The demon beast’s corpse slowly collapsed, the sword light fading away.

The phantom little fat dragon jumped around searching for a moment, pulled out a handkerchief and wiped clean the beast core, flicked its tail, cradled the core, and turned around.

The young man who had just been wielding his sword with high spirits was leaning against a stone, his white robes stained with cold blood aura. He looked in terrible condition, eyes closed and brows tightly furrowed, cold sweat dripping from his forehead.

Luoqing immediately fell silent, dutifully put away the beast core, returned to the sword, and stayed quietly by his side.

It knew what was happening. Dragons as a race possessed powerful bloodlines and exceptional talent. Unlike other demons who needed to cultivate for hundreds of years before transforming into human form, they could transform into human form from birth.

Although dragons were rare, their perception of heaven and earth’s spiritual energy was nearly terrifying. Such talent meant that as long as they cultivated, they could easily reach places others could not attain, earning them the title of heaven’s favored children.

But dragons were not without weaknesses.

After reaching adulthood, dragons experienced a period of weakness each year, called the rut period.

During this time, dragons would experience a sharp drop in strength, accompanied by ensuing pain, and would develop desires for blood and slaughter, losing control of their rationality.

Only a dragon’s companion could soothe them during this time. If they did not receive comfort for prolonged periods, dragons could even descend into madness.

Luoqing worriedly held its fat face, but the boss had been married for three years and had never been soothed through the rut period by Sang Ying.

By nature, dragons were creatures of desire, wanting to do whatever they wished.

It did not understand why the boss would not tell his wife about this, insisting on enduring it alone. Only when he could barely hold on would he sneak and cuddle against his sleeping wife. He had driven himself into this state.

Shen Ying arrived to see exactly this scene.

Abyss-realm demon beast corpses scattered everywhere.

A young man with his hand over his eyes, leaning against a stone, covered in blood. His expression was still full of pain even in sleep.

She froze for a moment, lifting her skirts to crouch down, silently watching him. Unclear emotion passed through her eyes, and she pressed her lips tight.

Cold sweat slid down the young man’s forehead, his brows furrowed tightly.

“Xie Lingyu…”

Shen Ying’s eyes were dazed. Unable to control herself, she lifted her hand, wanting to smooth out his furrowed brows.

Her fingertips had barely moved when a sword appeared between them.

Luoqing the sword spirit jumped out, spreading both claws protectively in front of the young man. “What do you think you’re doing! Don’t touch!”

“My boss is the outstanding graduate from the 109th class of Moral Cultivation at Minghua Mountain’s Qinghe Town Annex Secondary Street, and every single hair belongs to his wife!”

Shen Ying snapped back to herself and couldn’t help but laugh, poking the little fat dragon’s belly. “Yes yes yes, love guardian. All of him belongs to Miss Sang.”

Xie Lingyu was awakened by Luoqing’s fussing. Opening his pitch-black eyes, his cold gaze fell on Shen Ying.

Shen Ying quickly raised her hands and stepped back. “Hey hey hey, I just came to check on your progress. No other meaning.”

She glanced at him. “I’ve already settled things on my end, convinced the elders. At the centennial succession ceremony, the Jade Pool realm will open accordingly. But with your current condition, are you sure you can handle it?”

The young man stood up, his expression calm. “You need only do what was agreed upon. Everything else is not your concern.”

Finishing his words, he turned and walked deeper into the abyss realm.

Luoqing saw this and was about to follow when it suddenly saw Shen Ying smiling wickedly, beckoning it with a crooked finger.

Luoqing flew over confused. “What is it?”

Shen Ying leaned in close and whispered something in its ear.

Luoqing’s eyes went wide. “That will work?”

Shen Ying patted its small head. “You can try it. Even if you fail, there’s no real loss, right? But if you succeed…”

Luoqing flew off with a contemplative expression.

【Target’s current favorability: 0】

【Host, I must remind you again. If the conquest fails, your soul will be erased. Please stop being so passive and neglectful.】

【For the past year you have done nothing to aid the conquest. If this continues, I will have to punish you.】

【Within ten days, raise the target’s favorability to 10. Failure will result in electric shock punishment for half an hour.】

【Host, do you hear me?】

The girl kicked a pebble as she walked, humming a tuneless little song, nodding dismissively.

“I hear, I hear. Both ears heard it.”

Night fell low.

Sang Ying went to sleep at her usual time, hugging a pillow and lying on her side on the bed, eyes closed, appearing to sleep soundly. In reality, she was more alert than anyone, focusing on watching whether anyone came through the door or window.

She had already sent word in advance. As soon as she crushed the talisman jade in her hand, the disciples of the Immortal Alliance at the outpost would receive the signal and rush in to capture this daring flower-stealing demon.

Sang Ying kept watching until her consciousness began to grow drowsy and heavy. Finally, there was movement at the door.

There were light footsteps.

Sang Ying’s spirit immediately jolted awake.

This thief demon was quite bold, entering openly through the front door like this.

She kept her eyes on him, watching as the door was gently pushed open and then closed. Then the figure walked toward the inner room, and her body slowly came fully into view.

Sang Ying was surprised. Xie Lingyu?!

Why was he back at this hour… wait, could it be a thief demon disguised as Xie Lingyu?

