“I’m sorry…”

“I’m a rabbit, damn it, all I eat is vegetables!”

“Where the hell am I?”

“Weren’t I staying up late reading a novel?”

In the blink of an eye…

Zhang Chen looked around and found several tough-looking punks standing nearby, currently cornering a girl in a dead-end alley and bullying her…

What the hell is going on?

Did I really just drop dead from staying up all night?

I was a provincial top scorer in the college entrance exam for years, and I made millions from it, but I still hadn’t even found a place to spend it!

And now I’d die young, in such a sloppy way!?

“Damn it!”

At that thought, Zhang Chen nearly coughed up blood on the spot…

He had worked hard for years, retaking the college entrance exam to help the school that paid him compete for the provincial top scorer title, using that to make money.

After finally burning himself out on studying, making enough money, and getting life more or less smooth sailing, he could finally relax a little.

And then, after one all-nighter, he kicked the bucket!

How could he not want to cough up blood?

Feeling miserable, Zhang Chen glanced at the girl crouching on the ground and saw her carefully picking up a lunch box…

Her hair was long, and with her head lowered, her face couldn’t be seen. Her school uniform was wrinkled, and her shoes looked old, but they were all clean.

She had a slim figure, and her sniffles made her seem even more pitiable.

By all appearances, she looked like the kind of girl boys would like. So why was she being bullied by a group of punks…

“Who said you could pick that up!?”

Just as he was thinking that, one of the punks beside her saw that she wasn’t saying anything and immediately escalated things, stomping on her lunch box so she couldn’t keep picking it up.

The girl was clearly startled. She froze, and her hand, suspended in midair, didn’t dare move.

Following the sound, Zhang Chen glanced at the punk who had spoken and saw that his long hair covered his eyes, and his figure was as thin as a monkey’s. He didn’t look like much of a fighter.

But the way he talked was incredibly cocky. At a glance, he was clearly a veteran delinquent.

What a bastard!

Even worse than a bastard!

Zhang Chen cursed in his heart, then looked at the others around him and cursed them all as bastards too.

At the moment, although he felt sorry for the girl, he didn’t want to meddle and bring trouble on himself. He could only condemn them all in his conscience!

He still needed to figure out what the hell was going on with him.

So he turned to leave this place of trouble. Out of sight, out of mind.

If I didn’t see it, it’s none of my business. Amitabha…

But just then, a boy with a spiky fringe hairstyle noticed Zhang Chen was about to leave and quickly came over to him.

The others behind him immediately fixed burning gazes on Zhang Chen…

Zhang Chen suddenly felt guilty as hell: What’s going on? Why is everyone looking at me?

Then the spiky-fringe boy whispered, “Brother Chen, is it enough?”

Zhang Chen: “????”

Enough for what?

Zhang Chen blinked in confusion, looked at the boy in front of him, and asked, “What?”

“Bai Xiruo, is this enough?”

“What did you just call me? Brother Chen?” Zhang Chen narrowed his eyes and asked uncertainly.

“Yeah, Brother Chen. What else would I call you?” The spiky-fringe boy looked at Zhang Chen in confusion.

“Then… what’s going on with her? Why are you asking me if it’s enough?” Zhang Chen pointed at the girl in the corner, the Bai Xiruo mentioned by the spiky-fringe boy.

“Huh? Didn’t you tell us to bring her to this little alley… and rough her up?” The spiky-fringe boy also pointed at the girl, speaking in disbelief.

“Ah… oh… so I’m your leader?” Zhang Chen pointed at himself and muttered quietly.

“Yeah, of course you’re our leader,” the spiky-fringe boy replied.

“Then… I just called you all bastards, but I’m the head bastard?”
