The air suddenly became chilled as Nikolai took a step forward.

My heart clenched tight, and I stumbled backwards.Full novel: I Fell for My Wife’s Mafia Uncle[BL] — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He stopped.

“Why are you here?” His eyebrows raised and his eyes trailed my body, when he saw the car keys dangling on my thumbs, he scoffed.

He took another step forward, and I couldn’t think of anything better than a truth wrapped in a lie.

“I followed you here.” I muttered and his eyes widened.

I felt life escape from me the moment I said those words.

For a fleeting moment, I gasped at the thought of actually following him here.

I swallowed as tension gripped my nerves causing air to escape my barely parted lips.

But he, Nikolai, was without words.

He stared into my eyes without batting an eye.

One, two, I counted and he squinted as if waiting for more information.

But I had none.

After a few moments of silence and tensed air, I asked him, closing the space between by two steps.

“Why are you here?”

He didn’t answer.

It felt as though he was deep in thoughts.

His hands were in his pockets, and suddenly – he leaned closer, and whispered in my ears.

“What happens in a club?”

When his warm breaths hit my skin, the hair at the back of my neck stood.

A rush of adrenaline caused the muscles of my feet to tighten against the floor.

I stumbled loading my balance, but then-

His hands flew around my waist, and he pulled me to his body.

His lips inches away, causing a gulp down my throat.

‘Why would you follow me here?”

“I…” I stuttered.

I quickly got away from him, checking myself back to reality.

And I uttered snickering lies between my teeths, “I woke up and I couldn’t find you.

But then I saw you driving out, and I couldn’t think of anything other than to follow you.

I just wanted to know if you are fine.”

“Checking on me?

Why” he asked.

“I…” I couldn’t find an excuse, but then I lied again.

“Didn’t you get hurt?”

He furrowed his brows. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.

I parted my lips and then slowly bit it.

“I thought you did, and I…wanted to know if you are fine.”

“Interesting…Now that you know…” He raised a brow.

And I waited for him to complete his words.

“Shouldn’t you leave now?” He asked.

How could I leave now?

Pinky was standing right beside him.

If Nikolai had found out that I was gay, I wonder if he’d expose me and have the marriage annulled.

I couldn’t risk it.

I needed to know what he knows.

I couldn’t leave.

“Of course not.

It’s a club, shouldn’t we go inside?”

He walked past me.

“I’m heading home.” He walked past me but I quickly grabbed his hand and he stopped.

“Perhaps, we should go together.” I hadn’t realized I had my hands locked with his.

He stared at me and then let his eyes trail to our hands locked together.

It was a warning, though I was reluctant.

His skin was the warmth I have ever felt.

And the feeling of his hands against my body back at the dressing room, and his when he carried me in his arms to rescue me, all left replaying in my head.

I didn’t let go of his hands.

I couldn’t.

“Did you hurt your head that much?” He asked, trying to get rid of my arm around his, but I held it firmly and smiled.

“No.” I leaned closer and said, “My life is now yours, Nikolai.”

He was quiet.

“Perhaps, I will let you join me.” He didn’t respond to me.

We walked to the car and when he opened the door, he waited for me to go in.

When I climbed on, he covered the edge of the car with his hand, preventing me from hitting my head against the car’s roof.

We sat beside each other in the car, and he didn’t even look my way, not once.

Pinky didn’t come with us.

She went with his other guard Thomas.

“Nikolai…” I muttered but then my stomach grumbled and he looked at it.

“Gregory, I think I’m famished.”

There was no way to tell, Nikolai always had a cold expression.

“Will stop at a restaurant boss.”

“Restaurants?

There is a good place for a hot pot around.

If you don’t mind I can show you.” I interrupted.

He looked at me and didn’t say anything.

Then I said to Gregory, “By Clifford road, there’s a Chinese restaurant.”

“You know your way around here.

Have you been to the club before?” Nikolai asked and I pursed my lips.

“It’s a club.”

“It’s not just a club.” He muttered.

Of course, it was a gay club but there were ladies in the club as well, anyone who just enters into such a club would not immediately realize until later.

“Then what is it?

I’ve been there once and thought it looked quite normal.”

He hummed.

Gregory stopped over at the local hotpot and my lips curled into a smile.

“Let’s go in.” I got out of the car and waited by the door for him, he didn’t seem to like it.

After we were seated, the waitress gave us each a menu and I placed an order for a Chinese hotpot.

I couldn’t help but think about my mother when I saw the menu.

“What else do you want sir?

The waitress asked, and I picked a few side dishes.

I looked at Nikolai but he was busy looking at the menu like it was some business document.

“You can just add to the dishes.

Their hotpot is the best.”

“I don’t eat such food.”

He wanted to go ahead and place an order but I snatched the menu from him and turned to the waitress.

“You can just add steak to the side dishes I’ve picked.”

The waitress walked out.

Nikolai ‘s gaze was fixed on me, and I knew just how irritated he was, but I smiled to try to blow it off.

“Just for today, let me feed you.

As a thank you, since I owe you my life.”

He looked at me sternly, and for a moment, I could swear I saw his lips curved into a smile.
