After that whole debacle, Mikoto came up to them with an apologetic expression on her face.
“I’m sorry about that, you shouldn’t talk to me anymore, or they’ll continue to trouble you. ” She said.
“Nonsense, you don’t have to apologize for them being arrogant idiots. Besides we decide who we talk to, a third rate villain has no say in our decisions.” Akira said.
“He’s right. We decide who our friends are.” Hana said, backing him up, with Kushina nodding along.
“Friends?” Mikoto asked, genuinely puzzled.
She just caused these kids trouble but they were trying to be her friends instead.
“Yeah, if those guys come back, we can beat em’ up together. They called you a disgrace right? Let’s show em’!” Kushina said, excitedly punching the air.
Mikoto, nodded slowly, still a little clueless on the whole friends concept.
During the rest of the tests, Mikoto was very disciplined, uncharacteristic for her age, though her unique situation in the clan probably had something to do with it.
Akira thought that it was more than just being part of the dove faction.
Akira, unsurprisingly finished the physical tests with ease, coming in first.
Kushina also came in second, thanks to her robust vitality.
What was surprising, was Hana drawing a tie with Mikoto in third.
Hana was very diligent in her training from little, but it would seem Mikoto’s displine also extended to her training as well.
The last test was the most difficult, molding chakra.
Some examiners passed around helping children unlock chakra and sensing how much they had.
For some civilians, especially the orphans, it was their first time even feeling chakra.
Though, what surprised Akira was that Minato, despite being an orphan already knew how to mold chakra.
Sensing his genin level reserves, further solidified the idea that Minato’s parents were of Senju descent.
Even if they weren’t, given that he knew how to mold chakra already, they were probably ninja.
After filtering out the last of the children, they were all taken back to the hall where their guardians, and the hokage,were waiting.
After everyone came in, the Third started his speech, though this time he learned his lesson and kept it short.
“Congratulations to all of you who passed. You all will go on to become the future pillars of this village, so work hard. And to those who didn’t pass, don’t be sad. This just meant that being a ninja wasn’t your calling. It does not mean you are any less important, everyone here is a future of this village so do your best to find your own path.”
After those final words, Hiruzen left, greeting Mito as he passed by.
“Good job you three, let’s get some ice cream to celebrate.” Mito said with a smile.
In the middle of getting a head pat from Tsunade, Akira looked at Mito.
“Can we bring someone else along grandma? We just made a new friend and we’d like it if she can come celebrate with us.”
She didn’t see the exact situation due to the exam sites being enclosed, but with her Kagura mind’s eye, she got the gist of what happened.
The Kagura mind’s eye can also be used to determine chakra characteristics.
Karin said that Sasuke’s chakre became colder and colder when he tried to kill her in canon.
She said that Naruto’s was warm and sunny, the complete opposite of Sasuke’s.
She even said Suigetsu Hozuki’s chakra disgusts her.
Mito was able to sense the distinct Uchiha chakra, even if they were children, when they surrounded Akira.
She also sensed Mikoto’s, which resembled the Uchiha’s, but slightly warmer.
She guessed that there was some sort of verbal squabble between the 2 parties, and given Mikoto came after and stayed longer, she guessed Akira at least found her tolerable, since they talked for a while.
Akira jogged over to Mikoto.
“Hey wanna come over and get some ice cream with us? My grandma’s treating us.”
She hesitated, then looked ready to refuse, only for her dad to pat her shoulder.
“C’mon, it’ll be nice making new friends.” He said sincerely.
From Akira’s perspective, it seemed as though her father was encouraging her to make friends outside of the Uchiha clan, which he found odd.
Both Itachi and Shisui who were the more milder Uchihas from the dove faction, didn’t exactly make friends.
Even Sasuke, pre-massacre, didn’t attempt to make new friends and only had his brother on his mind.
This wasn’t like Fugaku, ordering Itachi to get closer to the village to stabilize the rift between it and the Uchiha.
No, this felt genuine, like he only prioritized Mikoto’s happiness.
And not in the twisted way Itachi did for Sasuke, planning out his entire future without asking his opinion.
Mikoto’s dad saw the hesitation, saw that she clearly wanted to go, but was ready to refuse because she didn’t know how to interact with anyone her age and because she didn’t want to cause them trouble.
He wanted her to have an actual childhood, where she played, went out with friends, made mistakes and not worry and overthink about stuff like she tended to do.
Akira filed that away, and brought them over towards his family.
Immediately he saw Tsunade with a teasing face.
“Brat, your harem is getting bigger, hope you can handle them all.” She said.
Akira rolled his eyes, then suddenly, feeling a little mischievous, he put his hand around her waist.
It was almost comical given that he was a little shorter, but he didnt care.
“How about I show you haw I ‘handle’ it.” He purred.
Tsunade’s face went red, but before either of them could continue, Mito interrupted, bonking them both on the head.
Akira turned, only to see all 3 girls with red faces.
‘Why’d they get embarrassed?’
Confused, but not wanting to delay the ice cream, he ignored it.
Along the way Hana and Mikoto started talking, and after Mikoto got accustomed, about their training regimen.
Hana with her taijutsu and Mikoto focusing more on kunais.
They also found out that she did, in fact, awaken her sharingan.
Though when talking about it she seemed to get in a somber mood.
Sensing the atmosphere, Kushina chimed in and steered the conversation toward a less ninja focused conversation.
Just like what happened with Hana, she got along pretty well with Mikoto, and given that they were both friends in canon, Akira thought their friendship was meant to be.
While eating the Ice cream, Akira’s thoughts wandered elsewhere.
Chakra reincarnation.
This phenomenon occurred only when the person, whose chakra got reincarnted, died and imbued their chakra with their intense will and emotions, passing it on to another newborn.
The most common examples being Ashura and Indra.
Ashura’s chakra usually reincarnated in any descendant of his who had high physical energy, intense love and the ability to inspire others.
Indra’s reincarnation, however, tended to have high spiritual energy, high talent and ended up being isolated.
Akira didn’t believe that the chakra manipulated the hosts will though.
Both Madara and Sasuke didn’t start off isolated, they only ended up that way because of their circumstances.
And Naruto, despite popular belief in Akiras past life, didn’t get brainwashed by Ashura’s chakra into not hating everyone, he was just naturally kind, just like Hashirama.
The reincarnated chakra didn’t give any boost in strength, it just helped develop their bloodline when the conditions where met.
For example, Madara and Sasuke’s eternal mangekyo and rinnegan.
Even though it was said any Uchiha who fulfilled the conditions could attain it, undoubtedly, being Indra’s reincarnation made the process easier.
Hashirama and Naruto’s sage body was easier to evolve because it automatically did so as they aged, though they never managed to get it to rinnegan level.
Akira was curious as to what would happen if a Ashura reincarnation got Indra chakra.
Would they develop the rinnegan or would their sage body reach a higher level.
He leaned to the latter.
