Meng Ping’an was suffering from a terrible headache. Before she could even figure out what was happening, the two men had already dragged her quite a distance away.

Enduring the pain in her body, she opened her eyes and looked at her surroundings.

This seemed to be a desolate village. Dilapidated earthen houses stood all around, with overgrown fields nearby. Judging by their appearance, they had been abandoned for quite some time.Full novel: I Transmigrated into a Little Beggar—Don’t Panic! Occasionally, she could see a few men busy working in their courtyards. When they saw what was happening to Meng Ping’an, they were frightened and quickly retreated into their houses, peeking out and whispering among themselves.

Meng Ping’an looked at everything before her.

Had she been reincarnated?

Or had she transmigrated…?

After walking for more than ten minutes, the three of them arrived at a hillside covered in overgrown weeds.

“This should do. We’ve already come far enough.”

The slightly shorter man said to his companion.

The taller man nodded.

“Fine. Leave him here. Looking at how he’s half-dead, he probably won’t survive the night anyway.”

“Then search him and see if he has anything on him.”

The shorter man gestured nervously toward Meng Ping’an. He didn’t want to have anything to do with someone who was about to die. It was bad luck.

“I already searched him earlier. What valuable things could he possibly have? If he had anything valuable, would he have ended up in this state? Let’s go.”

The taller man pushed the shorter one along, and the two hurried away as if they were looking at something filthy.

Only after being left behind did Meng Ping’an finally react.

Had they really let her go?

She couldn’t help feeling secretly relieved. Thankfully, those two hadn’t been completely heartless.

Carefully supporting herself against a stone beside the grass, she sat up and began examining her surroundings.

It looked to be around seven or eight at night. The sky wasn’t completely dark yet, and the stars above were exceptionally bright. The moon was half-round.

It seemed so close to her—so large and bright—that she felt as though she could reach out and touch it.

About a kilometer away was the small village, consisting of more than a dozen earthen houses. Only a few of them had lights on.

Behind her was pitch-black, seemingly a huge mountain. She was currently at a small slope at the foot of the mountain.

She could hear the occasional cries of animals in the distance, and the sounds were somewhat eerie.

Meng Ping’an shivered.

It was really cold!

But when she looked at herself, she was startled.

This body…

Its small hands were frighteningly thin, and she was dressed in filthy, tattered hemp clothing.

Even the black cloth shoes on her feet were torn.

……

“Did I really transmigrate?”

Meng Ping’an still found it difficult to believe.

She felt herself from head to toe. Just as those two men had said, she had absolutely nothing on her.

At that moment, however, her stomach growled.

Only then did Meng Ping’an realize how hungry and thirsty she was. Her entire body ached.

It seemed that the previous owner of this body had been beaten quite often. There were bruises all over her arms and legs, and her ankle was badly swollen.

Meng Ping’an had none of the original owner’s memories. It seemed that the original owner had already died before she arrived.

Had she essentially taken over a dead person’s body?

According to the novels she had read in her previous life, she had transmigrated into the original owner’s body as a soul.

Meng Ping’an quickly accepted reality. Compared to the apocalypse in her previous life, her current situation was much better.

There were no viruses, no thick fog, and no zombies. There were green mountains and clear waters everywhere, and the air was clean.

Surely she could find a way to survive.

She had always been good at maintaining a positive mindset. Since she was already here, she would simply make the best of it. As long as she worked hard, she would definitely survive.

Once she made up her mind, Meng Ping’an broke a relatively thick branch from a small tree beside the rock to use as a walking stick. Supporting herself with it, she made her way toward the nearby hillside.

She wanted to see if there were any caves or pits nearby where she could take shelter. She would first make it through the night safely and then figure out how to find food tomorrow.

Taking advantage of the bright moonlight, Meng Ping’an limped toward the bushes to the north. Occasionally, a few frogs would jump out of the grass and startle her.

The ancient world really was great.

There was no pollution, no viruses, and no mutated animals. Even the frogs looked unusually friendly.

As she walked, Meng Ping’an carefully watched her surroundings.

Whatever happened, she absolutely couldn’t run into a snake. She was terrified of those things.

After trudging along for more than ten minutes, she finally found a sunken area in the ground. It was just large enough for one person to hide in, with grass nearby that could block the wind. Unless someone looked carefully, they wouldn’t notice it at all.

Meng Ping’an placed the wooden stick aside and slowly lowered herself down, supporting herself against one side of the slope.

Once she had settled into the pit and confirmed that she was safe, Meng Ping’an finally began thinking carefully about what had happened earlier.

Those people were probably part of a beggar gang, and she had most likely transmigrated into the body of this little beggar.

Because the child hadn’t managed to beg for any money or food, she had been beaten and driven out of their place of residence—the dilapidated village she had just left.

It really seemed that no matter where you went, it was always survival of the fittest.

Those without any ability could only suffer beatings and hardship.

Thinking about this, she finally began carefully examining the original owner’s body.

Looking at the thin and withered little hands, she guessed that the child wasn’t very old.

Probably only five or six years old.

From the way those people had spoken earlier, they seemed to have mistaken her for a boy.

That made sense. At this age, dressed like this, it was difficult to tell whether the child was a boy or a girl.

Fortunately, she had discreetly checked earlier and discovered that she was a girl….

That was a relief.

Actually, being transmigrated into a boy’s body wouldn’t have been a huge problem, but she had to admit that the thought would have made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Meng Ping’an took off the tattered cloth shoes and knocked the clumps of dirt out of them.

Her feet were black and emaciated, so thin that the shape of the bones beneath the flesh could clearly be seen.

What a pitiful child.

Who knew how long she had been starving? Her body had become this thin.

Meng Ping’an pulled the only tattered piece of clothing around her body tighter.

The temperature tonight was really low. It felt like winter.

But looking at the plants and grass around her, it didn’t seem like winter.

Why was it so cold?

Just as she was feeling confused, a clump of dirt suddenly fell from above and landed directly on her head.

……..

Meng Ping’an was speechless. She brushed the dirt off her head, only to accidentally touch something hard tangled in her hair.

Could it be…?

She hurriedly sat up and raised both hands to untie the ribbon holding her hair.

Slowly feeling around for the hard object, she finally found it.

She eagerly pulled it out and took a look.

………

It was actually a finely crafted jade peace pendant.

Judging from its quality, it seemed to be made of high-grade jade, although she didn’t know much about jade.

Seeing how carefully the original owner had hidden it, it was probably something extremely important to her.

Meng Ping’an gently rubbed the edge of the peace pendant with her fingers.

The small cuts on her hand had not yet completely dried, and a trace of blood happened to seep out and smear onto the jade pendant.

Suddenly, the peace pendant in her hand began to heat up.

Then, it seemed as though a streak of golden light flashed before her eyes.

When she opened her eyes again, Meng Ping’an found herself standing in an empty space.

There was nothing here except a small spring.

Could this be the kind of cheat ability commonly found in novels?

“Space?”

“Spiritual spring?”

Meng Ping’an was stunned.

Before the apocalypse in her previous life, she had read quite a few novels. She knew all about transmigration, spatial abilities, system cheat powers, and the like.

She never expected to be this lucky herself.

Not only had she transmigrated into ancient times, but she had also gained a space!

Heaven was really treating her well!

Overjoyed, Meng Ping’an squatted beside the spring and washed her hands. She then fixed her hair.

Using her hands as a scoop, she drank the spring water until she was full.

She thought to herself that since she had no food, she could only drink more spring water to stave off her hunger.
