Thirty minutes after the crowd dispersed.
The Queen.
“Goddess?” The Queen said as she flung everything off her vanity table.
“What Goddess?” The Queen asked in fury.
“My Queen, please calm down.” Bella said soothingly.
“The palace guards have searched every inch of the castle and the garden as you cimmanded but Princess Evelyn is nowhere to be found.” Bella said softly.
“Nonsense!.” The Queen yelled as she slammed her hand on her vanity table.
“She must have pulled some sort of trick.” The Queen said with gritted teeth.
“Bella.” The Queen called and Bella straightened up.
“Take some of the maids with you and march over to Princess Evelyn’s room.” The Queen said as she clenched her jaw.
“Search everything from her wardrobe to even her trash can!” The Queen said with a snarl.
“Don’t let anything escape your sight!” The Queen commanded and Bella bowed before disappearing with three maids at her heels.
“What is this?” Myrah questioned as Bella and a few maids from the Queen suddenly barged into Princess Evelyn’s room.
“We have been given orders from the Queen to search Princess Evelyn’s quarters.” Bella said before instructing the maids with her to begin their search.
“Wait!” Myrah said as she tried to block them.
“You can’t just search the Princess’s room without her permission.” Myrah said but the maids ignored her and began to turn Princess Evelyn’s room upside down.
“Stop that!” Myrah said as she tried to stop one of them from destroying Princess Evelyn’s jewelry box but a sharp voice stopped her.
“Get back!” Mina commanded and Myrah stilled before going over to her.
“Mina.” Myrah said as she approached the redhead maid granted to Princess Evelyn by the Queen.
“They are searching Princess Evelyn’s quarters like she stole something.” Myrah said as she pointed towards the Queen maids.
“As maids of Princess Evelyn shouldn’t we defend the Princess’s honor?” Myrah asked urgently and Mina let out a cold laugh.
“Honor?
What honor?” Mina asked slowly.
“The only person’s honor worthy of defense is the Queen’s.” Mina said with a snarl.
“Myrah, I understand you want to be loyal to the master you have served from the minute she was born but let me give you some much needed advice.” Mina said as she fixed Myrah with a glare.
“Do as you are ordered, and stay out of the Queen’s way.” Mina said, with pure venom in her tone.
“I found a loose board!” a maid yelled as she pointed to a loose floor in Princess Evelyn’s wardrobe.
“Let me see.” Bella said as she quickly marched over to the loose floor board.
Yanking the floor board easily, Bella searched the space under the loose floor board for a good two minutes only to end up with nothing.
Myrah’s P.O.V Twenty minutes after Princess Evelyn disappeared.
“My Queen, we have scoured the gardens and the castle like you suggested but there is no sign of Princess Evelyn on palace grounds.” Vincent, the vice captain of the palace guards said shamefully.
“Good Heavens.” whispered the noble women.
“Princess Evelyn was really summoned by the Goddess.” the noble women whispered and the Queen and her daughter clenched their jaws.
“I am sorry for the inconvenience this tea party has caused you.” The Queen said to the crowd of noble women and children in an apologetic tone.
“As this is a great shock, the royal family needs time to process the recent chain of events so I humbly request you all to leave.” The Queen said politely and the noble women nodded in understanding before dispersing.
“High Priest, a word.” The Queen said as she headed into the castle with her maids at her heels and the High Priest followed after them.
“Could the Princess really been summoned by the Goddess?” servants whispered as Myrah passed but Myrah paid them no mind as she walked as quickly as possible.
“Judging by the Queen’s face, this wasn’t the way things were supposed to go.” Myrah thought as she walked up a flight of stairs quickly.
“After she gets her bearings what will she do next?” Myrah thought as she flung all of Princess Evelyn’s clothes unto the bed and began to dig around the wardrobe for the loose board.
Tapping the bottom of the wardrobe with all her might, Myrah came in contact with the loose floor board and within seconds she retrieved the black book Princess Evelyn told her to find.
“Now all I have to do is-” Myrah muttered before the sound of numerous footsteps caught her attention.
Tossing the black book into her apron, Myrah quickly hung Princess Evelyn’s clothes and slammed the wardrobe door closed before the Queen’s maids flooded Princess Evelyn’s room.
“What is this?” Myrah questioned as she tried her hardest not to stick out like a sore thumb.
“We have been given orders from the Queen to search Princess Evelyn’s quarters.” Bella said before instructing the maids with her to begin their search.
“You can’t just search the Princess’s room without her permission.” Myrah said as she played the role of a diligent maid perfectly.
“The magical tools Princess Evelyn stole from the Queen’s vault has long since be transported out of the castle and the stem of the whisper peach is no longer here.
The only thing that can possibly incriminate the Princess is in my apron right now.” Myrah thought nervously.
“Stop that!” Myrah said in panic as she tried to stop one of them from destroying Princess Evelyn’s jewelry box.
“Why are they so insistent?” Myrah thought nervously as she yanked the jewelry box from the maid.
“Do they know that she broke into the Queen’s vault weeks ago?” Myrah thought in fear before a loud voice brought her out of her reverie.
“Get back!” The voice commanded and Myrah stilled.
“Mina.” Myrah said as she turned to the redhead maid.
“Are you with them?.” Myrah thought as she ran towards her.
“They are searching Princess Evelyn’s quarters like she stole something.” Myrah said as she pointed towards the Queen maids.
“As maids of Princess Evelyn shouldn’t we defend the Princess’s honor?” Myrah asked urgently and Mina let out a cold laugh.
“Honor?
What honor?” Mina asked slowly and Myrah got her answer.
“The only person’s honor worthy of defense is the Queen’s.” Mina said with a snarl.
“Do as you are ordered and stay out of the Queen’s way.
If you want your good days to continue in this castle Myrah.” Mina said as she fixed Myrah with a glare and Myrah tried her best not to punch her in the throat.
“I found a loose board!” a maid yelled as she pointed to a loose floor in Princess Evelyn’s wardrobe and Myrah tried her best not to scoff.
“Let me see.” Bella said as she marched over to the loose floor board.
Yanking the floor board easily, Bella searched the space for a good two minutes before giving up.
“Miss Bella, we have searched everything.” a maid from the Queen quarter’s said with a bow.
“There is nothing here.” The maid admitted and Myrah tried her best not to smile.
“We have to report this to the Queen.” Bella said with a sigh as she headed for the door.
“Finally.” Myrah thought as she let out a sigh of relief.
“Wait.” Bella said calmly and Myrah stilled.
“We haven’t checked everything yet.” Bella said and all the maids that followed her from the Queen’s quarters stopped in their tracks.
“Your name is Myrah isn’t it?” Bella asked as she came to stand before Myrah.
“Show us to your room in the servant quarters.” Bella commanded.
