When the light shone into the covers, Bai Shuijin’s eyes brightened along with it, as clear as the sky after a rainstorm.

“Hubby-bro, let’s sleep together.”

He curled up in the blankets, reaching out to pat the spot beside him. With a sincere gaze, he issued an earnest invitation.Full novel: I Entered the Villains’ Den While Pretending to Be a Righteous Man — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“I’ve already warmed up the bed. The temperature is just right for you to come in now.”

Bai Shuijin’s gaze only lingered on Wang Huanxiu’s face for a moment before shifting down to the man’s abs.

Hello again, my favorites.

But now wasn’t the time to greet Hubby-bro’s abs; his biggest curiosity was whether the man’s rear was truly flat.

Actually, Bai Shuijin didn’t care all that much; as family, he should offer the utmost tolerance. He had already decided that even if Hubby-bro had a flat butt, he wouldn’t voice any opinions or comments.

After all, no one is perfect. Wang Huanxiu has wealth, looks, and power so what if he’s lacking a little bit of “back”?

It was just that in his past life, Bai Shuijin had studied ballroom dancing, so he had a bit of an obsession with physique and form.

Seeing Wang Huanxiu standing by the bed without moving, he crawled out of the quilt. “What? Aren’t you going to sleep?”

Wang Huanxiu’s eyes were terrifyingly dark. “How am I supposed to sleep with you here?”

“By closing your eyes and sleeping, of course.”

He reached out to take Wang Huanxiu’s large hand, pulling him toward the bed. “Hubby-bro, I’m a very quiet sleeper. I’ll be good and definitely won’t disturb you.”

He knelt on the bed, moving his legs back while exerting force to tug Wang Huanxiu closer.

Even though the man was a villain and he, as “cannon fodder,” should be afraid, he loved this man’s physique too much. Nothing was more soothing than Hubby-bro’s perfect body.

Wang Huanxiu’s image perfectly fit the “overbearing CEO” archetype: cold, powerful, strikingly handsome, with a robust build and a healthy physique.

He used to like watching college guys play basketball at school; now he liked watching Wang Huanxiu walk around half-clothed at home even if the man was wearing a bath towel on his lower half.

Bai Shuijin’s gaze was incredibly direct, as if he wanted to devour the man with that little mouth of his.

Wang Huanxiu felt a subtle sense of absurdity, even finding the person before him laughable. He didn’t know what kind of tricks the guy was playing now, but the idea of “devouring” him was a bit delusional.

His mood was already poor, and he had no patience for these little schemes. He pried the hand away and, with a slight shove, sent the other person tumbling back into the bed. Bai Shuijin felt his world spin for a moment; by the time he scrambled back up, Wang Huanxiu had already ignored him and laid down on the other side to sleep.

Bai Shuijin could see his exhaustion. Leaving at 8:00 AM and returning at midnight it was even more insane than a fourteen-hour workday.

He didn’t know how much work the company had; he just didn’t want the man to be so tired.

Even for a robot, running non-stop eventually leads to a short circuit.

Even while resting, Wang Huanxiu’s brow was slightly furrowed. Bai Shuijin crawled over, his pajama legs riding up to his calves and revealing smooth, delicate skin.

He slipped under the quilt and flopped down next to Wang Huanxiu. Since the man was lying with his back to him, those beautiful spinal muscles were exposed to his sight.

Bai Shuijin reached out and began to press and grind against several acupressure points on the man’s back, grunting with the effort since it was hard to exert power while lying down.

The person beside him suddenly turned over and clamped down on his wrist. “What are you doing?”

The man’s aura and pressure came flooding over him.

Wang Huanxiu’s impatience had clearly reached its breaking point; the only reason he hadn’t exploded at Bai Shuijin was due to his own upbringing and manners.

“Hubby-bro, I saw how tired you were, so I’m giving you a massage. Pressing those spots helps you relax.”

“I don’t need it. Go to sleep.”

His voice sounded exceptionally cold in the dark.

“Hubby-bro, you’re so tired that I feel uncomfortable.”

“Why does my being tired make you uncomfortable?”

“Because you’re not enthusiastic toward me anymore.”

Wang Huanxiu: “…”

He couldn’t understand Bai Shuijin’s logic. When had he ever been enthusiastic toward him?

Seeing his silence, Bai Shuijin reached behind the man’s neck to knead and massage.

In his past life, he had been an apprentice at a nursing home, earning 3,500 yuan a month. He had learned many massage techniques there, but because the location was remote and few people came, it went bankrupt after a few months. He’d had to find another job that allowed hourly shifts.

Wang Huanxiu’s shoulders were wider, his legs longer, and he was taller with more muscle and strength. Bai Shuijin lying next to him was like a little chick.

With his neck being massaged, the feeling of his muscles relaxing caused the man’s brow to smooth out slightly.

“Hubby-bro, I’ll just massage you for a bit and then I’ll sleep. It’ll be quick.”

“This way you’ll sleep more comfortably.”

“Hubby-bro, I’m just giving you a massage. I won’t do anything else to you.”

Wang Huanxiu stared at him for a few seconds before closing his eyes. Bai Shuijin had been in the house for a while now; he didn’t care if there was an extra person as long as his rhythm wasn’t disrupted.

A pleasant scent of cassia drifted between them, relaxing the nerves.

