By the time Chen Tianyou stepped out, dawn was just breaking.
“High school students these days have it so rough! Their schedules are packed so tightly!” Chen Tianyou couldn’t help but sigh. No wonder so many students complained about the pressure of school.
He soon drove his convertible to the school and, after parking, ran into a familiar face at the gate—it was the campus belle, Su Ling.
She was holding two books in her arms, her long hair cascading down her shoulders as she walked gracefully. The morning sunlight filtered through the leaves and dappled her figure in soft light.
Su Ling also saw Chen Tianyou at first glance. She gave a cold snort and walked straight past him.
Seeing this, Chen Tianyou felt a bit awkward. He wasn’t quite sure how to deal with his relationship with Su Ling now.
The main problem was—they were still deskmates.
If he deliberately distanced himself from Su Ling, she’d get upset. But if Lin Mo saw them close, he’d hold a grudge.
In the original plotline, he repeatedly bullied Su Ling, which caused Lin Mo’s hatred toward him to rise uncontrollably.
Clearly, keeping his distance wouldn’t work either. Right now, the smartest thing to do was play the role of a good deskmate. That way, Su Ling would see him as a decent classmate and wouldn’t badmouth him in front of Lin Mo.
Thinking this through, Chen Tianyou nodded to himself with satisfaction. As long as he didn’t follow the original plotline, everything should go smoothly!
“Class monitor!” Chen Tianyou quickly jogged to catch up.
Su Ling turned her head. When she saw it was Chen Tianyou, her brows instantly furrowed. “What do you want? Didn’t I tell you not to talk to me again?”
“Class monitor, you’re still mad? I was wrong before. I’m sincerely apologizing! I promise I’ll never do anything like that again!”
Su Ling gave him a quick once-over. He sounded so serious, it seemed almost believable.
“I don’t have time to talk to you. If you really mean it, focus that energy on your studies.”
Suddenly, a commotion came from up ahead.
“Lili, I like you. Be my girlfriend!” A student with dyed yellow spiky hair had a cigarette in his mouth and was holding a rose toward a sweet-looking girl in front of him.
Surrounding him were several other troublemakers with all sorts of colorful hairstyles.
“What? My Bro Kun is this handsome, and you’re saying you don’t like him? Are you looking down on him?!” a tall, skinny student with green hair snapped in anger.
Lili clearly looked frightened, but she still stood firm. “I really don’t like you!”
“Step aside. Don’t make me late for class.” She tried to walk past them.
“Bro Kun, she’s going too far!”
“Exactly! No one has ever dared to reject Bro Kun!”
“She’s humiliating him in public!”
One after another, the group started speaking up, and Bro Kun, the yellow-haired guy, began to get angry.
“Damn it!” He tossed his cigarette to the ground and stomped it out, then stepped forward and grabbed Lili’s wrist. “Are you looking for trouble? I’m telling you, whether you agree or not, you’re going to be my girlfriend!”
“You… If you keep this up, I’ll report you to a teacher! This is a school!” Lili tried to break free.
“Hah! Go ahead, tell them! Everyone here knows me. I’m Bro Kun. If you dare tell a teacher, I’ll block you at the school gate every day after class!”
“You thug! Let go!” Lili struggled, but Bro Kun was much stronger, and she couldn’t break free no matter how hard she tried.
“Lili!” a familiar voice called from behind.
Lili turned to see Su Ling and Chen Tianyou walking up to her.
Su Ling frowned in disgust at the group of delinquents. “You people are too bold. This is a school, and you’re openly harassing a female student. Aren’t you afraid of being punished?!”
Hearing this, Bro Kun panicked a little. Everyone in school knew Su Ling’s father was the mayor of Donghai City—no one dared to mess with her.
But when Bro Kun saw Chen Tianyou standing beside her, he immediately relaxed.
He used to follow Chen Tianyou around. With his big bro here, what was there to be afraid of?
“Brother Tianyou! What brings you here so early today?” Bro Kun quickly pulled out a cigarette and respectfully offered it to Chen Tianyou. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.
“What are you doing?” Chen Tianyou pushed the cigarette away.
“Well, Brother Tianyou, I like Qu Lili and I’m trying to pursue her!” Bro Kun grinned.
“Chen Tianyou! Another one of your great ideas?!” Su Ling shot him an angry glare. From their conversation, it was obvious these guys were part of Chen Tianyou’s circle.
“Uh…” Chen Tianyou looked helpless. Why was he getting blamed for this? He never told Bro Kun to pull this kind of stunt!
This was all the author’s fault—setting him up with a bunch of brainless lackeys. With their rainbow-colored hair, spiky cuts, and ridiculous outfits, they looked like textbook delinquents.
“What do you mean ‘uh’?! Look at your friend! He’s made Lili cry!” Su Ling pulled Qu Lili behind her.
It’s over. Chen Tianyou groaned internally. All of this was the author’s trap—he really couldn’t be blamed.
Qu Lili was also in the same class as Chen Tianyou and had a great relationship with Su Ling. The two of them often chatted and hung out.
Now that he had offended Qu Lili too, how was he supposed to maintain his image as a “model student”?
No way. He had to salvage this situation!
“Brother Tianyou, I’m just following your excellent example. But don’t worry, I’ve got this. You don’t need to step in!” Bro Kun said proudly.
Hearing that, Chen Tianyou almost exploded.
“Example? What example? You’re not my son, what ‘example’ are you following? When did I ever teach you to bully girls? And didn’t you hear her say she doesn’t like you?”
Chen Tianyou gave Bro Kun a proper scolding.
The delinquents around him were stunned.
“But Brother Tianyou, didn’t you always tell us to go for it boldly when we like someone?” Bro Kun asked, confused.
“That was then, this is now! Besides, even if you want to pursue someone, they have to like you back! If she doesn’t like you and you keep pestering her, that’s harassment! You’re in the wrong!”
“If I ever catch you bullying classmates again, believe me, I’ll beat the crap out of you!”
Chen Tianyou waved his fist threateningly as he finished.
Bro Kun swallowed hard and quickly nodded. He’d been beaten up by Chen Tianyou before—and everyone in school knew he used to be one of the top three school bullies. Getting wrecked by him was like a hobby.
