“How could I?” Feng Zhi murmured. “I like being clean.”

“So… don’t let anyone else touch you from now on. If you’re not clean, I won’t want you anymore.”

“And I don’t have any experience either. It’s my first time, too. It’s not just your fault.”Full novel: I’m Just a Healer—Why Does Everyone Call Me a Guide? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She paused, then asked, “I felt really good just now. What about you?”

Feng Chi’s face grew even redder. He stammered, “It felt good.”

His ears were burning. “I’ll keep my distance from other Guides. You’re the only one who can touch my body.”

Feng Zhi laughed delightedly. “Then we’ll practice more from now on.”

Feng Chi’s eyes lit up, and at last he raised his head. His gaze landed precisely on Feng Zhi’s lips, as if he were a hungry wolf who’d spotted meat.

“Let’s call it a day. You bit me pretty hard just now.” Feng Zhi covered her mouth. “Could you smell my Guide Pheromone just now?”

Feng Chi’s mouth hurt a little, too. They had fumbled around and bumped into each other several times, but the pain only made him happier. It was proof of their intimacy.

At Feng Zhi’s question, he thought for a moment, then answered uncertainly, “I don’t think it had much of a scent. It was just like the smell of the air—very clean, but warm. It felt like basking in the sun.”

The sun hadn’t just warmed his body; it had warmed his soul, too, making him so comfortable he didn’t want to leave.

Feng Zhi tilted her head, puzzled. “No scent, and it feels like basking in the sun?”

She picked up the Guide Essence Patch beside her and handed it to Feng Chi. “Open it and try it. See how it feels.”

Feng Chi tore open the patch and put the little orb inside into his mouth.

That familiar, warm feeling flooded through him again, making him so comfortable he nearly moaned.

After a while, when the sensation had gradually faded, he finally came back to himself. Meeting Feng Zhi’s eyes, he blushed again. “It… it felt just like I described. Warm, like basking in the sun.”

“Hmm…” Feng Zhi couldn’t quite make sense of it. Still, as long as the Guide Pheromone worked, that was good. She had another way to make money, and she was starting to feel more like a Guide.

“By the way, Feng Zhi, have you awakened a Spirit Body?” Feng Chi asked hopefully.

Feng Zhi’s Spirit Body had to be as cute and pretty as she was. He wondered what it looked like.

Feng Zhi shook her head. “No. I haven’t sensed anything at all.”

Then she thought of something and said, “When you awaken your Spirit Body in a couple of days, let me take a look. I’ll see if I can see it.”

Feng Chi thought that was a strange thing to say. Sentinels and Guides could both awaken Spirit Bodies, and naturally they could see each other’s. Ordinary people couldn’t see them, of course.

Feng Zhi was a Guide, so she could see them too.

But he didn’t ask. He stole a glance at Feng Zhi and slowly edged his palm along the sofa toward hers, bringing them closer and closer.

Just as their hands were about to touch, Feng Zhi sprang to her feet. “It’s getting late. I’m going back to my room to rest. We’ll go for our physical examination at nine tomorrow morning.”

Feng Zhi hurried back to her room and looked at the Game Panel.

Just now, she’d noticed that her game level had increased. When she opened the panel, she found several new combat records showing that she had assisted in kills and earned experience.

What was more, as her game level rose, her body seemed to have changed, too. A warm current flowed from her chest and spread through her limbs. Her senses seemed a little sharper, and her body felt stronger.

Then she touched her mouth. Feng Chi had bitten her tongue, and it had stung, but as the warm current flowed through her, the pain vanished completely.

She stared intently at the Game Panel as a vague idea gradually took shape in her mind.

In this life, she looked exactly like the face she’d once created in the game. And when her game level went up, her body reacted. Did that mean she was actually the game character she had created herself?

In the game, leveling up instantly restored your health to full. Was that why the pain in her body had disappeared?

And if she wasn’t mistaken, the experience points had come from the batch of Ability Fluid she’d handed out that morning.

Someone must have used her Ability Fluid to heal themselves while fighting an Aberrant, so the system counted it as her assistance and awarded her experience.

The corners of Feng Zhi’s mouth lifted. This was… wonderful!

From now on, as long as she sold enough Ability Fluid, experience would keep rolling in without her having to do anything.

Then she remembered Feng Chi’s description of her Guide Pheromone.

At level 10, she would unlock a skill: Purification.

In the game’s backstory, Purification came from the Power of the Sun and could purify all things. Was that why Feng Chi felt a warm sensation, like basking in the sun?

If so, everything made sense.

So that was it!

Feng Zhi nearly burst out laughing, but remembered there was someone outside and managed to hold it in.

She opened the Game Panel and studied it again and again. In just that short time, her character had already reached level three, and Healing had become more effective.

Her stats now read:

Level: Lv. 3

Health: 300/300

Mana: 300/300

【Healing: Consume 30 mana to restore 150 health to the target】

Now she could fill an entire F-rank Ability Fluid Orb and still have mana left over. She’d be able to make money even faster.

In a cheerful mood, Feng Zhi hummed as she brought out an Ability Fluid Orb and got to work earning money.

“Good luck is coming, wishing you good luck~”

“Today is a good day~”

Since Feng Chi had awakened as a Sentinel, his senses had all been enhanced to some degree. At that moment, he could clearly hear the sounds coming from Feng Zhi’s room.

He could tell from Feng Zhi’s singing alone that she was in a very good mood. His own unease gradually settled as he listened.

He touched the corner of his mouth, recalled how it had felt just now, and wanted to kiss her again.

He’d only just parted from Feng Zhi, and already he missed her.

He regretted what he’d said earlier. They shouldn’t have bought such a big house; they should have bought a smaller one—small enough that he could see Feng Zhi every moment of the day.

Shaking his head to dispel those thoughts, Feng Chi opened his Chip and began researching how to kiss.

Next time, he was going to give Feng Zhi a perfect experience.
