As Maya walked, she tilted her head and thought to herself, ‘Hmm, it’s hard to say.
I have a feeling that if you weren’t a fool anymore, you wouldn’t want me.
You have no idea how popular you are with women right now.
They’re young, beautiful, and rich enough to buy nice cars—they’re worlds better than me.’
The worried look on Morgan’s face deepened.
“I don’t like them.
I only like you!
I don’t want their sponsorship, and I’m not going to the doctor.”
Maya was noncommittal about his decision to refuse treatment.
She also hoped Morgan could become a normal person again, but she suspected this sponsorship was just an attempt to capitalize on his online fame.
Maya didn’t want him to be exploited.
‘Once I earn a bit more money, I’ll take him to the doctor myself.’
Maya’s mind was wandering, and she didn’t notice the rock she was about to step on.
Her body lurched, and she started to fall backward!
“AHHH—”
She shrieked, instinctively reaching for Morgan in front of her!
Morgan’s reaction was a bit slow.
Although he managed to grab Maya’s hand, his own body pitched forward, and he was about to pin her solidly to the ground!
How could her slender frame possibly withstand his weight?
Fortunately, he hugged Maya and rolled over as they hit the ground.
Otherwise, with all his weight, he would have surely crushed the breath out of her!
Maya felt a wave of dizziness as she fell heavily on top of Morgan, leaving her completely dazed.
Morgan was badly frightened too, his hands clutching her waist tightly, not daring to move an inch!
When he came to his senses, his gaze drifted downward.
Upon seeing that Maya’s chest was partially exposed, he snatched his hands away as if he’d been burned, whipping his head to the side.
A strangled groan escaped his throat.
Maya immediately scrambled off him.
“I’m so sorry!
I made you fall too!”
She pulled Morgan up.
“Are you okay?
Did you get hurt badly?”
Remembering the feeling of Maya on top of him, Morgan shook his head, his face flushing.
“It doesn’t hurt at all.
All that matters is that you’re okay!”
After they got back and showered, Maya instructed Morgan, “Go lie down on my bed.”
It was as if a bomb had gone off in Morgan’s head.
He blushed and stammered, “I…
I can’t touch your bed!”
Maya, applying hand lotion, said, “I told you I was going to give you a massage, didn’t I?
I can’t do it on the floor.
Now go!”
Inside, Morgan was so happy it felt like little fireworks were popping in his chest.
“Oh,” he said, before obediently pulling back the bed curtain.
He stood before the tidy bed for a moment before cautiously climbing on and lying face down.
‘Wow, her pillows smell amazing!’
Maya was a professional when it came to massages.
She would often give them to customers at the shop while they had their face masks on.
Now, she leaned over slightly and began to press down on his shoulders and back, targeting his acupressure points.
Her technique was nimble and precise.
At first, Morgan’s body was tense, but he slowly began to relax and enjoy it, unable to hold back a contented sigh.
As she worked, Maya said, “Massaging these points can relieve fatigue and help you sleep.
You’ll definitely sleep well tonight.”
Morgan couldn’t help but say, “Maya, can you teach me?”
Maya asked, “What would you learn this for?”
“So I can give you a massage when you get home from work,” Morgan said earnestly.
Maya laughed.
“How thoughtful.
See?
My pampering you hasn’t been a complete waste.”
She gave his waist a squeeze.
“You little rascal, you’re all muscle.
Pretty firm, too.”
When she massaged his lower back, Morgan suddenly hissed in pain.
“Ah?
Was I pressing too hard?
I’ll be gentler!” Maya jumped.
Morgan’s brow furrowed.
He seemed to be in so much pain that he couldn’t even speak.
Confused, Maya lifted his shirt and discovered a large bruise on his lower back!
Her heart skipped a beat.
“Was this from when you fell on the rock earlier?”
Morgan reached back and pulled his shirt down, trying to cover the bruise.
“It’s nothing.
It doesn’t hurt at all.”
A pang of distress hit Maya.
“You fool.
It’s bruised like this, and you still say it doesn’t hurt!”
She went to find some ointment, saying, “Next time you get hurt, you have to tell me.
If I find out you’re hiding it from me again, you’ll see how I deal with you!”
Even though she sounded fierce, Morgan felt a warmth spread through his heart.
The corners of his lips curled up as he mumbled, “Okay.”
Maya returned with the ointment.
“Lie still.
Putting some of this on will make it hurt less.”
The cool ointment on his skin still stung a little, but Morgan found it incredibly soothing.
‘Especially her hands,’ he thought.
‘They’re so soft.
I love how they feel.’
He didn’t understand why his heart would beat faster and his body would grow warm whenever he thought about her touching him.
His hand gripped the bedsheet lightly as he tried to suppress the strange sensations in his body.
As Maya applied the medicine, she couldn’t help but sigh.
“You know, Morgan, no one has ever been this good to me in my entire life.”
“And no one has ever been as good to me as you are,” Morgan said sincerely.
A smile touched Maya’s eyes.
“If you ever leave, I don’t think I’ll be able to get used to it.”
She could feel her bond with her “little fool” growing stronger every day, but she knew that as soon as he found his family, he would leave.
Morgan turned his head to look at her, promising earnestly, “I won’t leave.
I want to be with you forever!”
Maya asked, “Even if you find your family, you won’t go home?”
Morgan mumbled, “Didn’t you say that this is our home?”
Maya suppressed a smile.
“Yes, yes, you’re right.
You have a great memory.”
She finished applying the ointment and went back to massaging him.
“Morgan, I’m going to buy you a bed tomorrow.
You shouldn’t sleep on the floor anymore.”
A bed would cost money, so Morgan immediately refused.
“I like sleeping on the floor!”
Maya knew his real reason and said with a smile, “You’re working so hard now.
It’s not good for you to sleep on such a hard surface.”
Morgan still shook his head.
“No.
There’s no room for it in the house.”
It was true.
The tiny room had no extra space for another bed.
Maya looked around and said, “Then you can sleep on the bed, and I’ll sleep on the sofa.
I’m small, so I can fit.”
The sofa was only four feet long.
No matter how small she was, she’d have to curl up into a ball to sleep on it.
In a rare, decisive tone, Morgan said, “You are not allowed to sleep on the sofa!”
Maya knew how stubborn he could be when he dug his heels in.
Just as she was wondering how to convince him, she heard Morgan say quietly, “Your bed…
it can fit two people…”
Maya nearly choked.
She gave his head a sharp rap.
“You dare suggest sleeping next to me?
I’ll beat you senseless!”
“OW~” Morgan cried out in pain.
‘Maya has a bit of a violent streak,’ he thought.
‘She’s so gentle when she’s being nice, but when she hits me, it really hurts!’
Seeing his pouting face, Maya snorted with laughter.
“I know you didn’t mean anything by it, but men and women need to maintain a proper distance.
We can’t just sleep in the same bed!”
Morgan muttered, “But they say…
husbands and wives…
are supposed to sleep together…”
