Target, Legendary Alchemist!
What Henry experienced next included transforming into a long-haired monster, a giraffe, and a bat-like creature, among other features.
Fortunately, Erica had the antidote potions on hand.
This prevented Henry from turning into a monster permanently.
However, after trying several bottles of potions, Henry felt he was on the verge of becoming a mutant.
“Do you have any potion that turns you into a spider? Give me one. I won’t be Batman anymore, I’ll be Failman.”
“That’s all for today’s experiments. If you still want to try more, Student Henry, I’ll prepare more next time.”
Erica was clearly very excited.
Henry, however, raised his hand to stop her.
“No, Student Erica. After drinking those few bottles, I already feel like I’m not human anymore.”
“No helping it, practice yields genuine knowledge!”
As Erica packed up her equipment, she planned to treat Henry to a meal.
After all, he had helped her so much; she really ought to thank him properly.
But watching Erica’s movements, Henry suddenly thought of the pills he refined.
He wondered, if Erica was so obsessed with potions, would she be interested in Alchemy?
He currently didn’t have many prescriptions.
His damn system wasn’t even willing to give him more prescriptions.
But what if Erica could grasp the essentials of Alchemy?
Then the world would lose a promising future Potions Master, but it would gain an Alchemist!
“Student Erica, have you ever heard of Alchemy?”
Henry rubbed his hands together, a look of anticipation on his face.
Inside the academy cafeteria, Henry and Erica sat eating their dinner.
Although Erica wasn’t a noble and didn’t have much money,
Henry had helped her so much today that she couldn’t just invite him to eat in the cafeteria.
This suggestion had come from Henry, and Erica couldn’t refuse it.
“Student Henry, what is this Alchemy you mentioned?”
Erica pushed her glasses frame, seeming interested in what Henry had said about Alchemy.
From Henry’s description, it sounded as complex as her own potion-making.
It’s just that she had never heard of ‘Alchemy’ as a form of potion experiment comparable to potion-making.
Henry took a pill from his pocket and placed it on the table.
That single, small, beautifully finished pill instantly caught Erica’s attention.
Erica picked up the small pill, examined it carefully, and even sniffed it.
Suddenly, her eyes widened, filled with disbelief.
“This… this contains components of many herbs, and you don’t even need to melt the herbs into a potion! This is so strange!”
Young lady, you are the stranger one!
How can you guess the ingredients inside just by sniffing it a couple of times?
Seeing Erica’s excited expression, Henry was sure he hadn’t misjudged her!
But before Henry could even explain the pill’s effects, Erica ate it right in front of him!
Her action scared Henry into a cold sweat.
Thankfully, it was the
[Breath-Calming Pill]
he had taken out; if it had been the
[Huiyang Dan]
, the consequences would be unthinkable.
Erica chewed a few times, and immediately the things before her eyes became increasingly clear. Focusing her gaze, she could even see the pores on Henry’s face clearly.
“This is amazing! This pill can actually make one see so clearly! Is this the Alchemy you mentioned, Student Henry?”
Erica kept muttering, as if immersed in the wonder of the pill.
In Erica’s view, being able to create different potions was her hobby.
Although they were extremely unstable, for her, it wasn’t unacceptable.
Of course, her teacher thought very highly of her talent, especially since Erica had a unique understanding of herbal analysis.
The Mana Enhancement Potion she made was considered a work of genius in her teacher’s eyes.
Remember, she was still young and had plenty of time to research more potions in the future.
Originally, Erica thought that in this world, besides magic, only the path of potion-making was viable.
But now Henry had shown her a new path!
Despite her usually careless demeanor, she actually wanted to forge her own path on the road paved by predecessors.
That’s why she worked so hard to innovate more potions.
But Alchemy was different.
She had studied potion-making for so long but had never heard of Alchemy.
If she could use Alchemy to create her own achievements, she would definitely become a legend!
“Student Henry, you must let me learn Alchemy!”
She gripped Henry’s hand tightly, her expression full of sincerity, giving the impression she wouldn’t let go unless Henry agreed.
“Learning is a strong word. The main issue is I only know two formulas right now. One enhances eyesight, the other is related to men’s health.”
“Men’s health?” Erica didn’t quite understand what Henry meant.
Henry pursed his lips into a fake smile.
“Simply put, it restores a man’s vigor.”
CLATTER!
A dinner tray fell to the floor without warning, food scattering everywhere.
Henry was startled.
He looked towards the sound and saw a male student standing not far away, mouth slightly agape, looking somewhat surprised.
But quickly, the other party hurriedly picked up the tray from the floor and ran out of the cafeteria without looking back.
This behavior struck Henry as odd.
Did that guy hear or not?
“So, when can you take me to see it? Today?”
“I can, but…”
“Then let’s go!”
Erica speed-ate the contents of her tray, then pulled Henry out of the cafeteria.
****
Henry told Erica the method of pill refinement and even gave her a key to the backyard.
This action, however, made Lilith frown, seemingly somewhat displeased.
She turned to look at Henry, as if questioning why there was suddenly another woman in the house.
But Henry hooked his arm around her shoulders and said earnestly,
“Lilith, this is all for the grand enterprise! Do you know how hard it is to poach a potion-making genius from the academy? Look at how serious Erica is, she’s the perfect template for an excellent worker!”
“…I think you should be hung from a streetlamp now.”
After learning Henry’s intention, Lilith didn’t press further.
But in the end, she couldn’t help asking Henry one more question.
“Can’t she just take the furnace away?”
“If she takes it away, how will I roast geese, how will I roast chickens?!”
“Tch! What a bothersome guy.”
Lilith shot Henry a glare, her face full of displeasure as she left.
Henry stood by the window watching Erica.
He saw Erica carefully stroking the Alchemy Furnace as if caressing a lover.
“So this is the thing that can refine pills? My journey to become a legendary Alchemist begins now!”
Meanwhile, far away in the academy, Erica’s mentor suddenly sneezed.
He felt as if something had been stolen from him.
“I wonder how Erica’s potion-making is going. But she’s a genius, better give her some more space.”
