I’ll Tell On You, You Know
With Luning having broken the ice, students came forward one after another to undergo the test.
It had to be said that, aside from the issue of slow spellcasting, the students of Saint Nad Academy were quite capable.
Each spell they cast inflicted varying degrees of damage on the training dummy.
However, compared to Luning, their abilities fell considerably short.
Henry watched the scene unfold in silence.
He was pondering how he could possibly pass this test.
The main problem was that this class was a magic assessment. How could he be tested when he had no magic?
While Henry was still deep in thought, Sidney set his sights on him.
In truth, if Luning’s confidence was to be fully restored, all he needed was to defeat Henry just once.
And since this lesson focused on magic testing, for someone like Henry who lacked magic, no matter what method he used, it would be impossible to detect any magical power.
When that moment came, Sidney would surely find an opportunity to fail him.
“Henry, you’re up.”
He called Henry’s name.
All eyes in the room converged on him.
They were also genuinely curious about how Henry intended to pass this test.
Although his flying sword technique was bizarre, to these geniuses, it seemed more like a cheap trick.
A person without any magical power should be incapable of manipulating objects.
Unless he was using external force.
Only this explanation made sense to them and put their minds at ease.
Henry scratched his head, walked straight up to the training dummy, and then asked Sidney,
“Teacher, how am I supposed to pass this test without any magic?”
He was straightforward, not bothering to deny his lack of magical power.
Sidney adjusted his glasses and replied calmly, “I know you lack magical power. Normally, that would mean an automatic fail. However, I’ll give you a chance. If you can knock down this training dummy, you’ll get a perfect score for this test.”
Well, wasn’t that something. While the previous students all received graded scores, for Henry, it was either full marks or a zero.
Hearing Sidney’s words, the students couldn’t help but whisper among themselves.
“This… to knock down that dummy? How could Henry possibly do it?”
“Exactly. This is a dummy summoned by Teacher Sidney. I’ve heard from my family that Teacher Sidney is quite accomplished in summoning magic.”
Listening to the students’ discussion, a look of pride spread across Sidney’s face.
He had reached his current position certainly due to his own capabilities.
Beyond ordinary creatures, he could even summon low-level magical beasts to fight for him.
Once successfully summoned, he could then use other spells to wear down the enemy.
Henry paid no mind to the others’ chatter.
He approached the dummy, reached out, and tapped its head, testing its hardness.
Then, under everyone’s gaze, Henry threw a direct punch.
Instantly, a powerful gust of wind erupted through the air.
The moment his fist made contact with the armor, Sidney witnessed with his own eyes his pride-and-joy dummy being punched clean through by Henry, leaving a gaping hole!
Henry shook his hand, muttering under his breath, “Huh? Have I been slacking on my training lately? Why does my hand actually hurt a bit after that punch?”
By all accounts, Henry’s physical body should have surpassed that of an ordinary person.
Yet this punch actually caused him pain.
“So my body hasn’t been tempered to its limit yet?”
Henry felt a bit helpless.
But seeing Henry’s expression, the other students’ jaws nearly hit the floor.
The dummy that their magic couldn’t even scratch had been shattered by a single punch from Henry!
What kind of sense did that make?
Was this guy even human?
Someone gulped silently, deciding then and there to never cross Henry again.
Otherwise, they might end up like that dummy – with a gaping hole in their head.
Sidney stood frozen in place, momentarily speechless.
His original intention was to make Henry look foolish and restore Luning’s confidence.
But now, not only had Luning’s confidence not been restored, it had been thoroughly ground into the dust by Henry.
Luning clenched his fists, his eyes turning gloomy.
He knew his own magical strength better than anyone.
An ordinary person shouldn’t have been able to withstand his full-power strike, let alone the fact that he had gone all out.
Yet, even his full-power strike hadn’t pierced the dummy, while Henry had done it!
He could visually assess that if that punch had landed on him, his fate wouldn’t be much better than the dummy’s.
‘What kind of monster is this guy?’
He distinctly remembered Henry used to be just a useless coward.
What exactly happened to him the night before he left the Rumelter family?
Did the Family Head give him some secret family technique?
Then why did the Head expel him and promote me as the heir instead?
Could it really be just because Henry lacks magic?
Luning’s mind was in chaos, so much so that he couldn’t even muster an expression of shock.
Sidney, however, quickly snapped back to reality.
He glanced at Luning, noticed his slightly dazed expression, and realized the situation was bad.
He hurriedly coughed a few times, pulling everyone’s attention back to him.
“Henry, I asked you to use magic to defeat the dummy, not your physical strength! This is against the rules.”
“But I don’t have any magic,” Henry replied.
Henry couldn’t help but laugh.
He had no magic, yet Sidney still expected him to use it.
‘Should I go ask Sidney’s mom for a couple of ‘eggs’? Could she even produce them for me?’
Hearing Henry’s laughter, Sidney found it particularly grating.
Meanwhile, the other students were also discussing the matter.
“Wait, didn’t Teacher Sidney say that knocking down the dummy was enough?
Why is it not passing now?”
“Not sure. It can’t be because Henry was kicked out of the Rumelter family, so he’s being targeted, right?”
“I think your theory is spot on.”
Hearing the students’ opinions veering dangerously close to the truth, Sidney quickly cut in.
“Fine then, Henry. As long as you use a different method to knock down the dummy, I’ll give you full marks for this class.”
“Are you sure this time, teacher? Don’t go back on your word later. You should know Professor Reina periodically reviews my grades. I’ll be sure to report this accurately.”
Henry’s casual remark sent a chill down Sidney’s spine.
Professor Reina actually checked up on Henry’s results!
If Professor Reina found out about what he had done, wouldn’t she skin him alive?
He subconsciously raised his hand, about to announce that Henry had already passed.
But Henry had already formed a one-handed seal and shouted,
“Sword Control Technique!”
In an instant, a large swarm of longswords flew in from all directions, startling the students and causing them to scream in panic.
But under everyone’s watchful eyes, those swords all plunged into the dummy’s body.
The dummy, seemingly unable to bear the weight of so many weapons, finally collapsed to the ground with a thunderous crash!
Everyone stared at the dummy, now resembling a pincushion, and a dead silence fell over the room.
Sidney’s glasses slid down his nose slightly, the disarray in his eyes plain for all to see.
