Seeing the two of them, Song Xuezhi’s expression immediately turned cold.

At this moment, this pair of siblings showing up was clearly up to no good.

Yet Zhou Weidong still didn’t realize he was unwelcome.Full novel: I Dumped My Sister-Obsessed Fiancé and Married His Commander Instead — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Xuezhi, why are you back so late?” he stepped forward, looking her over. His eyes fell on the lunchbox she was carrying, and his stomach growled.

They hadn’t eaten dinner yet.

“None of your business.” Song Xuezhi couldn’t be bothered to deal with him and walked over to unlock the door.

On the side, Zhou Yuwei frowned and interjected, “Sister-in-law, my brother is just concerned about you…”

“I don’t need it.” Song Xuezhi turned and tried to close the door.

But the flimsy wooden door of the rental house was barely intact. Zhou Weidong pushed it open with one hand and squeezed inside, looking at the lunchbox in her hand and saying in a low voice, “You went to the military canteen to get food?”

In the past, Song Xuezhi would use his military family status to get discounted meals from the canteen to solve their food needs. And if he was delayed by training and missed mealtime, she would also bring back portions for him and Zhou Yuwei and her child.

So Zhou Weidong didn’t think much of it and was about to sit down and eat with her. He wanted to solve the immediate problem of hunger first, then talk about everything else.

“I didn’t. I have nothing to do with you anymore. I won’t go to the military canteen again,” Song Xuezhi said as she put the lunchbox on the table, somewhat irritably taking off her coat. She was thinking about how to get these two out.

The room was already cramped, and Zhou Weidong, tall and broad, took up most of the space. He lowered his head, opened the lunchbox, and seeing the rich dishes inside, his throat moved as he swallowed.

She definitely couldn’t finish all this alone.

“You bought this from the state-run restaurant, right? Food there is expensive. It’s fine, you can still use my name to get meals from the canteen…” he said.

“What are you doing?!” Song Xuezhi hadn’t expected him to touch her food in a split second. She rushed over and slammed the lid shut, then looked at him and Zhou Yuwei, biting her lip and sneering, “You two are really that hungry? What, you ran out of money for the kid’s surgery and now you’re here to mooch off me?”

Zhou Weidong’s face stiffened at being exposed, then he said somewhat hurt, “Do you really have to be so distant with me now?”

Zhou Yuwei also tried to persuade her, “Sister-in-law, how can you see my brother like that? Little An is still in the hospital. We came here specifically to find you, to clear up misunderstandings…”

“I said it already, we broke off the engagement! Once my mother comes to settle this, we’ll have nothing to do with each other!” Song Xuezhi stressed again.

“What? Your mother is coming?” Zhou Weidong’s expression changed slightly.

“Yes. I told her about us. She said she’s coming in a few days. Zhou Weidong, when she arrives, you’d better cooperate so we can settle this properly.”

Zhou Weidong was a bit disoriented. He had thought she was just throwing a tantrum, but now this had escalated to involving parents.

Come to think of it, he had never met Song Xuezhi’s parents…

Before he could think further, Zhou Yuwei reacted first, her eyes red as she said pitifully, “Sister-in-law, my brother has done some things wrong these past days, I’ll apologize for him… Can we settle this privately? Why drag the elders into it? People will think my brother is bullying you…”

Song Xuezhi was stunned by her shamelessness.

So what about everything they did to her? Wasn’t that bullying?

Back then, she had been foolish enough to endure it.

Now that she woke up, she wasn’t even allowed to seek justice?

“Get lost! Get out of my house!” Song Xuezhi suddenly slapped her hard across the face.

“You—this house is paid for by my brother…” Zhou Yuwei started to say.

She could have dodged, but she glanced at Zhou Weidong and chose not to, letting the slap land.

As expected, Zhou Weidong flew into a rage.

“Why do you keep hitting Yuwei?!” he said coldly, suppressing his anger. “Enough! Stop!”

“Brother… it hurts…” Zhou Yuwei clutched her reddened face, tearful, tugging at his sleeve.

Song Xuezhi sneered at her: “Green tea bitch. If you love your brother so much, why don’t you marry him?”

“Shut up! What nonsense are you talking about?” Zhou Weidong pulled his sister behind him, jaw tight, eyes burning with anger. “Give me the 200 yuan back now—use it to compensate Yuwei!”

“Oh, so that’s what this is about,” Song Xuezhi mocked. “Here for money, huh?”

Zhou Weidong was furious. “Money, money, money! Is that all you ever care about?!”

“Yes,” she nodded. “I am that vulgar woman who loves money. Unlike you two, so pure and noble—except when you’re trying to take my dowry.”

“How can you speak like that?!” he snapped.

“Hit a nerve?” she laughed. “That slap was because she deserved it. Want me to pay? Dream on.”

Zhou Weidong’s face turned green with rage.

At that moment, she felt completely unfamiliar to him.

Once she had been gentle, timid, dependent on him like a vine.

Now she was like a lit firecracker—exploding at the slightest touch.

Seeing that this didn’t work, Zhou Yuwei quickly changed tactics, leaning weakly against Zhou Weidong and crying, “Brother, maybe we should call the police… How can she hit me like this? Today she hits me, tomorrow she might even hit Little An…”

Zhou Weidong’s expression darkened further.

He stared at her face, trying to find even a trace of hesitation.

But she didn’t care at all, smiling instead as if enjoying the show.

“Go ahead and report it. Worst case, I go to jail. But I’m not paying you a single cent!”

Zhou Weidong clenched his fists so tightly his knuckles turned white. His breathing grew heavier, as if on the verge of explosion.

“Fine. So you want to go to jail?” he slammed his fist on the table. “Then go to prison for a day and calm yourself down!!”
