“Is Liuliqing really that afraid of…” heights?
Su Cixuan lowered his gaze to look at the young man who was tightly wrapping his arms around his sleeve with his eyes shut, a trace of amusement crossing his aloof and cold expression. Being held so… closely by the young man, he didn’t feel any repulsion at all.
“Afraid.” Soaring through the clouds and riding the mist? Such a thrilling activity… frightened meant frightened, no questions asked.
“Where I lived, things like this simply never happened. It’s very ordinary…” He couldn’t reveal his origins in meticulous detail, but as long as he didn’t violate any taboos, it was fine.
Take the present moment, for instance.
“I’m actually quite curious about the place where Liuliqing lived.” Su Cixuan often heard Bu Liuliqing talking about his own world.
“Anyway, it’s a lot safer than your place.” Though it had its dark sides, it wasn’t like this world where the strong preyed on the weak, living a life walking on the edge of a blade and dancing with fire.
At any given moment, people were moving mountains, filling seas, or flying on spiritual swords for a thousand miles.
“That’s true.” Su Cixuan conceded this point. From the young man’s narratives, he could tell just how peaceful his place of origin was.
Although there was no pursuit of longevity and Dao, nor any formidable abilities, that kind of ordinariness was also a legitimate way of life.
No wonder Liuliqing couldn’t adapt.
“So once everything is over, I’ll finally be liberated. Who knows, I might even be able to die my way back.” Bu Liuliqing stated quite nonchalantly.
Bu Liuliqing was being nonchalant, but the person listening to him…
To die his way back what kind of preposterous idea was that? How was one even supposed to die their way back? This Liuliqing was always like this. Oh well, he couldn’t change the fellow’s mindset overnight; although nourishing the body through the soul wasn’t as terrifyingly difficult for Liuliqing as one might imagine, it still consumed a fair amount of time.
Moreover, there was still the missing corner of Liuliqing’s current physical heart to find. Thus, there was still plenty of time ahead, and he would eventually find a way to correct these bizarre thoughts of his.
“Old Su, how much longer until we arrive?” Feeling as though they had been riding on the cloud mass for quite a while now, judging by his understanding of Su Cixuan, this must be a place very far away from the Wuchen Palace.
“You can rest for a bit longer. Although we have the coordinates of that kid’s whereabouts, it still takes some time to travel from the Wuchen Palace and the Dutian Realm to the Misty Continent. Rest easy and sleep.” Su Cixuan didn’t offer any further words of comfort to Bu Liuliqing; this was enough. He wouldn’t let anything happen to Bu Liuliqing.
Bu Liuliqing was even more direct, starting to doze off right against Su Cixuan’s shoulder. Because he was currently a mortal and time was pressing, Old Su had given some brief instructions to the palace attendants before bringing him along.
Truth be told, ever since emerging from that magical realm up until now, Bu Liuliqing was genuinely feeling a bit drowsy.
Sensing that Bu Liuliqing’s breathing had grown deep and steady, in order to let him sleep more comfortably, Su Cixuan naturally supported him, easing him down to rest with his head pillowed on Su Cixuan’s crossed lap, while draping a thin blanket over his body.
Then Su Cixuan began circulating his energy in a full cycle, closing his eyes to calm his mind.
Time slowly drifted away. Bu Liuliqing, who had slept soundly without a single dream, was suddenly startled awake by a mournful cry.
“Godfather! You have to seek justice for me! I almost had my dragon tendons ripped out!” For someone blessed with such a pleasant-sounding voice, how on earth could he wail like this?
“Keep your voice down, you’ll wake Liuliqing.” Su Cixuan’s aloof and crisp voice rang out at that moment, carrying a heavy, authoritative edge of dominance.
“Godfather, who is this? A mere mortal… well, mortal is fine, but godfather, something is seriously off with you! Could this possibly be my future godmother?” These words… were simply impossible to listen to.
“I’m a full-grown man, and who’s supposed to be your future godmother? Can you hear yourself speak?” Bu Liuliqing leaped straight up.
Only then did he realize that he and Su Cixuan were standing amidst a vibrant forest overflowing with blooming flowers.
So they had finally reached their destination.
As for the tall young man before him he was still not quite as tall as Old Su, but he was exceptionally handsome, though his brow ridge exuded a dense… wave of adolescent edginess. At least, that was how Bu Liuliqing perceived it.
This young man ought to be the Dragon Lord’s son.
Named… Old Su called him Long Huayan.
“You’re awake.” Seeing the person who had been peacefully snoozing on the cloud mass suddenly flip up and jump to his feet, Su Cixuan was momentarily startled, catching him just in time.
“Mhm, I had a great rest.” A refreshed Bu Liuliqing stretched his back, feeling utterly wonderful.
“Good. Tell me if you feel any discomfort.” Su Cixuan didn’t forget to instruct him.
Bu Liuliqing nodded in agreement without finding it the least bit annoying.
Meanwhile, Long (Long Huayan), who had been temporarily ignored off to the side, stared in absolute bewilderment.
Something was off seriously off! Given his godfather’s temperament the kind who wouldn’t give his own biological father face if he didn’t feel like it since when did he have so much patience? And that tone of voice… was way too gentle.
