After hearing what Nick Fury had said, Ye Bai also fell into deep thought.

Many things hadn’t seemed strange when they happened, but looking back, some of them really had been incredibly coincidental.

For example, Ye Bai had met Hela exactly one year ago.Full novel: In Marvel: My Wife Is Hela, the Goddess of Death — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

That morning, when Ye Bai opened his door, he found Hela lying outside.

At the time, Hela was covered in blood and looked as though she had suffered serious injuries.

Ye Bai carried her inside and saved her life.

From that point onward, Ye Bai gradually took care of Hela.

Over time, they developed feelings for each other and eventually became husband and wife.

Back then, Ye Bai had simply thought himself incredibly lucky.

He had opened his door and practically found himself a wife.

But looking back now, he couldn’t help feeling suspicious.

What if his wife had actually been deliberately arranged to appear beside him?

And Nick Fury had said that S.H.I.E.L.D.

couldn’t find any information about Hela.

That meant Hela’s origins really were mysterious.

So mysterious that even S.H.I.E.L.D., which practically ruled the roost on Earth, had been unable to investigate her background.

This made Hela’s identity even more mysterious in Ye Bai’s eyes.

On the surface, however, Ye Bai still acted extremely disgusted with Nick Fury, as though he didn’t believe a word he had said.

“My relationship with Hela is unshakable.

No matter what her identity is, she’s my wife.

No one can change that.”

“You should leave.

Don’t force me to throw you out.”

Ye Bai coldly ordered him to leave, completely ignoring the fact that Nick Fury had come all this way just to provide him with information.

Nick Fury didn’t mind.

He had already said everything he needed to say.

Whether Ye Bai believed him or not was Ye Bai’s own business.

His objective had been achieved regardless.

Before leaving, Nick Fury left his business card and told Ye Bai that he could contact him at any time if he had any questions.

Ye Bai didn’t even look at the card.

He simply threw it straight into the trash.

If there really was something Ye Bai couldn’t handle himself, what use would S.H.I.E.L.D.

be?

Besides, whether Hela was a pawn placed beside him by another organization or not, there was one thing that couldn’t be changed.

Hela belonged completely to Ye Bai.

No one could deny that.

If Hela really did belong to some organization, then Ye Bai would simply destroy that organization and keep Hela by his side.

When dealing with sugar-coated cannonballs, the best method was to eat the candy and fire the shell right back.

Having thought things through, Ye Bai didn’t dwell on the matter anymore.

Rather than wasting time worrying about it, he might as well think about what delicious food he could make for Hela later to help her regain her strength.

Otherwise, Ye Bai was worried that if he and Hela had children someday, their child might end up going hungry.

No matter how hard life got, the children couldn’t be the ones to suffer.

On the second floor of the estate, Hela was lying on the bed, but she had heard the entire conversation between Ye Bai and Nick Fury.

When she heard that Nick Fury had actually tried to drive a wedge between her and Ye Bai, Hela almost couldn’t resist charging downstairs and smashing that black-hearted egghead’s head.

But when she heard Ye Bai firmly declare his trust in her, Hela couldn’t help smiling.

“Stupid man.

At least you have a conscience.

All those advantages I let you take before weren’t wasted.”

At the same time, Hela breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, the thing she had feared most hadn’t happened.

If Ye Bai had really begun doubting her because of Nick Fury’s words, Hela wouldn’t have known what to do.

She couldn’t exactly kill Ye Bai, could she?

Then she’d have to spend the rest of her life as a widow.

Fortunately, Ye Bai’s final answer had satisfied Hela completely.

She silently decided that she would properly reward this stupid man tonight.

The things she usually refused to do could serve as rewards for Ye Bai’s performance today.

Of course, Hela was still extremely cautious.

Ye Bai’s unconditional trust made her very happy, but it also served as a warning.

Sooner or later, Ye Bai would discover her true identity.

When that day came, would Ye Bai still choose to trust her unconditionally like he did now?

Hela didn’t know.

She had no confidence in the answer.

“Maybe I should start secretly revealing a little about my past to him.”

“That way, he’ll have some time to prepare himself.

When the truth is finally revealed, perhaps it won’t be as difficult for him to accept.”

Hela thought about it and felt that the idea was workable.

At this moment, Hela deeply understood one thing.

Love was definitely the most complicated thing in the world.

She even felt that planning wars while following Odin had never been this difficult.

Falling in love was simply too difficult.

As for Nick Fury, Hela had no intention of letting him off either.

That black-hearted egghead had actually tried to drive a wedge between her and her husband.

That was going too far.

He needed to be taught a lesson, otherwise there was no telling what tricks that black-hearted egghead might try next.

Then there was also the matter of the Brotherhood of Mutants.

From Nick Fury’s conversation with Ye Bai, Hela had learned that an organization called the Brotherhood of Mutants had recently set its sights on Ye Bai.

“My man.

Who do you think you are to lay a hand on him?”

“Anyone who dares to touch my man clearly doesn’t know what death means.”

Hela had already made up her mind.

She would first teach that black-hearted egghead a lesson, and then wipe out the Brotherhood of Mutants.

“My man.

I’ll protect him myself!”

For the first time in her life, Hela felt an intense urge to protect someone.

She didn’t understand that this desire to protect someone came from love.

····

The aging and weakened Magneto was currently in an abandoned factory, planning his operation.

He had no idea that his Brotherhood of Mutants had already been targeted by the Goddess of Death.

“Based on our investigation, there are a large number of bodyguards stationed around Ye Bai’s estate.”

“If we try to force our way in, there’s a very high chance we’ll cause a commotion.”

Magneto pointed at the floor plan of Ye Bai’s estate on the blackboard as he spoke to the many members of the Brotherhood below.

What Magneto didn’t know was that the “bodyguards” he had identified were actually gang members stationed nearby by Kingpin.

Their primary task wasn’t to protect Ye Bai.

It was to make sure no fool dared to provoke him.

Kingpin had no intention of experiencing the thrill of being dragged out of an underground warehouse again.

“Then if we can’t force our way in, what do we do?

Use some kind of trick?”

A large man looked at the blueprint beside Magneto and asked.

“Exactly.

We can only use a clever approach.”

“If we force our way into the estate, it will cause a huge disturbance and attract those annoying X-Men as well.”

Magneto nodded, agreeing with the strategy of using deception.

He quickly began making specific arrangements.

“First, you, Mystique.”

“Your task is to infiltrate the estate and find a way to lure Ye Bai out.”

Magneto spoke to a woman whose entire body was covered in blue scales.

Mystique nodded.

With her mutant abilities, completing this mission wouldn’t be difficult.

“Then we’ll find a way to control Ye Bai’s wife.

That woman is Ye Bai’s weakness.

As long as we have her in our hands, Ye Bai will have no choice but to cooperate.”

Magneto briefly explained the plan.

It wasn’t completely foolproof, but it was logical and had a high chance of succeeding.

Thinking about this, the corners of Magneto’s mouth curled into a smile.

It was the smile of a man who believed victory was already within his grasp.
