POV: Miria
I went back inside the lamp. Now, stopping to think about it, this whole situation reveals a lot of things. When I spoke on autopilot, I said my name was Miria. So... is my name Miria now? Besides, that last wish made it clear that magic exists. I try to create things out of thin air, but it doesn't work. Damn, it seemed way simpler outside the magic lamp. Can I seriously not do this in here? It looks like I really am a genie of the lamp. But changing the subject, why did it have to be a female genie? And to make matters worse, there isn't even internet.
Come to think of it, I haven't tried talking after saying that genie stuff on autopilot. Can I speak between wishes? Well, I hope so. The problem is, I am so bored right now. Is there anything at all to do? I look around and find a few books, instruments, and some games like chess and cards. I decide to check out what books I have at my disposal; there are romances, magic books, and books about magical beings. I decide to read the magic one first, and here is what it says:
There are various types of magic, and all of them utilize an individual's mana. Mana exists within all living beings, but controlling it and forming a core is what defines a mage. To achieve this, one must study magic with dedication. Among the different branches, there is Will Magic, where an incredibly powerful desire can alter reality itself. Generally, this type is restricted to the strongest individuals, as it demands a vast amount of mana and control. Another common type is Elemental Magic, which, while less powerful than Will Magic, requires little mana and is easier to learn.
Other branches can convert mana into physical strength, making the user fundamentally much stronger.
However, all magic requires the use of a magic core—the magical organ responsible for making mana flow. Creating one takes time; the most common method is to try and sense the mana within oneself and condense it into a sphere to begin manifesting spells. After that, to expand circulation and increase one's mana capacity, monster cores are required. Monsters are born with a core, emerging from mana accumulated in propitious locations. These places gain strength through battles or the sheer movement of people. Although it is not uncommon for them to appear in cities, there are countless magical tools that dissipate mana in large urban centers.
After reading all of that, I understood that the magic I was using earlier was probably Will Magic—and it probably wasn't my will doing it, but rather the lamp's. Next, I took a look at the book on magical beings. It basically described creatures known as zombies, mummies, skeletons, vampires, and dragons. But what caught my attention the most was the description of lamp spirits: essentially, they are incredibly powerful beings who are sealed by force and compelled to grant the wishes of mortals.
Very interesting. But after exhausting the topics that actually mattered, I went to check out the romance books. They are incredibly boring! If you've ever read a romance book aimed at a female audience, you know how cheesy it gets. Seriously, there's absolutely nothing else to do. I don't know how to play instruments, playing chess or cards by myself is a total drag, and worst of all is having to read these romance novels.
How boring!
