He simply looked at him quietly, his deep eyes seeming to brew a storm.

“What’s wrong?” Chen Si asked, puzzled, leaning in a little closer.

The Alpha shook his head, his voice somewhat weak.Full novel: I Ran Away After Being Coveted by My Beautiful Neighbor — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“It’s nothing, I’m just feeling a bit out of strength, so could I trouble you to give me the injection?”

As the Alpha spoke, he moved even closer to Chen Si. His hat rolled off with the motion, revealing his pale golden long hair before Chen Si’s eyes, along with the Alpha’s narrow, deep, pale blue eyes.

Chen Si had never seen such beautiful eyes, crystal clear like glass marbles.

For a moment, he was stunned speechless.

The Alpha didn’t rush him either, simply meeting Chen Si’s gaze quietly.

Those clear eyes were gentle and full of tenderness, without contempt or the slightest disgust. The Alpha was different from everyone Chen Si had ever known.

Chen Si rarely had the chance to make eye contact with others.

He was rather introverted, and usually hid his eyes completely beneath overlong bangs.

So very few people had ever seen his eyes.

And of course, no one cared.

After all, he was just an unremarkable Beta.

So Alphas and Omegas generally never paid him any attention. Some, even when they did see him, looked at him with eyes full of disgust, as if they were looking at garbage.

Chen Si had experienced this countless times since childhood.

So when he suddenly met the Alpha’s gaze and encountered those gentle eyes, he froze.

He couldn’t help asking, “You… don’t mind that I’m a Beta?”

“Why would I mind?” the Alpha said with amusement, his brows curving as if smiling, his eyes even more beautiful, though his voice was very gentle. “Whatever the second gender, we’re all people. So what is there to mind? Or do you mind?”

“I don’t…”

Chen Si denied it flatly, noticing the Alpha was still watching him.

Embarrassed, he looked away, neatly tore open the packaging, flicked the syringe with his index finger, and approached the Alpha’s gland.

His movements were more practiced than he himself realized.

The Alpha’s lips curved. Seeing this, he said nothing, letting Chen Si approach his most hidden place.

He even stretched out his neck, fully exposing the gland before Chen Si’s eyes, looking as if he trusted Chen Si completely.

His pale neck was slender and long, as if a single hand could encircle it.

Chen Si watched without moving, and suddenly thought Alphas generally never exposed their glands to anyone.

Unless it was their mate.

His face flushed involuntarily, and he took a step back.

No longer letting his gaze rest on the Alpha’s slender neck.

Because the gland was the most vulnerable, most private part of their bodies.

Staring at it so openly like this felt like a roundabout way of taking liberties.

So he couldn’t help saying, “Forget it, you’d better do it yourself.”

“It’s fine, you do it. I really can’t move.”

The Alpha said softly, leaning pitifully against Chen Si, as if he truly had no strength left, utterly weak.

Chen Si couldn’t bear it. He looked at the Alpha, then at the suppressant.

He bit his lip.

In the end, the Beta moved close to the Alpha once more, syringe aimed at the Alpha’s gland, pressing lips together as they watched nervously.

Slowly pushing it in.

The Alpha seemed to feel some pain, leaning further into Chen Si, even wrapping arms around Chen Si’s waist, a pitiful, dependent look, as if they’d been terribly bullied.

Chen Si was focused entirely on the syringe and didn’t notice the Alpha’s movements.

Only after the suppressant was fully injected did they breathe a sigh of relief.

And then realized just how intimate their position was.

Their face couldn’t help flushing a little.

They reminded quietly, “Um, it’s done.”

“Mm… I know, but I still feel a bit awful, so could you stay with me a while?”