Thinking this, Sang Ying did not make a sound, closing her eyes to continue pretending to sleep, wanting to see if it was really Xie Lingyu.

With her eyes closed, she couldn’t see, so her hearing became clearer.

The young man’s footsteps were different from usual, heavier and somewhat slow. He walked slowly to her bed. The bed dipped as he sat down.

The white sandalwood scent on his body was unusually strong, almost choking, and faintly mixed with some blood aura. Sang Ying was particularly sensitive to this smell.

It was like the scent had been washed, but the blood smell was too strong to completely wash away.

Her cheek was touched lightly. The fingertips touching her cheek were burning hot, not the young man’s usual cool temperature.

After touching twice, a palm slowly pressed down, covering half her face, the fingertips seemingly unconsciously stroking.

Various signs of abnormality made Sang Ying conclude that the person before her was not Xie Lingyu.

How could Xie Lingyu come to her bed in the middle of the night and touch her face like this?

So Sang Ying slapped a talisman on his wrist, suddenly opening her eyes, her gaze sharp: “Bold thief demon, wait for the Immortal Alliance’s prison food…”

The young man suddenly collapsed into her arms, his head resting on her shoulder, the rich white sandalwood scent filling her embrace. Sang Ying was about to crush the talisman jade when she froze. Immediately, she became even more furious. “Bastard, scoundrel, you’re dead!”

She pulled out a stack of Five Thunder Talismans to slap on him when a pale-blue sword suddenly floated before her eyes, and a little fat dragon sword spirit squeezed out from it.

“Spare him, oh wife!”

Sang Ying froze. “Luoqing?”

Luoqing nodded repeatedly. “It’s me, it’s me.”

Since the sword was Luoqing’s, that meant the Xie Lingyu before her was the real Xie Lingyu?

Sang Ying was bewildered. She turned to look at the person collapsed in her arms. The young man had his eyes closed, his usually cold brows tightly furrowed. His body was burning hot, yet cold sweat kept dripping down his forehead.

Sang Ying’s brows also tightened. “Luoqing, what’s wrong with Xie Lingyu? Is he injured?”

The little fat dragon took a deep breath, then rushed over to hug Sang Ying’s finger, blinking with pitiful big eyes, a little tear squeezed out at the corner of its eye.

“Wife, beautiful and kind-hearted lady wife, save the boss, please.”

Sang Ying: “…”

She grabbed its small horn. “Who’s your wife?”

Luoqing looked serious. “My boss’s wife is my wife.”

Sang Ying’s expression remained blank. She released the dragon horn, grabbed the dragon tail, and vigorously shook it up and down.

Three minutes later, the little fat dragon leaned weakly against the bed pillar, vomiting and crying pitifully. “Boss Sang Ying, save the boss. The boss is going to die.”

Sang Ying could indeed sense that the young man leaning against her had chaotic breath and reversed blood flow. If this continued, there was risk of qi deviation.

Her expression grew grave. “What happened? What’s wrong with him?”

Luoqing obediently explained the dragon race’s rut period.

The little fat dragon looked downcast and confused. “The boss is just too concerned with face. When something like this happens, why not just ask his wife for help? He insists on enduring it alone.”

After hearing this, Sang Ying clenched her fingers and lowered her eyes.

The rut period needed a companion’s soothing, but he liked someone else, which is why he had never come to her for the rut period in these three years.

Sang Ying wanted to ask why he didn’t go to Shen Ying?

Before she could ask, she already had the answer in her heart.

Because they were spouses now.

Xie Lingyu was an upright person. Although he married her to repay a debt, after marriage he did his duty as a husband well except for not sharing a bed with her. He would actively hand over his monthly salary and task rewards, always consider her safety whether leaving home or staying in, and for three years after marriage he used his own blood as a medicinal base to make medicine for her illness, never stopping once.

He didn’t like her, but he would be a good husband.

Sang Ying thought that such a person would not wrong Miss Shen Ying.

As long as she and he were not divorced, he would not be with Shen Ying without name or status.

“How do you soothe them?”

After hearing Luoqing’s answer, Sang Ying sighed softly. “I understand.”

Sang Ying raised her hand to undo the bed curtains, letting the gauzy layers fall one by one. The small space was filled with diffuse light.

She helped the young man lean to the side and untied her own belt, covering his eyes and knotting it at the back of his head.

She bit her lip and hesitated for a moment, looking at his pale face as he slept, then gritted her teeth and pulled her collar down.

The young man’s clothes were also removed in the same way by her, leaving only a white undergarment.

Her bare shoulders felt cool. With only a small undergarment, Sang Ying awkwardly used one hand to block herself, anxiously checking again that his eyes were properly tied.

After confirming, she slowly wrapped her arms around him.

At first she maintained a distance, slowly bringing her body close, using her own breath to draw near and wrap around him.

She felt the young man in her embrace gradually calm down his breath, his blood no longer flowing in reverse.

Sang Ying let out a breath of relief, gently patting his back in small motions, her eyes lowered.

“Just hold it together for today. After we divorce, you can go to her…”

Her heart suddenly ached. While unconscious, the young man bit her through her undergarment.

Two seconds later, Sang Ying’s ears burned like fire as she came to her senses.

…Xie Lingyu, you lustful dragon!!!
