The black lizard hissed at the calf as its blood red forked tongue flickered in and out of its mouth.
It was in a bad mood as it looked at the calf with pure hatred, blood kept pouring out of his neck making it stagger.
The lizard was mad. really, really mad as smoke was emitting from its nostrils, not metaphorically but physically.
It was exhaling out black fumes.
The lizard darted again with all his might as thick muscular forearms landed on the armour of the tired calf, the lizard’s long and sharp claws trying to rip out the plates from the body.
The calf shook his body around as it tried to break free from the grasp of the lizard.
The lizard however was in a more beneficial position. His body was slender and agile, occupied with sharp steel like claws made to hunt creatures double his size. It was an apex predator of crimson forest.
While the species of triceratops belonging to herbivores made to run from the hunters, and survive by herd instincts.
But the calf was fighting the predator anyway.
*Roar*
The calf roared in pain as the lizard bit the skin folds off from his head, blood gushing out like a fountain.
The triceratops quickly ran into a near cactus, the foot long thorns that looked like arrows shattering in an instant, some sticking into the thick hide of triceratops while some in the face of the black lizard.
*Hiss*
Both lizards cried simultaneously.
What started as a brawl quickly turned into a bloody fight as both creatures’ bodies were now drenched in the blood of each other, mixing together with no distinct identity.
Their faces now covered with black steel like thorns embedded deeply as blood dripped slowly from them.
The lizard ran off jumping back to the ground as it rolled on the ground, its forearms rubbing on its face trying to remove the barbs.
But It only made the situation more severe as blood sprayed on the ground, followed by a gut wrenching cry.
*Grhhh*
He had lost one of its eyes as it had been impaled by one of the thorns, slimly liquid pouring out from the gruesome injury.
Now one of his eyes was replaced by a mess of flesh as its punctured eyeball sticking out of the socket like a pendulum.
It was a grotesque sight to behold.
The triceratops on the other hand wasn’t that good either. Its thick armour had saved him from the thorns but he had already lost a chunk of his skin from head as the white bones were peeking out of the wound.
Both of the beasts were severely damaged by each other.
It was only the savagery of the two lizards that they were still standing with that injury, but seeing their conditions, Hadeon was sure that death was almost inevitable if they clashed one more time.
A dreadful silence lingered in the forest only to be broken by the low painful grunts of the two lizards.
One who was evolved into a flesh eater while other into a gentle herbivore.
Both lizards were looking at each other with hatred, no one daring to make the first move.
Hadeon knew whoever got hit first even once is done for in the battle.
That one mistake would be their last one.
He prepared himself as he took a deep breath and quickly summoned his flames on both hands.
Two balls of flames started to dance on his palms, rotating with high speed as they kept feeding on his spirit energy making them burn even more violently, like two miniature suns.
Hadeon waited as he continuously kept feeding the ball with his spirit energy until half of his spirit pool was emptied on the two fire balls.
Suddenly the flames got even hotter as a ring of orange flame started to appear surrounding the fast rotating ball of yellow fire.

A faint smile appeared on Hadeon’s face as he watched his skill levelled up, feeling his flames to be stronger.
An euphoric sensation spread across his body.
The black lizard was the one who made the first move.
The lizard was charging at the triceratops calf with its mouth wide open forming a beam of flames ready to roast his enemies at any moment!
The calf was just standing in front of the woman as a shield who was still lying motionless.
’Is she alright?’ Hadeon thought.
Then he quickly dismissed his thoughts seeing the determined face of the injured bloodied beast.
’Well, I think she is still alive seeing that the beast is still guarding and not leaving her alone.’
Before the lizard could even shoot his flames, Hadeon shouted and threw one of the flame balls aiming for the open mouth of the lizard.
"Enhanced Flame Ball!"
The lizard was just a few meters away from the calf as it opened his maw to release his flame torrent onto the triceratops feeling confident in his victory.
Before he knew, a ball of flame flew from a distance and exploded in its mouth.
*Boom*
A huge explosion echoed in the crimson forest.
The skill it was preparing was also collapsed into its own mouth, a flood of flames burning the throat and cavity of the creature.
A painful scream left its charred mouth.
*Grhhhh*
Chunks of meat and blood poured onto the ground.
Dumbfounded that the flame has actually managed to land in the lizard mouth as Hadeon has intended.
He quickly started to run in the direction of the injured lizard, his other flame ball aiming for the lizard’s face.
The triceratops remained frozen staring at the place where the flame ball had come previously as a look of uncertainty appeared on its face.
A weird young man wrapped with the hides of vermin was running in his direction at full speed. The human had a flame ball in his left hand and a black stick on another.
That weird man was none other than the Hadeon, who was now charging at the lizard with full speed. He was determined to kill that lizard today.
As if it had understood something, the triceratops calf quickly ran towards the lizard with his remaining strength, who was trying to run away as it was crawling towards the deep cracks.
"Shit!"
Hadeon cursed as he found it difficult to aim his skill at the lizard because of the calf coming in his sight.
He couldn’t afford to waste this skill!
And he feared that if he struck the calf with his skill it might just kill the beast. He couldn’t take this risk.
What was he going to reply to the woman after she woke up and asked for her familiar?
He killed her pet by mistake!
The lizard had almost reached the chasm, only a few meters away from the deep cracks.
’Move out of my sight, dammit. Can’t let it escape!’ Hadeon thought.
"Shit there is no way I am reaching it." Hadeon cursed as he watched the lizard jumping only a few inches away from falling into the fiery abyss.
In the next moment, he saw the triceratops darting like an arrow as it trampled its feet onto the lizard’s tail.
*Grhhh*
Another painful scream filled the silent forest.
"There’s still a chance!"
"can’t let him kill the lizard," Hadeon thought, "I need his spirit."
