After the silver needles were inserted, the Second Son of the Zhang Family immediately stopped convulsing. His nose stopped bleeding, the foam stopped spilling from his mouth, and his breathing soon became steady as well.
Grandpa thought that Granny Liu had driven away the yellow weasel that had possessed the Second Son of the Zhang Family. However, when he looked at Granny Liu's expression, he saw that she was still extremely solemn.
Then, Granny Liu suddenly placed her hand on the Second Son of the Zhang Family's lower abdomen and gently pressed it several times.
Grandpa was horrified to discover that a lump of flesh had bulged out from the Second Son of the Zhang Family's stomach, about the size of a baby's fist.
The lump was extremely strange, as though it were alive. It moved all over the Second Son of the Zhang Family's stomach, appearing here one moment and there the next.
Granny Liu held a silver needle in her hand, her eyes fixed intently on the lump of flesh as she continuously tried to track its movements. She attempted several times but failed to pierce it.
Grandpa watched in amazement and asked, "Little Sister, what the hell is that thing?"
"It is baleful qi formed from the yellow weasel's resentment. If we don't release this baleful qi, the Second Son of the Zhang Family will undoubtedly die."
As Granny Liu spoke, sweat had already appeared on her forehead. She tried several more times but still failed to pierce the lump.
In the end, Granny Liu looked at Grandpa and said anxiously, "Brother Wu, hurry and fetch a basin of well water. It must be cold water that has just been drawn from the well."
Grandpa immediately agreed and ran straight to the well. He drew up a bucket of water and brought it over.
Well water came from underground, so even during the scorching summer, water drawn from a well was ice-cold, almost as cold as ice itself.
Grandpa carried the well water over and hurried to Granny Liu's side.
"Little Sister, what do we do next?"
"Pour all of it over him," Granny Liu ordered.
Grandpa did not hesitate. He immediately splashed the entire bucket of well water over the Second Son of the Zhang Family.
With water this freezing being poured over someone, even a dead person would probably jump up.
Yet the Second Son of the Zhang Family merely shuddered slightly before becoming completely motionless again.
At the very instant the cold water splashed over the Second Son of the Zhang Family, the lump of flesh that had been moving all over his stomach suddenly paused for a moment.
It was only for the blink of an eye.
But Granny Liu's hand moved like lightning. She drove the silver needle directly into the lump of flesh.
Her technique was incredibly steady. After piercing the lump, Granny Liu suddenly flicked the silver needle upward.
The lump of flesh immediately burst open.
A stream of black liquid sprayed out, accompanied by an unbearably foul stench. Grandpa was so overwhelmed by the smell that he became dizzy and light-headed. Covering his nose, he hurriedly backed away.
The smell was as if someone had smashed a rotten egg directly into his face. It was indescribably disgusting.
Granny Liu, however, seemed completely unaffected. She continued squatting beside the Second Son of the Zhang Family.
As more and more black liquid flowed out of the lump, it gradually became smaller and smaller.
Eventually, it disappeared completely.
The Second Son of the Zhang Family finally began breathing normally again, and his complexion gradually returned to normal.
Granny Liu let out a long breath and sat down beside the Second Son of the Zhang Family.
But just as Granny Liu had finally managed to catch her breath, something strange happened again.
The Second Son of the Zhang Family, who had been lying on the ground, suddenly sat bolt upright.
His body was completely straight as he rose from the ground. His eyes rolled upward repeatedly, and within moments, both of his eyes had turned completely white, crisscrossed with red blood vessels, making him look as though he had developed cataracts.
Seeing him in this state, Granny Liu panicked as well. Her gaze darted around in every direction, as though she were searching for something.
Then an even more bizarre scene unfolded.
Using both his hands and feet, the Second Son of the Zhang Family arched his back and stuck his tongue out extremely far. He rapidly crawled around on the ground in a circle, his movements astonishingly practiced.
At that moment, the Second Son of the Zhang Family was practically a giant, humanoid yellow weasel.
Strange cries continuously came from his throat, and his face once again became hideously distorted.
When Grandpa saw what was happening, he was startled. He immediately ran to where he had left his broad-bladed sword and pulled it out of the ground.
"Little Sister, what happened to the Second Son again?" Grandpa asked fearfully.
"There isn't just one yellow weasel in this courtyard. There's another one whose cultivation is much deeper. Hurry and search everywhere. Find that yellow weasel and kill it. Then Zhang Lao'er can survive," Granny Liu said.
As she spoke, she had already lit another pipe of tobacco. She took several deep, vigorous puffs, puff, puff, until the tobacco inside the pipe bowl glowed bright red.
Grandpa was stunned when he heard this.
"Does it really have to be killed? That yellow weasel is only trying to get through a small tribulation..."
"Capturing it alive works too. If you can drive it away without killing it, that's fine as well. Do whatever you want," Granny Liu replied.
Only then did Grandpa carry his sword around and begin searching every corner of the courtyard.
However, he went around the courtyard twice and still could not find even the slightest trace of the yellow weasel.
Meanwhile, the Second Son of the Zhang Family, who had transformed into something resembling a yellow weasel, had already pounced toward Granny Liu. The two of them became locked in a fierce struggle.
Controlled by the yellow weasel, the Second Son of the Zhang Family possessed tremendous strength and seemed completely incapable of feeling pain. Granny Liu repeatedly struck him with the glowing-hot tobacco pipe bowl in her hand, but he did not even dodge. He simply continued attacking her relentlessly.
Grandpa became extremely anxious when he saw this.
He had searched the entire courtyard but had found nothing. What was he supposed to do now?
Judging from the situation, even Granny Liu probably would not be able to hold out for much longer.
Then Grandpa suddenly had an idea.
If there's nothing in the courtyard, could it be inside the house?
With that thought, Grandpa gripped his broad-bladed sword and went straight into the Second Son of the Zhang Family's room.
There were only three rooms in total. Grandpa searched every single one of them, even looking underneath the beds and turning everything over, but he still found nothing. Sweat had already broken out on his forehead from anxiety.
The yellow weasel had already harmed the Fifth Son of the Zhang Family. If something happened to the Second Son as well, things would become extremely troublesome.
Grandpa carried his sword back into the main hall and narrowed his eyes as he carefully scanned the room.
Then, almost unintentionally, he looked up toward the ceiling.
The moment he did, he noticed something strange.
There was a patch of white on one of the roof beams, standing out conspicuously.
Taking a closer look, he realized that it seemed to be the tail of some kind of animal.
The more Grandpa looked at it, the more it resembled the tail of a yellow weasel.
But he found it strange.
Why was its tail white?
At that moment, Grandpa still wasn't certain. He glanced around the room and noticed the teacups sitting on the table.
He immediately picked up one of them and hurled it toward the white tail.
The teacup struck it squarely.
The white tail twitched.
It was alive.
Now Grandpa was certain that the creature lying on the roof beam was a yellow weasel.
"Immortal Yellow Weasel, the Zhang Family knows that they were wrong. Please spare them this once!" Grandpa shouted toward the yellow weasel on the roof beam.
When the yellow weasel gave no response, Grandpa picked up several more teacups and threw them at it, trying to drive it away.
The yellow weasel cried out, "Squeak! Squeak!" after being struck. Suddenly, a sharp little head poked out, and it glared viciously at Grandpa.
Grandpa saw it clearly.
The creature lying on the roof beam was indeed a yellow weasel with a white tail.
According to legend, the deeper a yellow weasel's cultivation became, the more white fur would appear on its body.
The yellow weasel before him had an entirely white tail.
Clearly, its cultivation was truly quite profound.
