“Grandfather, Father, Mother.” Jiang Wanting calmly greeted her grandfather and parents.

“Wanwan, this is your Grandpa Shen and Grandma Shen. These two are Uncle Shen and Aunt Shen, and this is Sister Yiyin.” Lin Xinya introduced them to Jiang Wanting.

Jiang Wanting politely greeted them.Full novel: I’m Done Pretending—After Becoming the Movie Emperor’s Wife, I Became Rich — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Shen Yiyin’s eyes showed undisguised certainty. She had heard the rumors about Jiang Wanting—spoiled, domineering, and acting high and mighty just because she was favored by the Jiang Family.

It seemed, however, that not all rumors were true.

Seeing how well-behaved and proper Jiang Wanting was, Grandmother Shen nodded in satisfaction. She had not chosen wrongly. This girl was dignified and elegant, calm and composed in speech, and also pretty and obedient.

She was quite suitable for their Shen Zui.

“Yinyin, call that brat. So many people are waiting for him—what kind of behavior is that!” Old Master Shen said unhappily.

After speaking, he turned to Grandfather Jiang and apologized. “In-laws, sorry for making you wait.”

Although Grandfather Jiang was dissatisfied, he did not show it. He waved his hand. “It’s fine.”

Shen Yiyin was about to get up and make the call when, unexpectedly, the subject of discussion appeared right on cue.

“Sorry, I’m late.” A man’s voice sounded slightly low and hoarse.

Jiang Wanting thought she had misheard. How could she possibly hear Shen Zui’s voice here? It must have been an illusion.

But when she turned around, she saw Shen Zui walking in through the door. Jiang Wanting’s eyes widened instantly as she stared at him in a daze.

The man wore a simple white shirt and black trousers. His deep brown peach-blossom eyes slightly upturned at the corners, and there was a faint light-brown mole under his right eye.

Grandmother Shen, seeing him in person for the first time in over three years, immediately felt her eyes turn red and scolded him emotionally.

“You brat!”

“Ah Zui.” Madam Shen could not help but call out softly.

Shen Zui greeted everyone at the table.

Jiang Wanting’s heart was pounding wildly. Heaven—she had actually seen Shen Zui in person!

Damn it, he was her idol Shen Zui!

She forced herself to stay composed. Was she dreaming? She secretly pinched her thigh under the table. The sharp pain made her gasp inwardly. It hurt—so it was real.

Her mind replayed Shen Zui’s Weibo announcement: My fiancée is not in the entertainment industry. Her surname is Jiang. My fiancée is not in the entertainment industry. Her surname is Jiang.

Jiang Wanting also had the surname Jiang. Then the original owner… was actually Shen Zui’s fiancée?

What kind of insane luck was this? She had transmigrated into the original owner’s body, and her fiancé turned out to be her idol?

“Wanwan?”

“Ah?” Jiang Wanting snapped out of her daze.

Only then did she realize Shen Zui had already extended his long, well-defined hand toward her.

She stood up quickly, nervous enough that her palms began to sweat, and reached out her right hand.

“Hello! I’m Jiang Wanting.”

Her voice was soft, carrying a slight tremble.

Her fingers were pale, slender, and delicate, with faint calluses on the fingertips—unexpected for such a soft-looking hand.

Shen Zui glanced at her quietly. Her almond-shaped eyes were moist and bright, her nose small and straight, and her lips a soft pale pink.

He looked at her slightly stunned. In the entertainment industry, he had seen countless beauties, but rarely had he seen such clear and lively eyes.

“Hello. Shen Zui.”

After speaking, he released her hand and sat down calmly, pulling out his chair with an unhurried movement.

Grandfather Jiang noticed the interaction and a faint surprise flashed in his aged eyes. Why did his granddaughter seem nervous?

Old Master Shen, however, was displeased. The girl hadn’t even let go yet, and this boy already had—no manners at all.

“Since everyone is here, serve the food.” Grandmother Shen said, breaking the silence.

Jiang Wanting sat down in a daze. She could not stop herself from pinching her thigh again—she hissed in pain, this time more obvious than before.

“What’s wrong?” Lin Xinya asked.

“Ah—nothing.” Jiang Wanting quickly replied, shaking her head.

She stole a glance at the man beside her. Sitting so close for the first time, she could not help but think: his skin was really good, his eyes were beautiful, his lips were well-shaped, and his pale pink thin lips looked like they would be perfect for kissing.

“Have you seen enough?”

A lazy voice, slightly hoarse, suddenly sounded beside her.

“Uh… sorry, are you that celebrity Shen Zui?” Jiang Wanting asked awkwardly, trying to recover.

“Yes.” Shen Zui replied calmly.

Shen Yiyin could not help but laugh softly. From the looks of it, her future sister-in-law was clearly captivated by Shen Zui’s looks.

Jiang Wanting lowered her gaze, feeling utterly embarrassed. Jiang Wanting, can you please control yourself?

The people at the table exchanged knowing glances. Grandmother Shen smiled in satisfaction.

Shen Zui ate slowly and gracefully, every movement exuding nobility.

Jiang Qixun carefully observed Shen Zui. To be honest, if not for the marriage arrangement set by his mother, he would not have agreed to let Jiang Wanting marry him.

It was not that he looked down on actors—no profession was inferior—but Shen Zui’s job required constant travel, filming at Hengdian Studios, and frequent overseas flights. How could a married couple even spend time together? Would his daughter have to follow him everywhere?

“Wanwan, right?” Madam Shen asked kindly. “May I call you Wanwan?”

Jiang Wanting nodded obediently.

“I heard you are a student at H University Academy of Fine Arts, and you still have two years until graduation?”

“Yes, Auntie.”

Madam Shen smiled warmly. “I’ve seen your work at an exhibition before. It was very good.”

Jiang Wanting stiffened slightly. The original owner’s work had actually been displayed at an exhibition? That impressive?

Lin Xinya also looked proud upon hearing this. Although her daughter was spoiled, her painting skills were genuinely outstanding.

Grandmother Shen then asked curiously: ”Isn’t Wanwan only nineteen this year? How is she already in her third year?”

Lin Xinya explained: ”In-laws, she started school early. She will turn twenty in less than a month.”

“Oh, I see.”

Grandmother Shen nodded in understanding, then turned to Shen Zui. “Ah Zui, once Wanwan turns twenty, you two will register your marriage.”

Shen Zui’s hand holding the chopsticks paused slightly. After a moment, he gave a low “Mm.”

Old Master Shen glanced at him. He did not think the boy would refuse. Back then, Shen Zui had entered the entertainment industry without permission—this marriage was the price he had to accept.

“That… isn’t that a bit too fast?” Jiang Wanting said weakly.

She would only turn twenty in a month, and then they would directly register the marriage.

Everyone at the table looked at her.

Shen Zui glanced at the girl sitting to his right. He did not quite understand the girl his grandmother had chosen for him—she was quite young, though.

“How about this.” Lin Xinya suggested. “Let them get engaged first, and wait until Wanwan graduates before getting married. They can also spend some time getting to know each other.”

Grandfather Jiang nodded and looked at the Shen family elders. “What do you think?”

Grandmother Shen agreed. “That works too. But they can move in together to build some feelings. I’ve already found a place—not far from Wanwan’s school.”

As soon as those words fell, both Jiang and Shen families froze.

Not engaged, not married—yet living together?

Jiang Wanting was also startled. Living with Shen Zui?

But thinking about it, marriage was already set in stone. Modern thinking was open anyway—living together before marriage was not unusual.