He seemed to have never smelled this scent before it came from Bai Shuijin. He didn’t know if it was shampoo or body wash, but it was exceptionally pleasant. As long as the person didn’t cause a scene, he could keep supporting him in this house.

“Bai Shuijin.”

Bai Shuijin looked at his face, which looked like an AI-modeled masterpiece. “Yes, Hubby-bro?”

“I’ve said before: no matter what your motives are, since you married me, just stay here quietly.”

“Of course.” Bai Shuijin nodded his head against the pillow. “Hubby-bro, don’t worry. I don’t have any ‘malicious’ intentions toward you.”

He made a solemn vow. Having received an answer, Wang Huanxiu stopped speaking and closed his eyes to rest.

The hand at the back of his neck continued to lightly press his acupoints. Wang Huanxiu didn’t know when he would fall asleep; after all, entering sleep is an unconscious act.

Aside from being a bit clingy, Bai Shuijin wasn’t bad.

As for whether the guy would do something disadvantageous to him as Jiang You had claimed he couldn’t be certain, but during this time, Bai Shuijin truly hadn’t done anything.

Just as he had said: no malicious intentions.

After an unknown amount of time, a slight sound came from the spot beside him.

“Hubby-bro, are you asleep?”

The other person whispered into his ear, the breath brushing against his ear like a feather hot and itchy.

Wang Huanxiu didn’t respond.

“Hubby-bro.”

He called again, sounding like a pampered cat in the dead of night.

“He’s really asleep,” Bai Shuijin muttered softly.

The other person had confirmed the fact that he was in a deep sleep.

Wang Huanxiu felt indifferent. Bai Shuijin checking to see if he was asleep must be for a reason.

Thinking about it, the sudden request to sleep together tonight was indeed suspicious.

Was it the documents in the study? Or the USB drive in his briefcase?

One second he was vowing no malicious intent, and the next, he was showing his true colors.

The man didn’t move, wanting to see what Bai Shuijin would do.

The next moment, he felt the other’s breath draw close. A soft hand reached toward his lower back and gave it a feel through the fabric.

“…”

After feeling for a moment, Bai Shuijin withdrew his hand. Wang Huanxiu kept his eyes closed and heard him let out a long sigh of relief.

“It’s perky. I can rest easy now.”

Then, the “mutton-fat jade” buried himself against the man’s chest and fell asleep.

Wang Huanxiu: “…”

What a truly thorough case of sexual harassment.

When Bai Shuijin woke up the next morning, the spot beside him was empty.

The room was dim, as dark as night, perfect for sleeping; Wang Huanxiu hadn’t opened the blackout curtains when he got up.

By the time Bai Shuijin walked downstairs, it was 9:00 AM. Wang Muguang, wearing a trendy hoodie and casual pants, was sitting on the sofa looking at his phone. Seeing him come down, he offered a greeting.

“Good morning, Shorty.” A standard toothy grin appeared on his handsome face. “You must be happy to death seeing me first thing in the morning.”

Bai Shuijin: “…”

Suddenly, this morning isn’t so good anymore.

Bai Shuijin went to the dining room for breakfast and then carried a cup of black tea to the living room.

Even though he was on vacation at home, Wang Muguang still had work to coordinate; he was currently on a phone call.

“I got it. Just send the script over.”

Bai Shuijin sipped his tea and eavesdropped. When Wang Muguang hung up, he asked curiously, “Is something happening?”

There was no point in hiding it, so Wang Muguang explained, “My manager and assistant are coming over soon to bring me a script.”

Wang Muguang had accepted a role in Night Traveler. Before joining the cast, the script would be sent to him so he could read and familiarize himself with the character. About an hour later, the studio staff arrived. But the scripts they brought weren’t just for Night Traveler; there were others he had accepted as well.

The role Wang Muguang was playing in Night Traveler was the villain in his younger years. In his youth, the villain was an honest man whose family ran a fabric dyeing workshop. However, because they offended a local thug, the family was destroyed, and he ended up on the streets as a beggar, begging daily to feed himself and his terminally ill mother.

In the drama, the villain’s past was usually explained through dialogue. The director felt that verbal explanation wouldn’t achieve the desired effect, so they decided to film some flashbacks of the young villain to intersperse throughout the show.

The reason Night Traveler was such a hit was because every character was memorable. The actor playing the adult villain was a very charismatic middle-aged man.

In terms of screen presence, he was second only to the male lead and the stunning newcomer playing the second lead.

Being a cameo, the script wasn’t thick. It didn’t take Wang Muguang long to finish reading.

He then pulled the studio staff into a roleplay. Wang Muguang acted according to the script, simulating a scene on set.

Bai Shuijin watched curiously, only to see Wang Muguang playing a beggar who looked like he was “standing up while begging for food.”

The lines had zero emotion, the acting was superficial, and he couldn’t let go of his “idol baggage.”

He held a teacup in his hand as if it were his begging bowl, holding it with one hand in a way that evoked zero pity.

After the performance, Wang Muguang was very satisfied with himself, and applause broke out in the living room.

The manager and assistant clapped. “Brother Mu, that was amazing! Truly a vivid performance.”

“Really?” Wang Muguang wore a satisfied smile and turned to Bai Shuijin. “Shorty, what do you think?”

The latter spoke up: “More like a ‘buried’ performance.”

“…”
