The first day of the academy came quick.
At the breakfast table, Tsunade was recounting her first day at the academy.
“At that time, both parents and students alike came to greet me. I was so amazing that even the teacher bowed when I walked in the class.” She said, pride evident on her face.
Seeing Tsunade with her nose in the air, Akira felt it was his duty to kick her down a notch.
“Pretty sure that was because you were the granddaughter of the first Hokage.” He muttered, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Tsunade’s expression instantly fell.
“What’d you say brat?” She asked, putting an arm around his shoulder and pulling him in.
She started noogying him, trying to show her dissatisfaction, but Akira was having different thoughts.

Akira stayed quiet, so that he could spend a few more moments there.
Unfortunately Kushina saw the position he was in and instantly sprang from her chair.
“Let go of him, you… you cow!” Kushina shrieked.
Tsunade froze, slowly turning to meet Kushina’s gaze.
At first she was confused, but then looking down at Akira and his position under her arms and against her chest, she realized.
A slight blush appeared on her face, then she covered it up, acting proud.
She looked at Kushina’s chest, gave a smug snort and released Akira.
Upon seeing this, Kushina’s hair stood straight up, just like in canon, and she quickly pulled Akira away.
“I’m still growing!” She shouted indignantly, turning back to Tsunade after making sure Akira was OK.
When it was time to go, Akira headed in his room to collect his stuff for school.
Unfortunately before he could even think to use shadow clones, Mito barged in his room and pulled him out by the collar, while he slightly pouted.
“Akira, I know you may find some of the things being taught at the academy redundant for you, but it isn’t only a place for learning, it is also to make friends.” She said.
Akira could only nod reluctantly.
Spending time with the girls and the trio sounded barely acceptable.
He was also curios if the Hyuga twins, Hiashi and Hizashi would be in a higher class, given that they were in the same generation. Get faster updates on g.com.
Mito sighed, seeing his reluctance.
“Your only allowed to use shadow clones on days the teacher is teaching what you already know. Any physical activity, and you would go with your real body, understood?”
Akira brightened instantly.
“Thank you, grandma!” He said, swiftly hugging Mito.
Walking with two of the most famous people in Konoha, was a very novel experience for Akira.
He noticed it at first during his outings at a child with them, but only on the entrance exam day did it really settle in.
Mito, being the wife of the legendary first Hokage, and a princess of the Uzumaki clan, was almost as famous as the Hokage himself.
And being rarely seen outside her home made the reactions all the more prominent.
Tsunade, while less than Mito, still had a good reputation.
Being the granddaughter of the first, and student of the third Hokage, made being famous natural.
While she didnt have her ‘Sannin’ title, or her famous medicinal exploits yet, she was shaping up to be a very competent mix of medic-nin and taijutsu expert.
Along the way, they met up with, Hana and Mikoto, who were the picture of normal girls attending school for the first time, excitement mixed with nervousness.
Talking with Akira and Kushina seemed to reduce their nerves though.
Upon reaching toward the gate, Mito turned toward Kushina.
“Kushina, do try to turn down your intensity, some of the students and teachers may feel…uncomfortable.”
She then turned to Akira.
“Akira, I know you want to do your so called ‘grind’ more than you want to be here, but please, do try and be as nice as you can. Also, take care of the girls, you are the most mature one in the group.”
Finally, she looked at them both.
“And most importantly, have fun you two.”
“”We will!”” Both Akira and Kushina replied, hugging Mito.
They then did the same to Tsunade.
“Have fun you two, and if anyone tries to bully you, just beat them up. I’ll handle the consequences.” She said, smiling fondly.
“”Thank you, Tsunade-nee!”” They both said, hugging her as well.
“Me too, me too. If anyone’s bullying you, just come to me. I’ll be sure to put them I their place!” Nawaki chimed in.
Inside the academy, the teachers ushered all the new students in the hall to be sorted in their classes.
Contrary to what Akira thought, the classes weren’t separated by who was supposedly stronger, they were separated randomly, with a mix of clan kids and civilians.
In canon , the likely reason Naruto’s class had alot of clan children, was because they were heirs to their respective clans.
‘Hiruzen probably put them together because they were likely to know about Naruto’s situation and not discriminate for it, especially Shikamaru, who did end up being his friend.’ Akira thought.
Luckily all three of the girls and Akira were placed in the same class.
The Ino-Shika-Cho trio were placed there as well, along with Minato.
Akira also found out from Hana that the Hyuga twins were two years above them.
After getting lead to class by their respective teachers, they had to choose seats.
The desks used in the academy could accommodate two people easily, and the further back from the blackboard one went, the higher the class went, like a staircase.
Akira decided to go for the usual protagonist seat, to the back next to the window on the left.
Kushina followed, and plopped right down next to him, while Hana and Mikoto sat in front of them, making it easy to turn around.
The trio sat to their right, with Shikaku and Choza in the last row, and Inoichi and, surprisingly Minato, ahead of them.
After the rest of the children found their seats, the teacher introduced himself.
“Good day students, my name is Daiki Midoriya, and I’ll be your homeroom teacher for the next six years of your academy life. I like to eat dango and dislike tardiness, my dream is that all the students I teach will go on to become great people in Konoha, even if you don’t end up becoming a ninja.” He said.
Daiki was a slightly chubby man, with black hair and eyes, in his early twenties.
He had the standard ninja vest on and the headband, indicating his status as a chunin instructor.
“Now class, let’s start with some introductions, follow my example, saying your name, likes and dislikes, and your dream, if you have one. Well start from the right and move left.” He continued.
While the students were busy with their self-introductions, Akira tuned them out, trying to look cool by watching outside the window.
‘Hmm, that cloud looks like a pair of boobs.’
He only snapped back to attention when he heard Minato’s voice.
“…. and my dream is to become Hokage!” Minato said.
Even though he had a smile on his face, the seriousness of his voice left no room for doubt.
‘Let’s see if he still becomes Hokage after my existence here.
Even though I don’t want the position, Nawaki’s been saying it for as long as I can remember.’ Akira thought, watching Minato with interest.
