Qin Che froze.
I have a Golden Finger but I'm not a Ghost Controller, and you, Zhang Qiang, become a Ghost Controller?
A Ghost Controller, as the name suggests, is someone who can control a Fierce Ghost, coexisting in the same body, with the Human occupying the dominant thought.
It's only been a few hours, how did he acquire a ghost?
Qin Che couldn't figure it out no matter how hard he tried.
Zhang Qiang twisted his right wrist and sneered at Qin Che, "The way you look now is really disgusting."
"Did I provoke you?" Qin Che was helpless, but he wasn't scared either. They were in the hotel Restaurant right now, and Qin Che didn't think Zhang Qiang had the Brain to cause a scene in public.
"I just don't like the sight of you," Zhang Qiang said coldly.
"If you don't like it, then just deal with it." Qin Che was also annoyed looking at him. He had just refused the Mirror Ghost's Request to beat him up, and now this guy delivered himself right to the door. "Have you earned enough Points? Barking at me here?"
"Heh, interesting." Zhang Qiang couldn't help but laugh, then his eyes suddenly became sharp. "There will always be a time when you're alone. I'll see how I finish you off then."
"Zhang Qiang, we are all classmates, this isn't good," He Lulu said, pulling Qin Che aside, afraid the two would start fighting right there in the Restaurant.
"What's it to you? Get lost! Go do your Work!" Zhang Qiang raised his hand, and the eye on his palm glared fiercely at her.
Instantly, He Lulu's face turned deathly pale, but her gaze remained firm, tightly gripping Qin Che's hand. "Aren't you afraid the Teacher will have you Fired when you get back to school!"
"I have to survive to get back first." After saying this, Zhang Qiang turned and headed toward the Restaurant Kitchen.
Seeing Zhang Qiang Leave, He Lulu finally breathed a sigh of relief and said to Qin Che, "Qin Che, I don't know what happened between you two, but you should still be careful. Zhang Qiang's temperament changed drastically after becoming a Ghost Controller; he might really move against you."
"What is all this nonsense," Qin Che rolled his eyes helplessly. Since entering the Thriller World, he seemed to have been incredibly unlucky—first a Female Ghost, then a male ghost, and now a Ghost Controller.
This put him in a bind. He had promised the Mirror Ghost that he would make Zhang Qiang apologize to his Brother, but under the current circumstances, it seemed impossible. Furthermore, Qin Che wasn't the type to back down.
He would have to explain it to the Mirror Ghost later. Qin Che thought this, then asked He Lulu, "Thanks, Lu Lu. How are things going for you in the Restaurant?"
He Lulu shook her head. "I'm doing the best among us. Those ghosts haven't done anything to me, but He Chao, Shu Ya, and Jin Yan all..."
"What happened to them?"
"They disappeared." He Lulu lowered her head, forcing back tears. "It's only the first day. They probably didn't serve the Guests well enough, so the Steward of the Restaurant killed them."
Qin Che was suddenly stunned, his heart filled with complex emotions. "Why? Didn't we only settle Points after getting off work? And it was just a punishment, it didn't say they would be Killed directly!"
"I don't know! I don't know!" He Lulu shook her head frantically, tears streaming down her face. She quickly wiped her eyes. "I have to go to Work."
With that, she scurried off toward the Restaurant Kitchen.
"Sigh," Qin Che sighed, feeling something stuck in his throat, a bit choked up, but not knowing what to do.
In the Thriller World, even the cozy game mode was fraught with Danger.
Qin Che adjusted his emotions, forcing himself not to dwell on the matter, before returning to the Lobby.
Seeing Qin Che return with a complicated expression, Jack walked up to him and looked at him strangely. "What is that thing on your face?"
Qin Che pointed to his face. "This? Mud. You wouldn't believe it, I was looking at Mosiah's file earlier and got targeted by another Female Ghost again. She said I was handsome and then asked if I was for sale. My goodness, that's too much. So I figured I'd smear some dirt on my face to cover up a bit."
