Bai Mao was stunned for a moment, then suddenly sat up in bed, excitement flickering in his eyes.
Huh?
Holy crap! Had he read that right? That message…
It looked like some kind of shady transaction!
Yet just a few months ago, Yu Xiangchen had righteously rejected him. Since then, their contact had been minimal, mostly Bai Mao reporting his whereabouts as a dutiful little canary. Nothing unusual had happened between them.
There was no reason for Yu Xiangchen to send that kind of message the moment he returned.
So… had it been sent to the wrong person?
Damn it!
Clearly, Yu Xiangchen had needs, even sent someone to a hotel but chose to meet someone else instead of him? Was Bai Mao not good-looking enough?
He even gave Yu Xiangchen his medical report, for goodness’ sake! Bai Mao kicked his legs in frustration.
He started typing: “Mr. Yu, it seems you sent this to the wrong person.”
But after staring at the message, he hesitated, deleted it, and hummed cheerfully as he went for a late-night snack.
“Auntie Wang’s cooking is amazing! It’s so delicious! After three whole months, I finally got to eat her food again…”
As for Yu Xiangchen, if he wanted to wait for someone, what did that have to do with him?
Bai Mao was just an innocent little canary.
After dinner, Auntie Wang gave him a shoulder massage.
“You’ve been away for three months and lost weight! How will you ever grow taller like this?” she said, sounding genuinely distressed.
Bai Mao groaned. “It’s because the food was terrible! I even lost two pounds!”
“If I’d known earlier, I would’ve gone with you.”
“Forget it,” Bai Mao waved her off. “The conditions there were awful. Anyway, I’ve got a week off now. Auntie Wang, please cook me something good so I can regain my strength!”
Auntie Wang smiled kindly. “Alright, alright.”
Bai Mao tilted his head lazily, enjoying her company. “By the way, Auntie Wang, it’s getting late. Why don’t you stay in the guest room tonight?”
“That’s fine,” she replied briskly. “I live in the next neighborhood, it’s only a ten-minute walk. Very convenient.”
Bai Mao blinked. “???”
The next neighborhood…?
He couldn’t help asking, “Aren’t the houses there expensive?”
Auntie Wang chuckled knowingly. “Oh, of course. Several thousand per square meter. But it’s not mine, Mr. Yu asked me to stay there so I could come over easily to cook for you.”
“???”
…So this was what wealth looked like?
Owning houses everywhere?
Bai Mao was quietly envious.
Before long, Auntie Wang grew sleepy, she always went to bed early. After giving him a few reminders, she left.
Bai Mao was exhausted too.
Though he’d slept on the plane, it hadn’t been restful. After a quick shower, he slipped into his soft bed and drifted off almost instantly.
He’d barely been sleeping four or five hours a day for months. Now, fully relaxed, he slept straight until nightfall.
When he woke up, he felt refreshed.
The living room light was on. He assumed Auntie Wang had returned.
Not thinking much of it, he washed up, put on his slippers, and called out, “Auntie Wang, what’s for breakfast today?”
But before he finished speaking, he froze, Yu Xiangchen was sitting on the sofa.
Yu… Yu Xiangchen???
He blinked. “…Mr. Yu? Why are you here?”
Yu Xiangchen hadn’t set foot in this place since Bai Mao moved in. Was he here to confront him about that message?
But that was his mistake, not mine!
Bai Mao stared at him carefully. Yu Xiangchen said nothing, sitting with a calm expression. His posture, though, was relaxed, legs crossed, leaning back, holding a few thin documents in hand.
When Bai Mao finally asked, Yu Xiangchen looked up, his tone mild but teasing. “Why? Am I not allowed to come?”
The young man at the bedroom door had just washed his face, his features clean and soft under the light.
His hair was still damp, revealing his smooth forehead and sharp widow’s peak. Dressed in simple striped pajamas, he looked natural and unguarded.
He seemed genuinely startled to see Yu Xiangchen there. His eyes widened, and he stammered, “No, no, that’s not what I meant.”
After years of single-minded focus, Yu Xiangchen had finally come to understand that the sponsorship arrangement suited him well, clear boundaries, no strings attached, both sides satisfied.
He looked down at the papers in his hand, then asked in a low, steady voice, “Why didn’t you reply to my message yesterday?”
Bai Mao’s eyes widened.
Wait… that message was meant for him?
But what exactly did Yu Xiangchen want to see him about at the hotel?
He hesitated. “I just got off the plane last night, and it was really late…”
He wanted to ask what the message had meant but didn’t dare. What if it had been about business? Though, somehow, that seemed even more unlikely.
Yu Xiangchen gave no explanation. He stood, placed the health report on the sofa, and loosened his tie with a practiced hand.
“Alright. I’m not here to lecture you. Time’s tight, go take a shower. I already had one before coming.”
“?”
