With his heart in his throat, Clark crept to the pub windows to try to take a look inside but the huge man had boarderd the windows after it broke on winter.

Hoping against all hope to see, Clark stepped on his tippy toes to peer inside the pub and when he was sure that there was no light in the pub, Clark gradually relaxed.

“I am sure he got up to find a drink.” Clark said to himself as he shook his head in amusement.

“You know him.” Clark said to himself.

“Finds a bottle when he is awake and once he has one he is out like a light.” Clark said as he bent the door handle of the pub.

“Everything will be okay.” Clark told himself as he stepped into the pub but not even a second later, a single candle in the pub lit up and his eyes came face to face with the huge man.

“Where are you coming from?!” the huge man yelled and Clark froze in place.

“I- I” Clark sputtered but the huge man stood up with a whip in hand.

“You were coming from visiting that friend you sent to attack me right?” the huge man asked as he flexed the whip in his hands.

“I wouldn’t dare.” Clark said in fear.

“I don’t even know them.” Clark tried to explain but the huge man flicked his whip and the the tail end of the whip landed on Clark’s side.

“Ahh!” Clark yelled as he covered his side in pain.

“I swear to you that I don’t know them.” Clark pleaded as he moved away from the huge man who loomed over him like a giant mountain.

“I only met them today, I swear it.” Clark pleaded as tears gathered in his eyes.

“So you mean to tell me-” the huge man said as he drew closer to Clark.

“That you stayed out so late with people you don’t know?!” the huge man yelled as he whipped Clark across his chest.

“I am sorry, I am sorry.” Clark pleaded as he curled up into a ball but the huge man didn’t stop as he began to whip Clark all over.

“Please stop.

Please stop.” Clark pleaded as he spat up blood but his pleas fell on deaf ears.

“I will teach you discipline so that you will never think about going against me!” the huge man yelled and Clark’s eyes began to blur from the excessive blood loss.

“Is this how I go?” Clark thought as pain racked his body.

“Is this how I disappear without a trace?” Clark thought pitifully as he let out a small smile.

“What did I even do?” Clark thought as his life flashed before his eyes.

“What did I even do to deserve this?” Clark asked as anger he had never felt before began to bubble from a pit in his stomach.

With incredible strength, Clark grabbed the whip and hurled a foot stool at the huge man’s face.

“You little!” The huge man exclaimed, but Clark paid him no mind as he crawled under a table, grabbed a glass cup on the other side and threw it at the huge man’s head.

“Just wait till I get my hands on you.” the huge man said but every time he tried to run to Clark’s side of the table, Clark will run over to the other side.

“You think you are finally old enough to play with me like this?!” the huge man yelled as he dived across the table and Clark wasted no time in grabbing a wooden tray and slamming it on the huge man’s head repeatedly.

“You ingrate!” Clark yelled as he slammed the tray in the huge man’s head.

“You wouldn’t be here without me either!” Clark yelled in fury.

“How dare you?” Clark yelled.

“How dare you waste my childhood?!” Clark yelled in rage as he raised the wooden tray again but Genevieve seized his left wrist.

“Let go!” Clark yelled in frustration as he tried to free his wrist.

“Let me go!” Clark yelled as a second hand seized his right.

“It’s okay.” Genevieve whispered.

“He can’t hurt you anymore.” Genevieve said softly and Clark’s heavy breathing calmed down.

Looking down at the damage he caused, the huge man was almost unrecognizable and Clark shivered slightly.

“I did that?” Clark thought to himself as he looked to either side of him to find Jacob and Genevieve.

“I-” Clark said as he let go of his tray almost immediately.

“I didn’t mean for this to happen.” Clark said in fear.

“He just started hurting me and-” Clark said as his eyes begun to blur.

“I am not violent!” Clark declared, as he tried his best to defend himself.

“It’s okay.” Genevieve whispered as she smiled discreetly.

“It’s okay.” Genevieve whispered again as her eyes twinkled in intrigue.
