Jiang Sui went downstairs and happened to see Luo Dongxiang elegantly having breakfast.
The table was filled with food: several kinds of steamed dumplings, soft milky buns, translucent soup dumplings, nutritious vegetable porridge, as well as Western-style bread, sausages, and crispy bacon.
Luo Dongxiang glanced at Jiang Sui and said indifferently, “You’re up quite early today.”
Jiang Sui lowered her head and replied meekly, “I was in a hurry… I just wanted to know if you’ve made your decision.”
Luo Dongxiang took a few sips of porridge, deliberately making her wait, before slowly saying, “After breakfast, we’ll go sign the contract.”
Jiang Sui was instantly overjoyed.
Five million!
She finally had money to stockpile supplies!
Because she was too happy, she even ate an extra bowl for breakfast.
Luo Dongxiang had already finished eating and was inspecting a blue refrigerated box. Inside were expensive sea fish air-freighted in that morning after being caught the night before.
She opened the lid, and a wave of cold air rose up.
On thick crushed ice lay very fresh seafood—two fish and several sea urchins.
After a quick glance, Luo Dongxiang was satisfied and closed the box, instructing the maid to take it to the kitchen.
Neither she nor the maid noticed that on the underside of one of the fish, a strange cluster of black eyes had grown—dense, distorted, like flattened black grapes.
After breakfast, Jiang Sui changed clothes and went with Luo Dongxiang to a law firm.
Luo Dongxiang didn’t trust Jiang Sui’s agreement, so she hired a top lawyer to draft a stricter, more detailed contract that left no room for regret. She personally watched as Jiang Sui signed it.
Seeing that she was serious, Jiang Sui immediately raised the price.
“If you want me to sign, add another thirty thousand as a handling fee.”
Luo Dongxiang frowned in disgust. “Are you blackmailing me?”
Jiang Sui lowered her head and handed over the property certificate, speaking softly:
“No… I just want a little more money to buy a designer bag. Transfer it to me together, and I’ll sign immediately and move out tomorrow morning.”
Luo Dongxiang was already tired of her.
“Sign it,” she said coldly.
That was agreement.
Jiang Sui watched the money arrive—five million plus thirty thousand—and immediately signed without hesitation.
Now that she had money, she was in an extremely good mood. On the way out, she bought a luxury milk tea and happily scrolled through shopping apps, adding everything to her cart.
She didn’t return until afternoon.
Completely exhausted, she collapsed onto the bed. After resting for a while, she slowly got up and looked toward the closed door of the small study.
Next, she had to talk to Xie Yanhan about moving.
She would leave the villa and go directly to Chong City. Xie Yanhan definitely wouldn’t go with her, but he also couldn’t stay in the Jiang family.
So he would have to move out alone.
Jiang Sui was a conscientious person. She had already rented a place for him—a two-bedroom apartment in a normal but lively residential area, convenient transportation, complete facilities, and a good location.
She got up, took a deep breath, and knocked on the door.
“Xie Yanhan, are you in?”
The door opened almost immediately.
It was evening. The setting sun was bright, so the room should have been lit—but inside was still completely dark. The curtains weren’t drawn and no lights were on.
Xie Yanhan stood in the darkness.
He had changed into black clothes, making his face look even paler.
At first glance, he really looked like a gloomy ghost.
Jiang Sui felt a little nervous and subconsciously pressed her lips together.
He was very tall—about a full head taller than her. He looked down at her expressionlessly, eyelids lowered, his eyes cold and detached.
He waited for her to speak.
“I need to tell you something,” Jiang Sui said tensely.
She explained the move.
“I’ve already paid the rent. You can just move in directly,” she said, glancing at the dark room behind him. “The lighting there is good, the neighborhood is lively, there’s a market and a small mall nearby—very convenient. As for me, I’ll be going back to my hometown for a while.”
Xie Yanhan responded flatly with one word:
“Okay.”
Jiang Sui felt a little awkward, but mostly relieved.
Good. She also didn’t want to interact with him too much. He gave her a very dangerous feeling—like he might pull out a knife and stab her at any moment.
“Then it’s settled. Tomorrow morning, pack your things. I’ll call you when it’s time to move.”
After speaking with the villain, she went downstairs, checked the garage for the car she would take tomorrow, then wandered around the villa.
The Jiang family was wealthy. The refrigerator, warehouse, and cold storage were all filled with food.
Jiang Sui planned to have a “zero-cost shopping spree” before leaving.
As she walked around, the front door opened—Jiang Lingling had returned.
She was only a few months younger than Jiang Sui, but they looked nothing alike.
Jiang Lingling had a thin, sharp face, large double-eyelid eyes (clearly enhanced), heavy makeup, and wore a black spaghetti-strap dress—very much a wealthy young lady.
Seeing Jiang Sui, she rolled her eyes and was about to ignore her, but thinking of the inheritance waiver agreement, she felt both smug and disgusted.
As she passed, she sneered, “Idiot. Giving up inheritance for just a few million—you really have no vision.”
Jiang Sui didn’t feel anything, as she hadn’t fully identified with the original host.
Her eyes landed on the designer bag in Jiang Lingling’s hand.
The second-hand luxury store clerk had said it was a hot item worth twenty to thirty thousand.
“Your bag is nice,” Jiang Sui said immediately. “Can you give it to me as a housewarming gift?”
Jiang Lingling stared at her in disbelief.
“You want my bag? Who do you think you are? You’re only fit to carry fakes.”
“Then give me a red envelope,” Jiang Sui continued naturally. “Wish me a smooth move. No need for much—just thirty thousand.”
Jiang Lingling nearly exploded.
“Are you crazy? Asking me for money? I know you that well? Thirty thousand right off the bat—why don’t you go rob someone?!”
“Thanks for the suggestion,” Jiang Sui said. “Then I’ll just rob you.”
“Give me thirty thousand, or I’ll smash your new sports car. I’m moving out tomorrow anyway—you won’t even know who did it.”
She had seen the car in the garage earlier. Brand new, shiny, obviously expensive.
Jiang Lingling shouted, “You dare?!”
“I’m barefoot—I’m not afraid of someone with shoes,” Jiang Sui replied calmly. “And you just insulted me. Like you said, I’m crazy now. It’s reasonable for a crazy person to act out.”
She tilted her head slightly.
“Besides, wasn’t I the one who already gave up inheritance? Compared to that, thirty thousand isn’t much. Think of it as paying me off.”
Jiang Lingling, still furious, thought about it—and realized she was right. It was only thirty thousand.
Fine. Treat it like dismissing a beggar.
Half a minute later, Jiang Sui received a fresh transfer of thirty thousand.
That evening, she went downstairs to get water and happened to run into Mr. Jiang returning from a business trip.
He didn’t even spare her a glance, just walked past with his briefcase.
But Jiang Sui seized the opportunity.
“Dad.”
