Su Yang’s vision almost blacked out as he held on to the bed’s corner. He panted as he sat down on the mattress. He swiftly pulled out another bottle of Blood Strengthening Pills and threw them into his mouth.

"I used too much force." He sighed as he felt a new wisp of Blood Qi being born in his heart. "I’ll cultivate the entire night."

Before even his cultivation realm had stabilised, he tried to test it out, causing him to lose his strength in one go. He stood up and got into the Phoenix Stance. Once in a while, he took a bottle of pills.Full novel: I Cultivate My Master's Fake Techniques — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

White-golden flames wrapped around his body.

Bai Ruo and the gang, after having their fill, got near Su Yang’s wooden house and slightly pushed open the door to peek in.

Jia Xin didn’t hesitate for even a moment to check on her fourth junior brother.

"He’s just practising the stance!" she uttered. At her words, everyone peeked in at once. Bai Ruo outright pushed Jia Xin away as she was in the way.

"Master, what kind of stance is it?" Li Ming’s eyes were wide. "It’s different from ours."

"Indeed." Lei Feng nodded.

"And it’s different from what Master had scribbled in her so-called Undying Phoenix Art." Jia Xin rubbed her lower lip.

Su Yang was lost in his stance, surrounded by white-golden flames.

But in their eyes, he was just flapping his hands like a bird.

Jia Xin couldn’t bear it any longer as she laughed, covering her mouth. "Hahahah. Did junior brother think he would master it if he flapped his hands like a bird?"

Her grin was the breaking point. Lei Feng and Li Ming couldn’t hold it any longer.

"Hahah."

Su Yang would be embarrassed if he were to see it from their point of view, as he was just like a human trying out awkward bird-like behaviour. And his flames? They weren’t visible to them since they were still virtual, only felt and experienced by him.

Bai Ruo’s lips curved up, but she controlled herself.

"Master, what if he breaks his muscles?" Lei Feng questioned, with pity flashing in his mind. He was already imagining his junior brother imitating a bird and breaking his tissues, then finding out his stance was fake! It made him giggle.

"This wouldn’t cause him any harm." Bai Ruo waved her palm. "At most, pain for a few days. That’s all."

They shook their heads and headed towards their chambers. On the way, Jia Xin scratched her chin. "Master, did you see a Phoenix?"

"I didn’t. It’s not easy." Bai Ruo answered. "Your junior brother strained his mind, so he felt a Phoenix appearing in front of him." She held her forehead. "A troublesome fellow."

She felt Su Yang would cause a lot of trouble in the future.

The Undying Phoenix that manifested in the sky before was only visible to Su Yang.

The sun began to rise as an orange hue filled the sky.

Su Yang froze. He pulled out his storage bag and dumped all his belongings on the ground. Only clothes, coins, and other essentials fell to the ground, not what he had wanted.

His lips twitched as he glared at the pile of empty bottles in the corner.

"This is too much." He lay down on his bed, spreading his limbs. "I never imagined I’d experience poverty."

In just one night, he’d devoured a hundred bottles of Blood Strengthening Pills!

"One pill was enough for a day." He counted. "I brought extra just in case, but they were gone in an instant..." He sat up straight. "1000 pills!"

He glanced at his hand as it lit up with white-golden flames. Unlike before, the wooden walls began to turn black. Even the mattress started to change colour.

"They materialised in real life." He smiled as resource consumption went into the back of his head.

"Nirvana flames." His body was covered with flames for a moment, and they vanished. "It feels great." He recovered in an instant from all the tiredness and strain.

"Let’s test out my strength." He stepped out. He took a deep breath as the morning sunlight hit him.

He lightly tapped his feet on the ground, and whoosh! took off towards the grassy fields on the mountain peak. His body glowed with a white-golden aura.

In just around eleven seconds, he covered a hundred metres, using his Blood Qi.

"My speed is about 10 m/s." He estimated. "This is indeed exceptional Blood Qi." He couldn’t contain his joy. "And I’m just at Entry level."

He then spotted a random tree, almost ten metres high. He placed his palms on it as they glowed with the aura. He clenched his hands as they pierced deep into the stem. He applied force and pulled the tree up little by little. In a flash, the tree was pulled out!

He lifted it and weighed it. "My lifting force is now 1 ton." He then held the tree and slapped it back into its original place, and clapped his hands.

"Incredible." He couldn’t help but grin. "Normal Blood Qi Entry experts with 10 wisps have around 100 kg lifting force and a speed of 5 m/s."

He almost jumped. "I’m at least ten times stronger."

Su Yang forgot the most important thing, though: the type of his Blood Qi. Unlike ordinary Blood Qi, his could recover him better and had far more potential and strength.

He patted his cheeks. "Now, I’m no longer weak." He checked himself in the pond nearby. "I’m also handsome."

His face had changed from pale to porcelain white, and his thin body had gained muscles. He wasn’t bulky but rather had a perfect body with the right amount of muscle. He tilted his head. "Even my height seems to have increased."

He swiftly measured himself. "Now I’m 5’11". Good."

He then took a bath in the pond as a large board saying ’Shower Area’ was placed next to it.

He didn’t forget to brush his teeth.

"I’ll take resources from the Master." He dashed towards the wooden dwellings.

The sun had risen fully by now. He smelled nice food and couldn’t help but lick his lips.

Spotting Bai Ruo near the cooking pot, along with his fellow disciples, he spread his hand. "Master, I need cultivation resources."

Bai Ruo blinked her eyes at him. She glanced around her sect. ’I’m so poor, you’re asking me for resources?’

"Master," Jia Xin coughed, as she noticed her master had almost lost her composure.

Bai Ruo elegantly said, "Su Yang, as your master, I only provide techniques."

"Only techniques?" Su Yang turned towards the others. Li Ming was spinning the stick in the pot to mix the food and didn’t raise his head, as if he didn’t hear him.

Jia Xin was cutting onions on a cutting board on the ground.

Lei Feng smirked. "Junior brother, we disciples fight for our own resources."

"Indeed." Bai Ruo hurried to agree plainly. She folded her hands behind her back as she stood up. "Su Yang, just cultivating indoors isn’t enough."

She pointed towards the entry point of the mountains. "Go there, earn resources yourself."

Su Yang agreed with bright eyes. "Indeed, if Master provides everything, how can we stand up in this cultivation world?"

Everyone smiled at him.

Bai Ruo pulled a few talismans from her storage ring and handed them to Su Yang. "Take these for your safety and go show the power of our sect."

Su Yang patted his chest. "Yes, Master." He checked the talismans. They were of different colours, and around 5 to 6 inches long and 2 inches wide, with markings of all kinds of symbols and inscriptions.

He read one talisman’s name from the centre, as it was written in large font. "Fireball Talisman."

He found attack, defence, and other types. ’They are enough for me to save my life.’ He even found a Level 3 talisman. He mused, ’Master must’ve thought these are enough for me.’

He then cupped his hands. "I’ll depart now, Master." He then, under the wide-open mouths of the others, hurried down the mountain peak.

"Wait. He didn’t even eat." Jia Xin exclaimed.

"Just how can he be in such a rush?" Li Ming’s eyes widened.

They shook their heads and began having breakfast.

"No!" Bai Ruo stood up. She held her head. "He ran away!"

"What?" the disciples exclaimed.

"Just think of it." She asked, "I gave him a fake technique, he made bird movements, and today, with resources in hand, he dashed off."

The food fell from their hands. They stopped caring about anything else and also sped up, hurrying down the mountain to catch up with Su Yang.

Meanwhile, the pot was still burning.
