All the way through, Song Yang frowned, looking alarmed and flustered. His already limited social experience was once again violently impacted.
The records in the files about Jiang Ge’s past were truly bizarre.
No, it was her whole person that was strange.
Therefore, Song Yang’s distrust of her increased again.
‘It seems Team Leader Yu was right, I shouldn’t get too deeply involved with that woman. Damn me, I actually doubted Team Leader Yu because of a madwoman’s words.’
“Yo, what are you looking at? Jiang Ge’s file? What’s up? Suddenly want to know about her? Don’t blame me for not reminding you, I told you very clearly last time.”
Team Leader Yu suddenly appeared behind Song Yang, startling him.
He shuddered, then said speechlessly, “Team Leader Yu, you scared me to death!”
With that, he closed the file and said, “Team leader, I’m actually more concerned about what you told me last time, that many things happened to Jiang Ge later.”

“That’s right.” He nodded: “I should fully understand the story of the ‘Mummy Woman’ and the ‘Naive Boy,’ right? As the protagonist of the incident, Jiang Ge was released from the mental hospital before that.”
“Eight years old? Into a mental hospital?”
Song Yang frowned, “Isn’t that a bit inconsistent with the Minor Protection Law?”
“It is indeed not very consistent. But her situation was too complicated, so she could only be temporarily held in a mental hospital and then receive psychological counseling.”
Yu Yang recalled and continued: “Originally, after several years of psychological counseling, she did improve a lot.”
“So, she was adopted by a kind person at that time.”
“Everything went smoothly.” Yu Yang paused, “But, a problem occurred on the first day of adoption.”
“What problem?”
“The couple who adopted her died.”
“Died? How did they die?”
“Suicide.”
Song Yang frowned slightly after hearing the answer.
Suicide?
“Was the investigation result suicide?”
A couple adopting a child would obviously not commit suicide, and if they had suicidal tendencies, the welfare home would not agree to the adoption.
Of course, there may be some subjectivity involved. But the possibility is definitely not high.
“Originally, it was said to be suicide, although there were some doubts, but the investigators did not find substantial evidence to prove it, so it was closed as suicide.”
Yu Yang’s voice suddenly became low, “But later, strange things happened.”
“What?”
“Another family that adopted Jiang Ge committed suicide. Or rather, it wasn’t suicide, but death.”
Yu Yang’s voice became strange.
“Died? Wouldn’t the cause of death be the same as the first family?”
“Different. But the investigation bureau still didn’t find any evidence, so it was also closed as suicide.”
Song Yang’s brow furrowed deeply. Even more than a decade ago, various investigation methods were not as advanced as they are now.
But, it shouldn’t be that two cases were so similar.
Yu Yang signaled him not to interrupt, he seemed to be lost in memory.
“Before that, there were three more cases where the result was determined to be suicide, and, each of these cases, was related to Jiang Ge.”
“After the fifth case, Jiang Ge was taken into custody. The reason for the custody was that she was the person involved in so many cases, so the necessary investigation was necessary.”
“The weird part is this.”
Yu Yang looked at Song Yang, “All the cases have nothing to do with her.”
“We should have thoroughly investigated her when the second similar case happened.”
Yu Yang explained, “Do you think the investigators didn’t investigate her? Of course, they did. I heard from the seniors that they really investigated carefully, every detail.”
“However, still nothing was found, even during the time she was adopted by the next couple, they were tracking and investigating her every move, but it was useless.”
“Until the fifth case appeared, no matter how innocent Jiang Ge was, the investigation bureau could no longer let her go.”
“What was the investigation result?”
“You can tell from how well she’s living now that the investigation bureau ultimately had no evidence to prove that all of this was related to her.”
“So they let her go?” Song Yang asked in disbelief.
“Yes.” Yu Yang nodded, “I heard the seniors say that because there was no evidence, she was released, but, it seems that something big happened that year, and the investigation bureau didn’t have more manpower to investigate her, so they cut the Gordian knot and let her go.”
“There was something big that happened? What was it?”
“Forgot.” Yu Yang glossed over it.
“With my brain, what else can I remember?” Song Yang said unhappily.
“Young man, watch your tone, huh? I’m your team leader, anyway, I see you don’t have much to do, go patrol again this afternoon.” Yu Yang stared at him.
“Team Leader, you’re wrong, please let me off!” Song Yang said with a mournful face, “Besides, you’re still investigating the case.”
“With great power comes great responsibility.” Yu Yang patted him on the shoulder, “I believe you can do it.”
He turned and left, leaving Song Yang speechless.
‘A higher official can crush people to death!’
Sighing, he turned his gaze back to Jiang Ge’s file.
Indeed, the subsequent content was as Yu Yang said. However, because it was a file from more than ten years ago, many things were not recorded in detail, but simply glossed over.
For example, the first case was explained in great detail, but by the second and third cases, it was very brief.
Until the last case, the file suddenly seemed to be interrupted, with just one sentence.
〖Confirmed that the case is unrelated to Jiang Ge, case closed.〗
‘Too simple!’
Song Yang sighed.
The files of these old cases are indeed that simple. He knew that too.
Don’t look at Kang County now with its singing and dancing and peace, but back in the past ten years, various violent crime cases emerged one after another.
Although most cases found the culprit, there were still some cases where the culprit was not caught because the past investigation methods were simple.
“Huh? What does this mean?”
A sentence at the end of the file caught Song Yang’s attention, it was a passage from Jiang Ge’s confession.
〖In my mind, that scene was forcefully stuffed in.
——I am looking up at the rippling water surface. Is the bright sky due to the full moon hanging high? But it feels like I’m in the water, the vision is quite blurry. It seems that the moonlight cannot penetrate to the bottom of the water, the surroundings are dim, I can only barely see that there are many objects like shadows swaying and floating around.〗
Most of the confessions in the cases were compiled in the first person, so seeing the format of this confession.
Song Yang knew that it was Jiang Ge’s confession.
Only, the meaning of this confession seemed extraordinarily horrifying.
As if remembering something, he looked through Jiang Ge’s confession again, and sure enough, at the end of each case, there was a paragraph.
Moreover, it was still the strange words left by the woman.
