Looking around the place, I flew in the air and observed the area. Looking for any other unfortunate robots,
I continued to search for robots and others to help. I got interrupted by the voice on the speakers.
"5 minutes and 40 seconds left!"
A girlish voice reached my ears soon after that.
"Help! Someone!"
Flying above the scene, I saw that a girl with short purple hair was trapped under a fallen robot.
"Hm..."
Landing, I sent the black ghost to lift the robot and help the girl. After that, I left and resumed my search, leaving her on the ground. With a single word, I flew back to break some more robots.
"Good luck."
"Huh? Hey, wait!"
But as you can imagine, I didn't wait for her.
I flew high up into the air and looked down at the cityscape below me, seeing some explosions here and there. It seemed like others were also going at it pretty hard and giving it their all in their own way.
While thinking that and not wanting to fall behind, I continued searching. With my previous action, I should have gathered enough points but also impressed U.A. teachers who were watching.
There were still 5 minutes remaining in the test, so I decided to spend most of the remaining time helping the other applicants. I won't help them destroy the robot, but saving anyone who was in trouble would be the best thing to do.
With my remaining time, I was still flying through the testing location. So far, I have helped quite a few of the examinees, receiving mixed reactions.
One girl I had helped, who had orange hair tied into a side ponytail, gave me a giant thumbs up, literally since her hand could apparently grow in size. While another one, a black-haired, boisterous dude this time, shouted about how manly helping him was. I think I recognize him; I grinned and threw him a thumbs up before going off to help others.
I was mid-flight, over the city, when in the distance, a loud noise resounded through the battlefield.
The building suddenly started shaking.
Turning my gaze towards it, I caught sight of the zero point robot towering over the buildings and the city that was surrounding it.
It slammed through the buildings around it.
Flying towards the giant robot whose arm just passed through a building. Before I could get over there, a piece of the building fell from one of them, and I could immediately hear the voice of someone asking for help.
"Seriously? That's what you call a zero point robot. U.A. sure does things differently." I said while flying towards the one crying for help.
It turned out to be another Uraraka Ochako. After helping her, I let the black ghost fly towards the giant robot at full speed. My objective is not to destroy it, but to stop it by destroying one of its legs and making it fall backwards to not injure the others.
Noticing that there were participants still trying to escape, I decided not to waste time. I asked someone who was coming towards me.
"Hey, can you tell me quickly if there is someone else near that?"
I said while pointing at the giant.
"No, I didn't see anyone there!"
He shouted before resuming his run.
A robot so huge needs two legs to balance itself; if I destroy one, then it will most likely fall. As I contemplated, the black ghost was reaching the foot of the gigantic machine.
Standing there, I wasn't concerned that the robot might attack me unless it had some ranged weaponry that was not shown in the manga and I didn't know about; or if it threw something at me, and even then I was confident I could dodge. My agility and speed aren't something to be looked down upon.
"It had to weigh at least a few thousand tons."
The black ghost arrived behind it and punched the back of its knee, and afterwards started tearing it.
It slowed down, but 'It's too dense...'.
I realized the robot's armor was too thick for me to just destroy it fast enough. It might work, but it will take too much time.
"Sooo, time to run."
Before I could move, I saw someone jump past me and proceed to obliterate the giant robot with one punch. Said someone began to fall while screaming, only to be saved by a slap from Uraraka that I had helped earlier.
"W-wait, is it over?" I heard someone say, and at that moment, a loud voice distinctively belonging to Present Mic shouted,
"And... IT'S OVER!! Examinees who are uninjured, please make your way out of the testing location. If you are hurt and require medical attention, stay where you are. We will send medical staff to where you are!!"
-----In the teacher's Observation Room some minutes earlier ------
In the Observation Room that had a hundred different screens displaying the image of different students from different cameras placed in the testing venues, some of the teachers were currently observing one display at the moment.
Nezu, the principal of U.A. High School, scrunched up his tiny, white forehead in concentration before making an 'Aha!' face.
On the monitor, Seiji was now seen flying through the testing location, landing occasionally and using his quirk to stop a robot that was going to land an attack on an examinee or lift up rubble from someone trapped underneath.
"Smart, he seems to have figured out the hidden points conditions", Nezu says.
"What an impressive quirk. Just what is it exactly?" Vlad King asked.
"Whatever it is, his body is greatly trained..." Running her tongue over her lips, Midnight said, but was ignored by her colleagues.
"His profile says his name is Arata Seiji, his quirk: [Invisible Black Matter]. He has control over invisible constructs." Vlad King continued.
"It's actually a really common quirk," Nezu responded.
"You call that common?" Midnight commented, unconvinced.
"Yep. It's just psychokinesis, to be more exact; his quirk allows him to create tangible psychic constructs, and judging by how he is using it, it must be humanoid-shaped and capable of flight." The U.A. principal explained, calmly sipping his tea from the cup in his hands.
Midnight said doubtfully.
"Even if the robots weigh so little because they aren't designed to be durable and their insides are hollow and easy to destroy, since this is just a test.
Every single one of our faux villains weighs upwards of 3000 kilograms, and he still manages to destroy more than thirty of them. What do you think?"
"I think... that this year is going to be very interesting." Aizawa, who had been quietly standing by the side looking unkempt and as if he didn't sleep for a while. muttered simply before turning his attention back to the screens
"Why isn't he running away? He flew pretty fast earlier."
....
After the exam, I was making my way out of the exam ground when I heard someone calling for me
"Hey, over there, excuse me. You are the guy who was flying around helping others, right?" Someone, a brawny-looking teen, asked.
"Yeah, that would be me. Need something?"
"No, I just wanted to say thank you!" He shouted before bowing in gratitude.
His attitude was in such contradiction to his thuggish appearance that it really surprised me.
"Ah, no problem, man. Happy to help."
"Seriously, I was in trouble over there. I was getting ganged up on by two of those damn robots. Then suddenly you fell and, I don't know how you did it, turned one into scrap and gave me the chance to deal with the other one. Really, thanks!"
I scratched my cheek in awkwardness, now feeling slightly bad for judging him by his appearance. Two others similarly spoke out about their experiences, leaving me slightly embarrassed at the attention I was receiving.
I was unfamiliar with being in the spotlight and getting thanked for saving someone; that was definitely something I had never experienced before.
Thinking about how I should respond to them, I searched through my memories for something to say and simply responded,
"We're all here to become heroes. It's normal to try and help, don't worry."
A familiar orange-haired girl stepped forward,
"So you are the type of people we have to compete with in U.A., huh?" She teased.
I rubbed the back of my neck, chuckling. It seemed like I wasn't getting out of here yet,
"Well, all we can do is try our best. Things will work out one way or another, right?"
"Easy for you to say, with such a powerful quirk. Kendo Itsuka, by the way. You helped me out too just now."
Ohh, so it was her now I remember.
"Arata Seiji. Your quirk looked powerful too, Kendo-san. I saw you smashing your way through the robots like they were paper."
"You can just call me Itsuka."
The guys around us looked at each other, eyelids twitching,
"I know he helped us and all. But seeing this right in front of us like that, kinda pisses me off."
"I know, right?" Another agreed. Somehow, I managed to garner some small resentment from the guys who were watching us.
