Ethan just made a discovery.
There was something suspicious going on around his wife, but he didn’t know what it was.
He only recently found out that her car was tampered with – smartly -barely for anyone to notice.
It was just a speculation at first but after she ‘fell’ from the stairs and she insisted she was pushed, he knew he had to believe her somehow.
He had replayed the tape over and over and he noticed something but he didn’t want it to feel biased based on the information his wife gave him, so he called an expert to look at the footage, and when he did, he noticed the same thing.
Even though, from the angle, no one was behind Ashley, it looked like the wheelchair was pushed and let go of.
He called the hospital to find out more about Lola and her records were stainless, but something was odd.
She resigned afterwards for some personal reasons.
He had been working from home to keep an eye on Ashley and at the same time still digging.
The car would be brought in a few weeks and he was going to take a look at it.
He heard a lot of noise coming from her room so he decided to check on her.
But on getting to the door, she dismissed him before even getting to know that he was the one at the door.
Ethan didn’t bother talking too much, he just went in and got a spare key and opened up the door.
The room was dusty and stuffy, and Ashley always had a sensitive nose so she should be sneezing by now, so what’s going on?
“What’s going on here?” He asked.
“What do you mean?” Elisa asked, sniffing.
“Are you okay?” he took long strides toward her and lifted her from the wheelchair, carrying her in a bridal style.
But as he turned to leave, he caught something with the corner of his eye.
“What’s that?” he asked, nudging at the white shirt that Mira held onto.
Mira looked at Elisa who was silently telling her not to say anything.
Luckily, Mira understood and tucked the shirt behind her.
“It’s mine,” Mira said casually.
“I forgot to put it away while doing my job.” On realising how unprofessional she must be looking, she sprung up on her feet and went into the bathroom.
Meanwhile, Elisa sat in Ethan’s arms awkwardly.
He carried her into his room and placed her on the bed.
This was the second time she was entering here and this time, she wasn’t coming in as a thief.
Out of all the rooms she’s been in, in the house, his was the neatest.
She noted how the bed was neatly arranged and how nothing was out of place.
There was not one thing that didn’t sit right.
“Why did you bring me here?” Elisa asked, breaking the silence.
“I was busy, you know,” she added.
“You are not well, and you are in there?
You should let the cleaners do the renovation.”
He didn’t even leave the house, how come he’s wearing a wristwatch?
“Why didn’t you go to work?” She asked.
“I had matters” he turned to look at her, “to take care of at home” he completed, going to place the watch neatly where the rest were.
“I’ll send some help in your room, right after one of them comes in and you tell them how you want it”
“You have OCD, don’t you?” She said – It was more of a confirmation than a question – and Ethan paused on his tracks.
“Well, I won’t say I have OCD but just the way you want things in order, and just the way you want it, same goes for me.
So if you don’t mind, can you carry me back?” she asked.
“This is killing me” She mumbled to herself, referring to her inability to walk.
Ethan quietly walked up to her and picked her up like she didn’t weigh anything.
“Why did you agree to marry me?” Elisa blurted out all of a sudden.
She could feel him tense, but he didn’t answer and just kept walking.
“I mean, you don’t love me.
You love someone else, so why didn’t you just marry the person instead?”
Ethan increased his pace, and still did not respond to what she said.
He kicked open her door and placed her on the wheelchair.
“You haven’t answered me” She held his hand, stopping him from leaving, but he peeled her hands off his.
“Do not be pathetic, Ashley!”
He said and walked out of the room – She could tell his countenance changed, but why was he upset?
If someone was in love with someone else, he should marry the person, no?
Or else…
Elisa gasped.
Unrequited love?
Maybe she didn’t love him and didn’t want to marry him.
Elisa clutched her palms together in silent regret.
She shouldn’t have asked.
Meanwhile, Bella went out for shopping and as she was leaving, she bumped into someone.
“Watch it” She shouted, trying to gather her things but the person did not reply, and just left.
She looked up and shook her head in confusion before getting the last of her things and leaving.
As she got into her car, she placed the items on the backseat and pulled out her phone.
She dialed a number.
“I want to hold an official press conference confirming my final decision on how to handle it” She said.
The person on the other line responded and then she hung up.
She can’t keep walking on egg shells like this.
Not when she has the power as her sister.
“That darn girl be stirring trouble, even in death” She sighed.
She needed to blow off some steam so she dialed.
The person picked after the second ring.
“Come to the house right now”
“You know I’m not just some call boy, anytime you need me.
I’m working” he responded on the other end..”
Bella snapped: “We all know that’s bullshit.
You don’t do shit.
Now get your ass to the house and make sure I don’t get there before you”
“Bella I-” She hung up, not letting him have the final say.
Bella got to the house and she checked for him but he wasn’t there.
As she was about calling him, the main door opened and she smirked.
“I knew you missed me” She said, taking slow and deliberate steps toward him.
As she got to him, she leaned in and placed a kiss on his temple.
“Bella, you shouldn’t be doing this” he sighed, yet his hands were on her waist, rubbing the small of her back.
“Shh.
let’s go shower” She held him by the trousers and pulled him.
“Oh and you haven’t sent me my allowance” he said and she paused.
“What allowance?” she asked.
She continued pulling as they ascended the stairs.
“Elisa usually gives me monthly allowance for my business but you -”
“I’m not Elisa”
“But it’s her money”
“And she’s dead, so it’s mine”
“You mean, ours”
“Just— just Shut up and don’t ruin my mood” Bella said with a tone of finality.
They got to the bedroom and Bella took off her clothes.
“Take off your clothes” She commanded.
Jake took his clothes off and she held his now erect penis and pulled him to the bathroom.
“Wait, let me play some music” She stopped and quickly turned on the speaker playing loud music.
Unbeknownst to them, bugs were being planted around the house.
