Toma snorted.
He had no idea why these idiots kept calling the Blue-Eyes White Dragon a juvenile dragon.
But that didn't matter.
He knew perfectly well that the Blue-Eyes White Dragon wasn't weak.
"Disappear!"
Toma swept his right hand outward.
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon—Burst Stream of Destruction!"
He even struck the same dramatic pose Seto Kaiba used in the anime.
Apparently, Toma had decided that if he was going to do this, he might as well imitate Kaiba-shachō and look cool while doing it.
White light rapidly gathered inside the Blue-Eyes White Dragon's mouth.
Then—
BOOOOOOM!!!
Its signature attack, Burst Stream of Destruction, erupted forth.
The devastating white beam swept horizontally across the battlefield.
Every mercenary caught within the blast simply disappeared from the world.
Derken had already sensed something was wrong the instant the white light began gathering inside the dragon's mouth.
But before he could warn his men, the attack struck them.
And just like that...
They were gone.
Derken's pupils contracted.
His expression became extremely serious as he stared at the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
Although Derken publicly claimed that every member of his mercenary group was a Fourth-Rank Warrior, he knew the truth better than anyone.
Only a handful of them had actually reached the Fourth Rank.
Most were merely Third-Rank Warriors.
But even so...
They had just been eliminated effortlessly.
There weren't even corpses left behind.
That alone was enough for Derken to realize that this so-called juvenile dragon was anything but simple.
Then again, dragons had always been synonymous with overwhelming strength.
Derken could only shake his head with a bitter smile.
'I suppose there's nothing particularly surprising about that.'
'It's still a dragon, after all...'
Derken quickly discarded those useless thoughts and focused.
'Looks like I'll have to handle this myself...'
He had already made his decision.
Today, both the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and that black-haired young man had to disappear from this world.
Otherwise...
The one dying today would undoubtedly be Derken himself.
Meanwhile, Toma was controlling the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
Through the dragon's vision, he had clearly seen what happened during the previous Burst Stream of Destruction.
Several mercenaries had managed to dodge the attack at the very last moment.
Based on Toma's extensive experience reading novels, the explanation was obvious.
The mercenaries who died and those who survived were probably at completely different levels.
The weaker ones had all been wiped out by that first sweeping attack.
The ones remaining were the troublesome ones.
If they could dodge such a sudden attack, their physical abilities were obviously impressive.
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon's main advantages were its destructive power and defense.
Speed, however, wasn't particularly outstanding.
If a surprise attack couldn't hit these guys, then a straightforward attack probably wouldn't either.
Worse still...
Toma was the one controlling the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
His own reaction speed obviously couldn't keep up with these mercenaries.
Toma gritted his teeth in frustration.
'Damn it!'
'Even with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, I'd probably lose more often than I'd win against these guys because of my own limitations.'
'In the end, I'm still too weak...'
For the first time since arriving in this other world, Toma truly experienced the suffocating frustration of lacking strength.
But frustration was frustration.
The battle still had to continue.
"Tohka, kill that white-haired bastard for me—"
Toma suddenly stopped.
"No. Actually, just beat him down."
He had originally intended to tell Tohka to kill Derken.
But then Toma remembered Tohka's personality in the original series.
She was fundamentally kindhearted.
Ordering her to directly kill Derken might cause unnecessary problems.
It would be safer to simply have her beat Derken until he couldn't fight anymore.
And as for why Toma was sending Tohka instead of fighting Derken himself...
A man needed to understand his own limitations.
Toma knew perfectly well that this wasn't the time to play hero.
Having Tohka deal with Derken was clearly the safest choice.
Toma could simply handle the remaining small-fry mercenaries himself.
Besides, they were being completely vaporized.
There weren't even any corpses left behind.
Because of that, Toma didn't feel particularly disturbed by it.
"Okay, Toma-kun. Leave it to me."
Tohka obediently followed Toma's instructions.
Her thoughts were actually very simple right now.
'All I need to do is protect Toma-kun.'
'Toma-kun will take care of everything else.'
'I just need to listen to what Toma-kun tells me to do...'
Although all of this seemed like a lot, only a few seconds had actually passed.
Luna stood off to the side, completely unsure of what she was supposed to do.
Wasn't she supposed to be helping these two?
But looking at the situation...
They clearly didn't need her help at all.
Luna could only stand there helplessly, thinking—
'Um...'
'Is anyone going to acknowledge that I'm still here?!'
