Even though Jin had turned old, he was still at Minor Perfection of Blood Qi. After witnessing him turn into blood paste from Su Yang’s fist, they all realised Su Yang was indeed invincible in his realm. Therefore, they didn’t hesitate to unleash their Blood Burning Art, a deadly lifespan-sacrificing technique, just to fight him.

Su Yang controlled his Blood Qi and moved it to his back, following the details of the Undying Phoenix Wing Step.

White-golden Blood Qi erupted from Su Yang’s back and began changing into the shape of phoenix wings.Full novel: I Cultivate My Master's Fake Techniques — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But after forming halfway, it collapsed. ’Damn, I cannot get it in one shot.’ He cursed as he leaped up, with one of them closing in just inches from his body.

He stepped on the man’s shoulder and, using the man’s body as leverage, landed on a tree trunk. Everyone paused, steadying themselves as they lost sight of their target.

Su Yang took a deep breath and tried again to form the phoenix wings behind him.

His cheat activated. The Blood Qi within him seemed to flow smoothly instead of moving roughly and hurriedly. The wings appeared from the corners of his back. With his cheat’s step-by-step corrections, he learnt it quickly while jumping from tree to tree and occasionally landing on the ground to avoid the glowing crimson figures behind him.

"Get him!"

"He’s trying to burn us out!"

"I must land at least a single blow on him!"

Meanwhile, they believed Su Yang knew the Blood Burning Art was time-limited and was running around just to make them run out of energy.

"Should we, Master?" Han scowled. He clenched his fists, his gaze focused on Su Yang’s figure as he jumped from tree to tree yet again.

"No," Elder Go shook his head. "He’s at Minor Perfection of the Blood Qi realm. Let him exhaust his energy first."

"He’ll soon run out of energy by fleeing like this." Li Er grinned. "This way, we can deal with him with fewer injuries."

Elder Go wanted Su Yang to expend most of his reserves; hence, he let his underlings burn their lifespans. He was simply cautious.

"And he didn’t bring out his sword." He focused on Su Yang’s storage pouch. He was waiting for Su Yang to pull out his weapon.

With corrections from his cheat, Su Yang finally managed to form the phoenix wings after just a minute of jumping around.

Two white-golden wings, each with a wingspan of two metres, formed on his back as if they were real wings. The white feathers were very beautiful and elegant. They attracted everyone’s attention.

"What are they?" Han exclaimed. "Such a powerful martial technique!"

"Even if it’s just a Level 1 technique..." Elder Go swallowed. "It should be a top-notch one." He ran a hand through his hair. "Just how did Myriad Dao Sect, an unregistered sect, possess a technique like this?"

"And that phoenix from before." Li Er chimed in with a stern expression. "This brat is indeed invincible, no doubt."

"If I had these techniques, even I would be invincible." Han sneered, not seeing Su Yang as anything special.

"Master, let’s blackmail the technique out of him." He pleaded, pulling Elder Go’s robe.

"Li Er, go to those tied-up people and get these techniques," Elder Go ordered.

Li Er cupped his hands. "As you command, Elder."

He turned into an afterimage as he vanished from the tree.

Below, Su Yang was dodging the Blood Fiend Sect members’ attacks.

After learning how to use Phoenix Wing Step, he stopped running. Instead, he confronted them and used them to train.

Su Yang’s two wings flapped once as he floated a few metres into the sky, dodging a blood kick. He didn’t fight back, as he didn’t want to waste any resources. In his eyes, they were just training materials for now.

Boom!

Someone leaped, trying to attack Su Yang from behind, from his blind spot, but Su Yang simply flicked his wings and flashed a few metres forward.

Su Yang was so fast that, at most, only five to seven people could keep up with him at once, as he moved more than ten metres with each flick of his wings. He wasn’t giving them any chance to gang up on him all at once.

Su Yang smiled as he walked calmly among a group of seven Blood Fiend Sect members using the Blood Burning Art. He ducked to avoid the first Blood Fist, then twisted his shoulder as he stood up to dodge a blood kick. He then flicked his right wing, pushing away a man who had closed in to use Blood Slash with his sword. The man was forced to take a few steps back to brace himself against the impact.

For several minutes, Su Yang did nothing but avoid their attacks.

Su Yang couldn’t contain his joy as he glanced at the panel.

It had reached a new level of mastery!

"Let’s move on to killing you," he said plainly, his tone cold. "Just how many people did you kill?"

He had heard from his family many times, ’Most demonic techniques use humans as resources. If anyone spots someone using a demonic technique...’

He sighed. ’Slaughter them to save human lives and avenge those who have already been killed.’

Su Yang raised his hand as he glanced at the panting Blood Fiend Sect members. Many had turned grey-haired due to the side effects.

Most of them had survived until now by controlling the intensity of the Blood Burning Art. However, not a single young man remained. Everyone was either middle-aged or old. A few were so old that standing was troublesome for them, and they wobbled as they tried to remain upright.

"Undying Phoenix Fist," he muttered calmly as a white phoenix manifested behind him. It wrapped one claw around his fist, which was already emitting white-golden Blood Qi.

"Run!"

"Run!"

Elder Go barked as he began fleeing. ’What monster is this guy?’

"How come he still hasn’t run out of Blood Qi?" Han bit his lip in fear as he followed his master.

The Ninth Elder noticed him and yelled, "Trash, run in another direction!"

He slapped Han’s chest, flinging him into the air. Han landed a few metres away on the opposite side. His vision spun for a moment as he shook his head. He stood up and broke into a run.

Su Yang didn’t care about the fleeing Blood Fiend Sect members, as he was confident he could catch up with them using his new Phoenix Wing Step.

Killing, it wasn’t the first time for him. He took a deep breath and recalled how he had killed for the very first time.

’It was a nice winter day,’ he mused. On a snowy day, a young guard in the Su Mansion had stolen a bottle of Level 1 Superb-grade Blood-Strengthening Pills that had been prepared for him.

After the guard was found, he was brought to his knees, and his cultivation was sealed. Su Yang’s father ordered Su Yang to cut the guard’s throat.

He glanced at his glowing hand, filled with phoenix Blood Qi. ’My hands shook for a few days after I killed him.’

He raised his head. "Greed caused his death, and so shall yours as well." He showed no mercy, as they reeked of blood, which alone proved that they had drained many humans. He lightly tapped his feet on the ground as his phoenix wings flapped behind him.

Boom!

An afterimage formed as he chased the nearest Blood Fiend Sect member.
