Toma had always been curious about this classification.
Luna hadn't mentioned it earlier, so he decided to ask.
Luna seemed somewhat surprised by the question at first.
But after remembering that Toma came from another world, she quickly stopped wondering about it and answered.
"Magic Warriors are extremely unusual. They can be considered Warriors, but they can also be considered Mages. It depends entirely on which side the individual leans toward."
"If a Magic Warrior primarily uses a Warrior's fighting style, then they can be classified as a Warrior."
"Likewise, if their fighting style is closer to that of a Mage, then they can be classified as a Mage."
"However, Magic Warriors are extremely rare. Every Magic Warrior either becomes a heaven-shaking genius... or an utterly mediocre nobody."
"That's because they need to master both Battle Aura and magic. Although possessing the talent for both is extremely rare, they also need to put in more than twice as much effort as an ordinary person."
"As a result, most Magic Warriors end up accomplishing very little..."
Toma nodded.
He didn't say anything else and continued listening to Luna's explanation.
Now that professions were out of the way, it was time to discuss power levels.
[First Rank: A properly trained person. Even without magic or Battle Aura, anyone capable of fighting like a qualified warrior could be considered First Rank.]
[Second Rank: Someone capable of defeating a Blog Beast, a creature similar to a wild boar on Earth, in single combat.]
[Third Rank: Someone who has begun mastering their own attribute and learned to use either Battle Aura or magic.]
[Fourth Rank: Someone capable of skillfully using their Battle Aura or magic.]
Everything up through the Fourth Rank was still considered within the limits of ordinary humans.
A First-Rank fighter killing someone at the Third Rank wasn't anything particularly unbelievable.
Likewise, a Fourth-Rank fighter could still be killed through a successful ambush.
The Fifth Rank, however, was the dividing line.
[Fifth Rank: Warriors capable of projecting Battle Aura outside their bodies, or Mages capable of instantly casting basic spells such as Fireball.]
Starting from the Fifth Rank, people gradually began developing beyond normal human limitations.
A Warrior could project Battle Aura outward, forming a visible aura around their body.
This aura could enhance their physical abilities while also blocking magic, arrows, and other projectiles.
Of course, how much it could block depended entirely on the individual's cultivation.
After all, defending against attacks consumed energy as well.
Battle Aura could also be infused into weapons to increase their sharpness and destructive power.
However, ordinary weapons had difficulty enduring Battle Aura enhancement for extended periods.
Because of this, obtaining a proper magical or enchanted weapon was one of the greatest desires of most Warrior-type professionals.
As for the instant-casting abilities of Fifth-Rank Mages...
Luna didn't know much about them.
According to her, the Mages in the royal capital usually spent most of their time meditating or performing various forms of training.
They rarely fought publicly.
And because Luna had spent most of her life beside the Princess, she herself had barely participated in any real battles.
Toma stared at her.
'You don't know again?'
'Seriously...'
'Useless~!!!'
Unfortunately, Luna completely ignored the contemptuous look Toma gave her.
Luna knew even less about the ranks beyond the Fifth.
She only understood the basics.
For example, Sixth-Rank fighters could supposedly fly.
Seventh-Rank fighters could apparently deploy something called a Domain.
Beyond that...
She knew nothing.
When Luna had once asked the Captain about higher ranks, his answer had simply been:
"You'll naturally understand once you become strong enough."
Toma looked down on that answer too.
'That Captain probably didn't know either.'
'He was obviously just bullshitting Luna because he couldn't answer.'
As for customs, they weren't particularly different from those on Earth.
Aside from certain races having their own unique traditions, there wasn't much Toma needed to worry about.
The main rule was simple.
When meeting another race—anything other than humans—don't casually do something that might offend them.
After all, who knew what strange traditions another race might have?
What if you casually touched the horns of a female Minotaur and suddenly discovered that, according to her race's customs, she now had to marry you?
At that point...
You might as well kill yourself.
The currency system was also fairly similar to what Toma had seen in fantasy novels.
There were copper coins, silver coins, gold coins...
And a special currency known as Magic Crystal Coins.
As the name suggested, Magic Crystal Coins were produced using Magic Crystals extracted from the bodies of magical beasts.
Their value was one hundred times greater than ordinary gold coins.
But there was another unusual restriction.
Only professionals were permitted to use them.
A professional was anyone possessing an established class and had to be at least First Rank.
If someone below First Rank attempted to use Magic Crystal Coins, they would be arrested by the Magic Crystal Merchant Association.
As for why?
Luna didn't know.
In fact, most people didn't know.
Supposedly, only a small number of people among the upper classes knew the reason.
However, every continent seemed to accept this rule, so ordinary people couldn't do anything about it.
After all, if kingdoms and empires themselves had no objections, what the hell could some random commoner do about it?
That was more or less everything Luna knew.
Their current destination was the lawless territory known as the Dark Capital, Shangri-La.
It was a chaotic place filled with all kinds of people and belonged to no single authority.
But it was also home to some of the finest information brokers around.
As long as you could afford the price, they could supposedly obtain practically anything.
They could even find out which consort a kingdom's ruler had slept with the previous night.
That was precisely why Luna intended to travel to Shangri-La.
She needed information about the Princess.
There was simply no way she could locate the Princess by herself.
However, when Toma heard the city's name, his expression became rather strange.
Because back on Earth...
There was also a place called Shangri-La.
Toma shook his head and pushed the useless thought aside.
"Do you have money?"
"Yes."
