More than half an hour later, the two of them changed into matching home pajamas.
They were couple outfits that Liu Ruyan had secretly bought earlier, printed with cartoon teddy bears. Today, they were finally put to proper use.
Xia Feng let Liu Ruyan lie face down on the soft bed in the bedroom.
She obediently did as she was told, her heart fluttering like a startled deer. Because of certain prominent reasons, she could not lie completely flat and had to prop herself up slightly with a pillow, making her posture look a bit awkward.
With her eyes closed, she was full of anticipation, waiting for Xia Feng to apply medicine for her.
But after waiting for a while, she realized that Xia Feng had not taken out any ointment or medicine at all.
He simply placed his warm hands gently on her back and began to massage her, neither too lightly nor too forcefully.

Xia Feng continued his steady movements without pause and chuckled lightly in response. “Your husband has many more skills than you think.”
His fingers slowly moved down along both sides of her spine, his tone tinged with indulgent affection. “Look at you. You definitely don’t rest properly during work, do you? Your shoulders and lower back muscles are stiff as a board.”
“In the future, I’ll have to massage you more often. A woman should have a soft, relaxed body.”
Half of his words were teasing, the other half filled with concern.
Liu Ruyan was now completely unable to speak.
She felt as if she were floating on clouds. All the fatigue and soreness were being dismantled and dissolved bit by bit under his miraculous hands.
The warm and soothing sensation gradually emptied her mind, and her eyelids grew heavier and heavier.

He carefully turned her body over from her prone position so that she could lie comfortably on her back.
Then he pulled the thin blanket over her, gently covering her and thoughtfully tucking in the corners.
Looking at her peaceful, serene sleeping face, Xia Feng’s heart softened completely.
He bent down and placed a light kiss on her forehead.

Next came cooking time.
The kitchen in Liu Ruyan’s villa was larger than the entire rental apartment Xia Feng used to live in.
All kinds of kitchenware were fully equipped, brand new as if they had never been used.

Before long, three dishes and a soup were placed on the dining table.
A bright and glossy plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes, crisp garlic stir-fried greens, tender shredded pork with green peppers, and a steaming pot of seaweed and egg drop soup.
Though they were the simplest home-style dishes, the rich aroma instantly filled the vast villa with the warmth of home.
Xia Feng untied his apron and checked the time. It was almost 9 p.m.
He walked to the bedroom door and gently pushed it open.
The girl on the bed was still in the same position he had left her, sleeping soundly without moving at all.
“This girl…”
Xia Feng smiled.
He originally wanted to let her sleep a bit longer, but he was worried that sleeping on an empty stomach would not be good for her.
After some thought, he decided to wake her up.
He walked into the room, sat down at the bedside, and gently pinched Liu Ruyan’s nose. “Wife, wake up. It’s time to eat.”