"That's not bad," Jack said. "I wish I had the chance to be noticed."
"You're not ugly either," Qin Che said truthfully. After the events of the last few hours, Qin Che still felt Jack was better; at least he didn't have any intention of harming him. He was starting to develop a slight Favorability toward Jack.
"Alright, hurry up and wash the mud off your face. The Lobby is the face of the hotel, what kind of appearance is that?" Jack scolded.
"Okay," Qin Che had no choice but to agree. "Oh, right, Jack, what happens if an Employee tries to mess with me?"
"Mess with you?" Jack raised an eyebrow and asked.
"Just trying to cause trouble for me, a guy from the Restaurant."
"Then beat him up!" Jack encouraged. "Don't be afraid, just go punch him until he submits, and he won't bother you anymore! Besides, I'm quite familiar with the Restaurant's Steward. As long as the impact isn't too big, I can handle the other stuff for you. How can people from our Lobby be bullied by people from the Restaurant?"
"But he's a Ghost Controller," Qin Che said. The gap between a Ghost Controller and an ordinary Human is considerable. Qin Che didn't dare to go look for trouble with Zhang Qiang right now, did he?
"You mean Zhang Qiang?" Jack asked.
"How did you know?"
"It's quite rare for someone to become a Ghost Controller on their very first day in the Thriller World," Jack said. "But you don't need to fear him either. He's just half-baked; he hasn't even fully integrated yet, so he can't really be considered a Ghost Controller."
"Is that true or false?"
"Why would I lie to you? He's probably weak as hell right now, worse off than an ordinary Human. But if you let him complete the full integration, you won't have much of a chance. Right now, though, if you beat him half to death, you might even be able to rip the ghost out of him. Just break his arm," Jack said.
"How much longer does he need to integrate?" Qin Che started to get nervous. No wonder Zhang Qiang was only arrogant before but didn't dare to make a move—it turned out he was in a weak phase right now!
"About a day. Anyway, I'm giving you the afternoon off. Go back, change into some casual clothes, and don't let others know you're from our Lobby, so we don't always have people saying people from our Lobby are arrogant."
"Okay, I'll go change my clothes," Qin Che said, then prepared to head back to the Dormitory.
"Hey, wait a moment." Jack called Qin Che back. "Have you been up to floors 14 through 24?"
"No," Qin Che asked suspiciously. "Why would I go up there?"
"Oh, alright. Then give me your Pass. It's a waste giving it to you." Jack looked somewhat disappointed.
Hearing this, Qin Che returned the Golden Pass to Jack and went back to his Dormitory.
When the Mirror Ghost asked, Qin Che just said he would go later.
After changing into casual clothes and washing his face, Qin Che headed to the Restaurant.
On the way, Qin Che thought about many things.
Ghost Controllers are a group with extremely high status in the real world. If it weren't absolutely necessary, Qin Che truly didn't want to rip the ghost out of Zhang Qiang's body. After all, becoming a Ghost Controller is extremely, extremely difficult; this was Zhang Qiang's opportunity, and his path outside would certainly be much smoother. Qin Che was reluctant to destroy someone else's opportunity.
Arriving at the Restaurant, Qin Che found Zhang Qiang.
"What?" Zhang Qiang seemed somewhat surprised that Qin Che had come looking for him again.
"I want to talk to you," Qin Che said very sincerely.
"Talk?" Zhang Qiang suddenly smiled. He looked around at the nearby people, confirmed there were no acquaintances, and then said, "Fine. Go wait for me in the Bathroom near the Employee Elevator on the second floor. I'll be right there."
Qin Che nodded with a complicated expression, then left the Restaurant.
After Qin Che Left, the ghost in Zhang Qiang's right hand emerged, emitting a chilling voice. "Follow him quickly! Let me eat him!"
Zhang Qiang's face darkened. "I know. Wait a bit longer. If we get discovered, I won't be able to make it in the real world anymore."