Bai Mao hesitated, glancing back several times as he went to the bathroom.
Bathing? What are they going to do that required both of them to bath?
What was happening? Was this… that kind of situation?
But wasn’t Yu Xiangchen supposed to be the strict type? The one who always told him to focus on work and stay proper?
Wasn’t he supposed to stay virgin for Bai Sheng??
His thoughts were a tangled mess.
When he came out, toweling his hair, Yu Xiangchen was already in the bedroom, half undressed, his back to the door, the lines of his shoulders and back sharp under the light.
He turned slightly at the sound of movement, expression calm but eyes unreadable. “Hurry up,” he said evenly. “With your experience, I shouldn’t have to explain, right?”
Bai Mao blinked, taken aback by the tone, half commanding, half teasing.
Yu Xiangchen had almost no desire in this regard, and all of it was piled up on Bai Mao.
When Bai Mao was out, this person didn’t allow him to mess around, and when they are out together, even claimed that he was on a business trip, just to prevent him from accidentally meeting acquaintances while running around and being recognized.
It makes him… have no experience.
Then Yu Xiangchen added with a faint smirk, “You’re handling things yourself tonight. Consider it a punishment for ignoring my messages.”
For a moment, Bai Mao’s surprise melted into something bright and breathless.
This… this was happening?
Both wealth and beauty, landing right into his lap?
His heart raced with giddy excitement.
Even though Yu Xiangchen seemed slightly different tonight, more impatient, more intense, Bai Mao decided not to think too much.
After all, the man’s face alone was enough to make him dizzy.
Standing there, his eyes softened as he murmured, “Mr. Yu…”
His voice trembled faintly, caught somewhere between nervousness and anticipation, “Please be gentle with your teeth..”
Yu Xiangchen made a low sound in reply, half a hum, half a sigh and the night quietly deepened.
The temperature in the room kept rising, the air thick with tension. Shadows stretched across the bed, the atmosphere quietly shifting.
Yu Xiangchen reached into the drawer and took out something small, the soft rustle of packaging breaking the silence. He tossed it onto the bed and said lazily, his voice low and magnetic, “Help me with this.”
Bai Mao froze for a second, his breath catching. His cheeks flushed as he climbed out of bed, his heart hammering wildly.
He didn’t exactly know what to do, his fingers trembled slightly as he fumbled with the package, pretending to be calm even as confusion flickered across his face. The quiet between them made his pulse race faster.
Before he could fully steady himself, a light tap landed on his cheek, not harsh, but startlingly crisp in the still air.
Bai Mao’s face turned bright red,“…Mr. Yu.”
Yu Xiangchen’s gaze deepened. “Come here.”
Their eyes met for a brief, charged moment. The weight in Yu Xiangchen’s stare made Bai Mao lower his own, flustered and unsure where to look
Soon, a low voice was heard.
It was Bai Mao’s first time.
He quickly lost his strength. His hands limply pressed on Yu Xiangchen, and he said a little aggrievedly, “Mr. Yu, I can’t do it. Don’t, don’t bully me.”
“Mr. Yu…” he murmured, his voice soft, edged with a mix of nerves and pleading. The corners of his eyes glistened faintly under the warm light.
Something in Yu Xiangchen’s expression darkened, his calm composure giving way to a quiet intensity
Things had come to this point, and what man wouldn’t know how to continue?
He simply held Bai Mao’s waist and turned around. Amid Bai Mao’s screams, he pressed him down on the bed and suddenly became ruthless.
Once, twice, three times.
On the bed, on the windowsill. It’s like he wants to make up for all the debt he owed before.
After that, words were unnecessary.
The air itself seemed to hum, filled withunspoken understanding. Time blured as movement replaced speech, the soft thud of footsteps, the rustle of fabric, the faint catch of breath
And so, the night slipped quietly past, until dawn crept in through the curtains.
By the time it ended, the first light of morning brushed the edge of the bed.
Bai Mao’s energy and spirit were gone, and he felt like he had been sucked dry by Yu Xiangchen. He quickly fell asleep on the bed. When he opened his eyes drowsily, it was already ten o’clock the next morning.
His limbs felt heavy, his voice hoarse when he called, “Mr. Yu?”
No reply.
Yu Xiangchen had already gone.
Bai Mao sighed in quiet relief, curling under the blanket. Memories from the night flickered through his mind like scattered sparks, and before he could stop himself, a laugh escaped his lips.
Grinning to himself, he reached for his phone and typed a message, his eyes bright with mischief.
“Mr. Yu is so old. I’m so envious. I love him so much.”
Moments later, Yu Xiangchen, sitting at his desk with a stack of reports, paused mid-sentence as his phone buzzed.
He glanced at the message.
“???”
What did that mean? Was the brat calling him old?
He stared at it for a long second, then typed back, his reply calm but sharp-edged, “Don’t be envious. You’ll reach my age soon enough.”
